Yarraville Village Family Medical Centre reviews
33 Just had a consult with Dr. Cooper. He was absolutely wonderful, and so caring and generous with his time. It's been a long time since I've felt genuinely heard by a doctor.
Would recommend him for your consults!
The reception staff are lovely also! Very warm and approachable.
Some people should never go into medicine, and this clinic is full of them. I’ve seen 6 doctors there over the years and all the experiences were so bad it almost sounds made up. Too many times i walked out of there crying. Forget about going there if you need a diagnosis. Repeat prescriptions only. The rudest receptionists ever as well, it’s totally acceptable for them to loudly laugh at clients who just called behind their back. (It can be about their accent or wanting to book an appointment asap: “Get this, what an idiot”. The only good thing about this clinic is it’s location and the lady doing blood tests. The rest is just inhumane.
I took my disability client here and the way he was treated and talked down to by the reception staff was disgusting. If you go to this clinic be prepared to deal with miserable staff.
This place was great when I first booked in. And to be fair, I love the doctors. However, I've since been burned too many times by one of the receptionists who has made it a gamble as to whether I enjoy going here. Their recent policies as to how they manage respiratory symptoms make it impossible to use them as a practice for our children, and recently it seems the only time you're allowed to make an appointment is when you're well. Would not currently recommend, hopefully they go back to their old ways soon.
Do not recommend anyone go here! Extremely unprofessional & untrustworthy doctors, reception staff and overall clinic management
I am so happy with the way this practice treats their patients. I have had dealings with a number of Doctors and always felt listened to and empathised with. Recently my daughter, who was a patient at another Medical Practice, transferred to Dr Marie Elder. She had been suffering from chest pains and fluctuations in her heartbeat for eighteen months. Her doctor insisted it was anxiety but Abbie felt it was more. Dr Elder sent her for a number of tests and was so empathetic and persistent in searching for a diagnosis. My daughter cried in relief when Dr Elder came up with a diagnosis that took into account all the symptoms. She now has a referral to a cardiologist, finally. Thank you Dr Elder for listening.
Dr Maree Elder is an incredibly talented and kind GP and I'm glad to have found her. Clinic is very centrally located in Yarraville and the staff at the front desk are wonderful, too.
Dr Clare Roczniok is highly skilled doctor here who is trauma informed, thorough in assessment and wholistic in treatment. Super kind and funny woman who is super down to earth would very much recommend.
Fantastic level of care at this clinic. Dr Maree Elder is caring, thorough and wonderful with kids. ️
Charged for a double appointment because the website screwed up. No apology from reception staff or anything to help, just "our system says you booked a long appointment, therefore you pay for it" Don't attend if you can avoid it. The reception staff are rude and obviously don't care about the patients.
Worst. I was kept waiting for over 40 minutes - if I'd been late 40 minutes, I would have paid a fee but apparently my time is expendable. I eventually had to leave as I couldn't wait any longer and they had no idea when I'd be going in to see the Doctor. Just not OK to treat patients like that. They should text you if the Doctor is running very behind as a common courtesy.
Went there for a referral to Psychiatrist for PTSD assessment, saw doctor for 15 minutes, she decided somehow I had bi-polar and I ended up illegally detained at Werribee Mercy Hospital Claire Moore Building for 11 days.
I've seen Dr Rankin and Dr Ho. They always give their very best, speak to you like an intelligent person and discuss problems in-depth. They never make you wait too long, unlike other medical practices. Receptionists are friendly and communicative. I have never been misdiagnosed here. I think it is worth to pay a private practice and get some money back off Medicare rather than to go to a clinic where everything is free (as I've been misdiagnosed before). Convenient to the inner West
Dr Claire and Rankin are my best Drs. Please anyone thinking of this practice do not use Dr Dunning, very moody abrupt and usually slams stuff if he seems frustrated typical Englishman has a superiority complex.
Friendly and supportive Medical Centre. I have been a patient there for over 13 years, and over that time I have seen a number of doctors. All have been extremely caring and thorough. They have gone above and beyond to ensure that I was cared for. The administration staff are equally amazing. Highly recommend.
Wonderfully thorough doctors who genuinely care about their patients. Always friendly and go above and beyond.
I found all the doctors to be friendly and genuinely helpful, although please be cautious of Dr Ho. I have tinnitus and was seeking help for my anxiety before the next stage of my treatment. He completely lacked sympathy, was unhelpful and in return I have another spike. He was also very dismissive of osteopathic therapy, which I genuinely found that it helped alleviate my symptoms.
I asked for a referral for cognitive behavioural therapy and he explained rather vaguely that my life insurance will go up. Therefore, no. After discovering I can save up to $124.00 per session with a referral, I have decided I have encountered a foolish doctor. My life insurance does not factor into this equation. I also had asked if Dr Ho could assist me in a CDM (Chronic Disease Management) plan and he was unable to assist me in that also.
Instead of trying to reach the morally superior high ground, maybe try and listen to patients about their needs. I have found myself currently to be at the most vulnerable and stressed in my entire life and Dr Ho left me feeling hopeless. Avoid this man if you can, and find a good doctor and stick to them.
I've seen a number of the doctors at this practice and have always found them to provide wonderful care for both myself and my children. I love that you can book online (even as a new patient) and I've also found the medical receptionists, pathology nurses and nurse practitioner to be very helpful.
Appalling clinic, should not have to wait over 3 weeks to receive promised referral and support by physician. Reception staff are just as appalling, providing no other solution than to wait a week for a new appointment. Matters of Mental Health should be made more of a high priority. No wonder the rate of suicide is so high in this country, receiving support SHOULD NOT be this challenging. Disgusting.
Customer service at this place is horrendous. I am a new resident of the area and have been treated very badly by the snobby receptionist who refuses to get me an appointment with a doctor because I am a new patient. Her phone manner is appalling and she bluntly does not want to give me an appointment due to 'existing clientele'. What does that mean? On top of this she has been extremely rude and unhelpful. DO NOT bother with this place.
