ZENZEN Gisborne

Have been to ZenZen on many occasions, love this restaurant. Always consistent, food never fails to impress and the staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming, especially John.

Went here with my partner staff were super bubbley and friendly food was very good got the mushroom bao and teriyaki chicken and they both were deffinalty up to it delicious!

This restaurant has two dinner sittings on a Saturday evening, we had a second sitting booking. When the menu was offered, we were advised that 5 of the main courses were not available. This suggests poor kitchen management, as the menu is not extensive for a typical Japanese restaurant. In addition, I found the food we had to be good, but nothing to rave about. In general, I think this restaurant is overrated and more like a Japanese cafe than a classic Japanese restaurant.

Love eating here, service and ambience is wonderful. Best of all the food and cocktails are sensational! Extraordinary chef! I love that they have a great vegan selection on their menu. Highly recommend!

Nom, nom, nom! The front of house & kitchen staff were absolutely amazing. I wanted them all to sit down and dine with us! And of course as always, the food was seriously delicious. Kids were super excited about the addition of the sushi cone to the kids packs. I could eat their Poke bowls day and night. Their baos are the bomb! YUM! There seems to be something for everyone on the menu. Thank you.

Shared plates of deliciousness! We had edamame, agedashi tofu, JFC, prawn tempura, okonomiyaki chips and soft shell crab bao and would recommend any of them. (our spend per person includes drinks)

Delicious, nothing else to be said, really. I felt like licking out the bowl of my Don afterwards. Japanese comfort food on a cold winter night. Kuzu and Zenzen are gems of Izakaya in the Macedon Ranges that Melbourne wish it could match.

Fresh Sashimi! I think all local residents are ecstatic about Zen Zen’s sushi chef. The quality is fantastic and restaurant has a great vibe.

Zen Zen does it again! Top quality consistently keeps us coming back! With the addition of sushi and sashimi now, looks like it’ll be even more frequently visited by us. My 8yr old son absolutely loves all the dishes. Thank you Zen Zen

I have to say, my family and I visit Zen Zen once a fortnight as a treat, as we all can not get enough of the amazing food and service from Zen Zen I would highly recommend Zen Zen to everyone I meet.

Food was terrific in fact you can do well with a main meal (Katsun don curry). Fantastic kids meal (photo).
Unfortunately stuffed up our booking and we sat on the table chairs, fogot the birthday booking message.no bar service but the food made up for it

My partner took me here for my birthday. Omg wow the food is absolutely amazing, the crab baos are to die for. The service is just as great as the food, the staff are attentive friendly and very welcoming. My new favourite Japanese restaurant.

Casual food. Miso eggplant, sauce too much and too sweet to my liking with overpowering flavor. Fried chicken were burnt taste bitter.

Such a great place for dinner! Amazing atmosphere and the food and staff are incredible! Can’t go past a cocktail too! Thanks for a memorable Anniversary dinner!

The food here is great as are the staff. We have eaten here quite a few times now and love it
