Incredibly unprofessional, rude, and lacking all human decency.

We’re a disability support company representing a number of disabled participants who live in our care, and we purchased a work utility vehicle here.

We were told by the lovely salesperson, David, although it doesn't have a warranty we should bring it back if the car has engine failure. Unfortunately it did so, and we brought it back which David was very helpful handling.

We were then passed to Justin who was managing the repairs who we found to be non-communicative to start, and when pressed for more proactivity and some understanding to our urgent need of the vehicle became verbally aggressive and generally rude, unkind, and simply unprofessional.

Though the head gasket, the issue that originally caused the engine failure, had been repaired the repair process required the engine be 'remapped'. We waited some time with no update exepcting this to be completed, and when we reached out Justin flatly denied any further working on the vehicle demanding that the car was now 'running' and this is now our responsibility to sort out and pay for the remainder of the repair.

We purchased the vehicle in March, immediately had a service, and an auto-electrician complete work on it before the engine failure occurred. We've not had a chance to utilise it for the work purposes it was intended - transporting disabled people's equipment to their various community locations, as it's been with Aberdeen Auto Auction for about 6 months now getting ‘repaired’.

6-months of insurance, registration, and removalist cost to disabled people that haven’t benefited from it’s intended use.

I want to reiterate that David, the salesperson, and the administration lady were both fantastic and incredibly kind and helpful. It was only our experience with Justin that was simply not fit for customer facing employ, and we’d caution anybody looking to purchase from here as a result of only our experience with him.

We asked Justin for the required repairs to be finalised, or a refund, to which we were told that we’d now be charged $50/day until it was collected. Meanwhile, the vehicle currently isn’t safe for any of our staff to operate given the mechanical faults, and although we’ve offered to receive delivery, this was met with the same unhelpful rudeness.

David (and I believe your mother?), you’re both incredible - please keep doing what you’re doing. You’re good people. We feel guilty about this review because it doesn’t reflect how incredible the two of you have been, but the majority of our dealings have now, unofrtunately, been with Justin who has tarnished all professional relationship we looked forward to continuing with future vehicle purchases.

We’ve been encouraged by Justin himself to pursue him with legal action, though it feels out of challenge more so than cohesive teamwork and genuine suggestion, which we feel may well be our last option given the unwillingness to find a solution together; always our intended and first priority.

I hope nobody else, especially those disadvantaged, has this experience anywhere they purchase anything, least of all such a large and often independence-enabling purchase such as a vehicle. I would recommend going elsewhere at all costs.

This is a deceptive store that deceives consumers by selling bad cars. Never buy a car from this store.

Tania D'lima here. I purchased a Holden Cruze from this dealership in December 2021 and every month since purchase we have had to take it back due to mechanical issues. Coolent hose had to be replaced due to leaks causing over heating, rocket gas cover had to be replaced, then battery died on us and had to get replaced. Now the car won't start today 19th April 2022.

I have emailed them and got rude emails back from dealership. We were advised the battery wasn't getting charged by the alternator. So we had to pay to get towed back to the dealership which cost over $200.

We have spent nearly $1000 on this car we've owed for 4 months. If we had known this car had major mechanical issues we definitely would not have purchased. There were no log books to show last services and no bill breakdowns on what their mechanic had done when we took it back.we hope to save at least one person from buying from this dealership.

Absoluty disgusted in the place. Bought a captiva for $8300 lasted 2 weeks and engine light came on. I took it back to these guys and they said they “repaired” it. 2 week later it came on again i was told it was out of the 30 day warranty. So i took it to a local mechanic and got it fixed. He told me no repairs have been done on this car its all factory parts. He checked the console and said all the dealer has done is reset the engine light. I have spent $3400 in repairs on this car. I called thr dealer to ask for proof of them repairing it even any documentation they have nothing. He saw aw inwould have to look through the files. So i gave hime 3 days and still nothing he said there is to many repair cards to look through. There was also an issue with the electric window not working they didnt fix that either. Since i got the car inhave only done 1102 km in which 100 or so was driving back to perth to them. I have started legal process to get reembursed.so much issues the crank shaft/cam shaft corrolation error. Timing chain stretched causing them to be out of time and a ton of other issues caused because of this. Stay away

Do not buy a car from here. They sold me a car that had many problems including wiring that were bitten off by rats or mice from previous owner, engine would constantly heat up, leaks in the engine, check engine light constantly on and just too many to list. We came back in after a week and they got it fixed but 2 weeks later it just started acting up again. It has already taken me 5 grand to fix some of it and maybe another 7 grand to fix everything else thats broken. They did not care at all to put in their advertisement that there were problems with the car? I saw in the other reviews that people were also experiencing this. This place should be sued for false advertising.

I have been and will continue to tell people to avoid buying from this place.

Staff are friendly blokes, willing to knock off a few hundred on a car.but unfortunately after 3 days I had issues with my car relating to the battery.

Had a really good experience buying a car here with my daughter. The staff were friendly and efficient and we got what we agreed was a good deal on the car we purchased for her car. To date, we have been very satisfied with the experience. You should consider this as a good place to pick up a decent cheap car.

Very dodgy, do your research and get inspections done! Auctions also have "actors" bidding up the price, be aware.

Pros: Ken was very pleasant to deal with in person. He gave me a generous amount to trade in my old car.

Cons: The new car I bought had ongoing issues from the day after I bought it. Misfiring park plugs, which I'd asked to have replaced before purchasing, were instead vacuumed. I replaced them at a $500 expense less than a month later.

My engine was overheating constantly. Easily fifteen times in two months. I took it back to the dealer one week after purchasing due to the overheating and they told me there was a blockage which they'd now cleared.
The real issue was that the head gasket was blown. This is a $3500+ fix on a $7000 car. Between the sparkplugs and the head gasket I also had to replace a leaking water pump along with a fan belt and timing belt that the leak had damaged. I emailed Ken to express my dismay and received no response.

All in all, I would not recommend Aberdeen Auto Auctions.

I bought a car from there a few days ago with my mother in law. Absolutely amazing service he went above and beyond to show me all the details about the car he was so kind and understanding and listened to all my questions.

Only a couple small things wrong with the car which are nothing to complain about.

Just bought another vehicle from Ab' Autos. I find that the guys are a good team. I feel comfortable around them and they helped me find the right vehicles for my needs. The reason I upgraded is because I wanted even bigger boot space (work reasons) and other features, but my first car purchased from them a year ago was absolutely great. I had zero issues with it (after my initial buyers remorse panic) and am sure the next person who purchases it will be very happy. Personally my experience with them has been fair and my next upgrade when it comes to it, will probably be from them again (here's hoping). When purchasing a car second hand it can be daunting. Have a fair idea of what you're after and know your budget. The mechanics are quick and helpful at sorting out little issues if required. I'm really glad to be a returning customer.

NEVER buy from this car yard! They sold me a Barina with destroyed shocks and the valve stem seals were out. The car was an absolute lemon, their resolution was to give me another car (same value) then re sell the lemon Barina for the same price to someone else. Disgusting service and so un Australian.

These dudes are crooks.i mean just take one look at these guys when you get there - they are the epitome of shady car salesmen.they have no problem with selling you a broken car but when you go there even just the next day asking for a refund they will refuse to give your money back.i ended up getting refunded but only after they realized im crazy and wasnt going to take no for an answer.the other poor people that got screwed over that were there at the same time weren't as lucky - they didnt get refunded and left very upset.i hope this review saves at least one person from making the same mistake i did

I came in looking at a car that I called and had expressed my interest in the evening before. The man that approached me was welcoming (however did not introduce himself) and asked if I wanted to do a test drive around the block. He then asked to keep my phone, wallet, ID, and drivers licence as insurance, I though that was a bit odd. I drove around the corner of the builing and parked the car to inspect it myself, afterwards the car would not start despite multiple tries. They had a mechanic come in and have a look at it but said everything was fine, I then did another test drive without issues.
I then asked to see the logbook and service papers and I was told the logbook were in the glowebox, the glowebox was empty. Then another salesman said that the car has no service papers and no log book. I asked if their mechanic had servised it or if he could answer if the car had ever been serviced, he said no. I politely told him that I do not want to buy a car with no paperwork and that I was no longer interested. That's when a second salesman walked over and said "Do we have a yes on the sale, I currently have 3 other people on the line wanting to buy the car, you need to make a quick decision". I said no, I don't want it, handed over the car keys and walked off.

This is my first time looking at a car by myself, I did not appreciate the way I was treated by the end and I will not let myself get bullied by elderly white men into buying a car with no paperwork.

I very much do not recommend this place, it was a highly uncomfortable and unprofessional experience.
