Academy of Taxidermy reviews
58Super friendly staff and well priced (possibly the cheapest museum in Perth). Quirky, small museum full of treasures.
Great place to visit, receptionist was lovely, cheap entry and so much to see for a fairly small venue. Definitely worth your time
I loved it here, something for everyone to look at. Family affordable entry fee, and then you a left to explore beyond the curtains by yourself. Lots of replicas and amazingly preserved animals, reptiles and insects. You could easly spend a few hrs looking at everything and still miss something. Dont forget to look up! A must do when in guildford. Parking can be a little tricky but theres parking next to alfreds kitchen across the road.
Being in the old original town of old Midland Guildford next to the old post office and jail since the 1900s it's an absolutely great little museum it has every animal in there the curators are there willing to help you it's great for the kids and they're going to learn alot
Actually a really cool and quirky museum. You can tell the owners put a lot of effort and care into this place. A really fun spot to check out after breakfast at a Cafe.
Entries are only $6 but no eftpos available which might be annoying if you don't carry cash.
Super interesting place to visit really enjoyed looking at all the fish and life size animals. Recommend coming in for a look.
What an amazing experience visiting this place. It's like something out of a movie. Great for a family outing.
Love visiting Michael and his Academy if Taxidermist. He does amazing work and I would thoroughly recommend it.
I have had nothing but a great experience with Michael Buzza and his wife (sorry I didn’t get her name). About 5 months ago I visited the museum to have my late rainbow lorikeet undergo taxidermy. He had died just that day through a tragic accident, thus I was full of emotions. Michael was very welcoming when my partner, brother and myself entered their museum. After filling out paperwork, he allowed all 3 of us to go into the museum for free. He quoted us with a wait time of about 6-7 months, however it was done within 5. I just picked up my beloved Peri today and was super pleased with the result! He even glued Peri to a perch. Him and his wife went through some information and care tips with me and said goodbye with a smile. Michael is very very talented and I'd recommend him to anyone looking into taxidermy for their pet. 5 star service for sure!
I went and had a look at this museum and what a treat. So much to see, it’s set up in an old theatre. Take the kids, lots of dinosaurs to see. I met the owners Michael and Lara. Very nice people
I went to the Academy of Taxidermy on two occasions. The first time for a fox and the second time for a crayfish. What a excellent job Michael did. Fully committed to his job.
My son loved this museum so much.
Do need to have cash to pay for entry, as they didn't have eftpos.
Went here with my partner. We both love animals so it was very interesting for us. The owner and others were kind. The owner especially is very welcoming and a lovely gentleman.
Thank you ️

Enjoyed looking around at the pieces on show, not expensive and plenty of seating to rest.
This place is so random and different from anything else you will experience. Cheap entry and my toddler loved it. Lots of dinosaurs
Went with my vet friends here and spent an hour trying to guess what each skeleton was! Definitely worth going with people who know their stuff since there's not a lot of info available about the specimens
Great escape into the kingdom animal with your little ones! We were amazed with all the things inside once we opened the curtain! Voila! My daughter who is a dinosaur lover, loved it very much and keeps asking to go there again and again. Defo worth a visit!
My son and I absolutely loved coming here. It felt magic the moment we walked in. The lady was so lovely and welcoming. The displays were fantastic. I'd come back again!
We were greeted at the door by the owner which we didn't realise who they were until we watched the video inside the museum, She was so lovely and welcoming and such a delight. Loved seeing all the different types of taxidermy and casts. Would've loved to have been able to purchase if there was a gift shop available. A definite see for those with an open mind.
