Young & Jackson reviews
40 Food was nice and staff friendly.
Only complaint was it was freezing in there with the air-conditioning on and being fairly powerful. It was warmer outside than in the pub.
Incredible parma although portion was a little smaller than preferred for the price.very lovely staff and beer
Historic pub with good food and excellent service. There are steep stairs to the second floor where the main dining room is located along with the Cloe painting. Be sure to have the passion fruit pavlova ice cream cake. Yum!
Very nice traditional upscale pub atmosphere with the modern addition of QR coffee ordering. The NZ Sauvignon blanc is tasty, and the large glass is generous. We obviously devoured the croque monsieur!
Great atmosphere, everyone seemed friendly as. Young fella named Rhys at the bar provided great service. Was a good place to spend some of the limited time I had in Melbourne.
Replace your bouncer tonight on door entry, terribly rude to customers. Arrogant, needs to learn to respect people who attend this establishment regularly. No longer. Will never attend again and won't recommend to anyone.
We have been on the rooftop bar, relaxing ambiance nice atmosphere. The guy at the bar was very kind
It's probably the best pub in Melbourne. It's over 100 years old, with a roof top bar. Plus 10 different rooms to have a drink or dinner with friends after work. Great service with friendly staff. Go and see Chloe, you won't be disappointed!
Grate pub, tram on your doorstep, staff and food good especially the parma's only suggestion a touch dark but it makes a good ambiance.
Every time I've been here sport always on.
Go to place for a drink after work/late evening. Plenty of live sport action on screens. Good selection of beers on tap.
Great place to hang out right in across the street from Flinders Street station. The lighting and decor gives a vibe of the 1960s and 70s. Food and drinks are not very expensive! The desserts are amazing!
The location is still a great place.for an event. Staff were great and the food was delicious and came together in our reasonably sized group
Average & uninspired service.
Chips had no life to them & the side salad with the chicken parma was plain.
Pick up your act guys.
The most famous pub in Melbourne, and well worth a visit. Go upstairs to Chloe's Bar and see the well known and very impressive painting. Great beers on tap - my pick is Feral Hop Hog. Great menu too.
Great place with good views of Flinders Street Station and Fed Square. Children-friendly. Food was delicious, well priced and so were the drinks. The venue itself is clean. Went during Covid, so not many patrons, which was fine by me. Can imagine it would be very busy and packed during non-Covid times.
Waste of Health and MOney. Do not waste your time. -CHaotic Unhealthy Diner Bar. ALH group
Invaluable pub which can ruin your health & peace of Mind and burn a whole on your pocket.
Not a customer friendly and healthy friendly Pub in Melbourne.
Well if you like the noise the cost for what you pay and the dirty ambiance.
This is the right place and they got all backpacker travellers staff working as bartenders who change most often, they do not know nothing about food and wine.
Menu costs are ridiculous and they do not make authentic cuisine or anything. Half baked stereotyped World cuisine dishes starts from 15 dollars minimum main course. Its a heart attack one.
Management has no passion with food, it's like some kind of warehouse they do there.
All are frozen fast food done in a dirty congested kitchen in the first floor.
There is no special with seating and the Chloe portrait. Staff presentation and attitude are worthless.
HIghly not recommended.
Went in on a Sunday at approx 6: 30 and had a lovely Amber ale while I jotted down a few ideas into my pad. Service is great. At times a bit pushy (I got asked 5 times if I wanted another drink) but all in all, good service.
Enjoyed the the dinner with ‘Chole’ who from 1875. Good view and atmosphere. Kangaroo meat was a little over cooked.
Love how I was denied access for being too drunk when I hadn’t even had a drink lol
Spent hundreds there won’t ever go back now
Good job bouncers
