Abrolhos Reef Lodge reviews
55After a long expedition from Perth I was delighted to arrive. It was a cold bitter evening, and that continued. The air in the bedroom downstairs was so disgusting I contemplated my own life along with holes and blood in the walls. I then had to share a bed with my stepsister (i secured the bag) and she’s not my real sister so it’s fine. I felt like I was gonna vomit from the dookie left on the floor too.
Firstly we arrived at the Abrolhos reef lodge we got into our house and the first thing I noticed was this unbearable stench like the most putrid thing I have ever smelt. As the night went on I noticed that there were weird white spots all over the couch. I stayed up till 3am because I didn’t want to go into bed and room where the cupboard had all punch holes and weird spy holes. When I went to go into my bed it didn’t even have sheets on so I couldn’t even sleep. Lastly the carpet was disgusting it was all ripped up and gross. Never coming back here again was in shambles and disgusting.
AVOID! Please read reviews to avoid our mistake.
Room was old, holes in walls, stains on floors, stains on couch, dirty floors, some lights not working, flyscreen on door missing, curtains with holes, walls thin so could hear neighbours, people coming all times of night and loud, tried to put heater on but so loud we had to turn it off. We ended up sleeping on towels refusing to get under sheets and left at 5am returning the key to the box which was unlocked. If we had any other options we would have left rather than stay the night. I suggest any ratings above 1 are done by staff or family.
Well where do I start. We booked a room prior to leaving our place of holiday, were travelling back from our holiday and the phone rings with a strange name, pick it up and the person at the other end doesn't identify who they are and where they are calling from and they say "you booked room in our hotel tonight"? We didn't get a chance to figure out if it was a scam call before they say "when will you be here"? We figure out who was calling and reluctantly confirm we will be there. After a huge day of travelling we arrive and we are allocated our room.it's mid winter and I have been looking forward to a hot shower and a early good night's rest. I'm currently wet and sitting in a cold room waiting for the hot water heater to reheat so I can finish washing out the conditioner in my hair and finish washing my body after wasting my hot water fighting with a broken shower head I HAD BETTER NOT BE CHARGED FOR.
I have old thin towels and no shower mat and a manky looking face cloth. If the shower head was broken and not fixed, then chances are the shower cubicle has not been cleaned properly. No warning about the hot water.
The room heater doesn't work properly either!
For the money that he charged us, you would think he would invest it in a nice stay and keep people coming back! I won't be back and I will strongly urge my friends and family etc to stay else where. Sorry Mr Manager, your demeanour tells me that it's not even worth raising a complaint with you.
Don't waste your money, find somewhere that is interesting in providing the service you pay for. Time to go see if I can finish my shower! Ugh!
Not the most modern of motels but when im there for work, doesn't bother me. Has the facilities you need, hot shower, beds are comfy enough. Manager is great.
There were stains and odours on the carpet.
The shower head was covered in calcium build-up, and the water was squinting up to the ceiling. The hot water also ran out during my shower. There was mould build up in the shower. The basin taps didn't work. There was 2 towels that were old, rough and hard texture. No bath mat for the slippery floor. The hand towels were disgusting.
I'm a non-smoker, and the smell of smoke was through the room from the outside.
There was also an odour from the fridge. No shelving on the fridge door.
Slow wifi.
It was definitely not worth it, considering they charge $260 for 2 nights.
I was also advised by the locals that it's known as the drug drop hotel.
The screen door had no lock on it and the sliding glass door after locking it had a gap of half a centimeter where someone could put a screwdriver and unlock it so i tired a rope from the sliding door to the wall mounted TV so if they tried to open the sliding door they would rip the TV off the wall, and the front door didn't have a chain, very run down
Blinds don't close in the kitchen.lack of privacy.throughout actually unless you sit in the dark. Warning about thieves but flimsy lock.so I slept with a big knife. Spider nest above toilet. Nice people on reception.
Filthy kitchen section. Linen was clean but no restock of soap for the second night's stay
Stayed here nearly 10 years ago and it's definitely gone downhill. Started with my shower had old hair in it, I doubt it's been scrubbed since y2k. 2 mismatched thin towels and 1 hand towel I ended up using for a floor mat. The bathroom stunk like the sewerage was rotting in the pipes.
Bed sheets didn't fit the bed and a sheet and thin blanket on the bed. It's winter! No spares. Ran heater but it sounded like a road train using its air brakes.
Kitchen had 1 glass, 1 wine glass and a few plates and random cutlery. Decided to give the cooking a miss. After reading other reviews we were lucky enough to reviews 1 small tea towel. I wasn't game enough to make a cup of tea.
Found someone's old sock under the couch, definitely wasn't ours. No foxtel anymore.
Washer was ok, for $4.50. Dryer half dried my stuff for $4. Wasn't donating another $4 for 30 mins and used the furniture around the unit as a clothes line.
If you need cheap and can take the nasty with it, go for gold. Thankfully I was only there so sleep but it wasn't enjoyable.
Pics of the stunning bathroom, a little Ajax and a scrub it might look somewhat presentable.
Other pic is showing my lovely sheets. Fitted are much easier if you struggle with matching flat sheets to beds.
That place is a dirty place needles on the floor next to the pool, our room was not clean n we left something in the room when we left n the owner wat was told about it but when asked he said nothing was left there, so we asked to see cameras n he said no so we getting police to go there now.
If you need something very budget then budget is what you will get here. Unfortunately this time for us the last occupants must have decided to rub their uncleaned arm pits all over the place, as the smell of BO was that bad we needed to get a can of Glen20. The cleanliness was average (and I am being nice) for the price as well, ended up using a blanket for the couch to give u an idea. One very good thing after all that, was the bed was very clean and nice to sleep in, if your sensitive to light when sleeping then I recommend getting to bed early. The blinds in the bed room are only really any good for privacy, the ones in the living room should be in the bedroom as well. Unfortunately not a choice I would pick again unless I absolutely needed to.
The room was dirty, carpet looked like it had never been cleaned and our 3 year old daughter got bitten by bed bugs. Will never stay again
Hey it's not the flashiest place in town but the staff were so kind and helpful the aircon was cold and I slept well I'm grateful cheers
0 stars. We booked the 2 bedroom, when we arrived were given keys to a 1 room, went to reception and was told they booked the wrong room but there was a pullout sofa in there and no 2 bedrooms were available for the night, told partner who wasnt happy since we paid for a 2 bedroom. Went back and they then "swapped" us to a 2 bedroom with a man whod yet to check in.
In the 2 single room there was a wet used towel in the wardrobe, light switch wasn't in the room (literally it had been removed and there was a hole where the switch would be), the bathroom mirror had mould build up and didn't look like it had been cleaned, the frigdge shelf was broken, the AC and TV remote both didnt work, potatoe chip leftovers in main wardrobe.
This place I'm sorry it's a dump. Dirty dishes in the sink a pram and a shoe on the balcony. Odd cupboards with odd handles.cupboard in the bedroom wouldn't close and only an aircon in the kitchen. Didnt stay walked straight out. Now to get our money back!
This place is terrible dirty had booked 2 nights only stayed 1 night booked elsewhere as I didn’t feel safe floors where black bathroom was disgusting please avoid
I've been to many places and this.is definitely the worst! There's pee looking stains on the walls there's dust all down and in-between the bed and wall there's all the worst bugs you can think of and the walls are that thin you can hear people just open a doori really DO NOT recommend staying here as it's disgusting and I'll never stay there again but what I do recommend it check the reviews before going.
Low key accommodation
good prices
Don't expect a luxury room
It's okay
Rooms get everything that you need, also you can cook
Recommendable
The rooms were not maintained and unclean. Sheets and towels were ok, but the bathroom was mouldy and walls/soft furnishings were dirty. Basic maintenance was severely lacking including broken curtain rail. Some things left me questioning if this premises met basic Australian standards.
