I want to be as honest as i can for this review as possible. Firstly i don’t believe that you learn much as you would if you did private lesson although yabc is cost effective doesn’t mean it is as good as others. Example you don’t learn a variety of scales when singing my old teacher just said to just use your talking voice which isn’t the greatest. Secondly concert wise when i was there they made me chnage in front of the boys and girls and everyone had to too which make people feel extremely insecure and unsafe. Thirdly the way they taught dance to people is to have more energy or everyone will laugh and you’ll get embarrassed as an example my classmates if they weren’t good enough at dancing they had to dance in front of everyone you might think it’s all fun and games but it will result in self doubt loss of self confidence and possibly quitting the program. Making people feel embarrassed and insecure is not the way to teach. I feel like if you are so highly of your program when i know multiple students are just expecting embarrassment and self doubt due to it. I honestly just feel like your program needs a lot of improvements. Bye bye!

YABC has been a wonderful experience for our family. Teachers are excellent and students get to progress at their own pace. Lots of opportunities to thrive.

I went to YABC from 2015- 2017, and it was a decent experience. I did enjoy doing the concerts, and the costumes we were provided with were pretty cool. However, some of the teachers ruined the fun. During singing/ dance rehearsals, the teachers would constantly yell at the class and one time a teacher got so angry that they made everyone sit outside in the cold while they scolded us. Other than that, the dances and songs we learnt were fun, and the drama lessons were top-notch.

Very disappointed with our experience of YABC. Some teachers good some not, difficulty finding the right person in charge. Stopped our daughter attending as she did not enjoy it because teachers were causing anxiety. Communicated to someone via phone call our issues but was refused refund. Don’t waste your time. Plenty of wonderful dance/drama schools to choose from around Melbourne.

I am loving seeing my daughters confidence grow on a weekly basis after attending her Tuesday class. YABC is very well run and everyone is so helpful. I'm wrapt that my daughter attends.

My daughter has been attending school for last 3 years. She is very happy with school and concert have been great. But ticket allocation is BIG PROBLEM a school this size should have limited no of tickets sold to families. Last year was on ticket site first think had to wait still sat up back. THIS YEAR ticket sold our within 24 hours. Now on wait list for 3 to tickets was told will probably one get one. I
Am sure not I am not the only person to have this issue. Phone school and was told nothing they can do. Maybe this should have some media attention to get school to reassess this policymaking process. ONE VERY ANNOYED PARENT

Couldnt be more happier with the program:) My Kids are just loving the classes and being able to sing/dance/act on stage. It is great to see them so happy and really getting into the theatre scene with the Young Australian Broadway Chorus:)

Very fun program and great teachers! Concerts are spectacular BUT you are only promoted if your "good enough" and kids try their hardest for years and years and you don't get promoted! WAKE UP YABC! Give others the opportunity. The ones who have been there for a long time working their butts off.

This place is awful, all they do is tell you 'you're not good enough' and 'you guys suck'. The people there are rude to the kids and basically make them destroy their voices because they have to shout the songs or they're told they aren't singing loud enough. Would not recommend YABC to anybody who values their confidence, voice or time because all 3 will be destroyed in this hell-hole!

I really want to join. Should I? My mum says I have a beautiful voice.but I cannot hit some notes. I love to dance and I’m actually trying to find a dance school right now. I’m not so Good at acting but was a big role in the Production ‘Shreck the Musical’ My friend Fynn Williams says I should join, but I’m not sure. I don’t want to be forced to anything I don’t want to do, but I Want to compete and show my passion. I’m not flexible, but I’m close to doing the splits. I think I would have a fabulous time here, as I’ve heard wonderful things, but I’m not 100% that this is the place for me. I’m currently 12 years old, and am looking for a after school and on stage activity. Thank you YABC - Lalita

10 years all for nothing. I spent every Saturday singing and dancing for them to tell me I wasn't good enough for "the next level". You get promoted by your "talent" which in most cases was bias and judged on your other work within or outside YABC. Very few who have talent get promoted. They crushed not only my own dream of becoming a performer, but hundreds of others who spent years in the same group working so hard and being told they had talent when every December they would be shattered to discover they were still in the same group. I loved what I did with YABC and the friends I made will last a lifetime, however the competitiveness and hierarchy of the classes is ridiculous.
