My older dog Rosie has been seeing Dr Ryan at the Lilydale clinic for a little while. I took over her care about a year ago. Rosie has some complex care needs with one eye but he's always attentive to her needs.

You're in good hands with Ben and Kim, they're both excellent. My animals respond well to people who care, and they do. Excellent service and knowledge. Thanks guys.

I recently had Dr Young out for my horse and had a great experience. He was very professional, friendly and thorough. He clearly communicated the issue, treatment, potential complication scenarios & subsequent trouble shooting, and then provided an excellent follow up.

The receptionist was also lovely and very helpful, setting a positive first encounter with the clinic. Thanks so much for the super care guys

Super impressed with Kim and every aspect of her care x Emergency on a Sunday, my horses leg swollen, hot and sore…swelling extending up the leg…she came straight away and gave her such good care.

And when swelling didn’t fully settle we decided to do xrays and an ultrasound. The quality of the images and the thorough explanations were very impressive.

I’ve recently moved into the area and like to support local businesses. In 2 days I spent around $500 for 2 consultations including a blood test and a probiotic with still no answer as to what the issue was. My Golden Retriever was then prescribed antibiotics and a painkiller with the cost being a whopping $159 for the 2 meds only. After being a pet owner for many years this seem exorbitant. I then compared the costing with 2 other semi local vets I had used before. As suspected 100% more. When I questioned, I was told that’s just the charge and they pass on what the suppler chargers them. If this is true I think I would be resourcing my supplier. Like I am resourcing a new vet. Good staff, good care but expect to pay double for medication.

The male vet who answered after hours is rude and honestly doesn’t care if your pet lives or dies! I was happy to drive to get my pet urgent assistance yet he said I lived to far away and he wouldn’t help even after begging him and telling him I would come to him. Due to this my baby goat has passed away.

Because I can’t reply to you Ben I’ve had to update my comment! I never hung up on you, I asked you if you knew anywhere I could take him and you said try Mansfield in the morning or your local vet. I called you as your website states you attend to livestock and you are an animal HOSPITAL with an EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT! I was never rude to you and even thanked you for your help (lack of). You were the rude one and couldn’t care less for my pet as he is livestock. Read all the reviews Ben because it clearly shows you are the one that needs an attitude adjustment!

Just wanted to say a huge “thank you” to Ben and the team at Yarra Ranges Animal Hospital.
It’s been a long and difficult path for Barty. Cruciate ligament surgeries, plate removal, lumbar-sacral disease, epidurals…… we are finally at a place where he is comfortable and able to restart his favourite activities (chasing anything, beach adventures and eyeing off seagulls!).
I was referred to Ben because of his expertise in orthopaedics and I wanted a second opinion. I had difficulty accessing a vet during the pandemic and went to another service for Barty. Whilst they were very attentive, I didn’t have confidence in them.
I went to see Ben and was impressed by his knowledge and professionalism. He also has the most amazing team of professional and compassionate staff. The vets, nurses and reception staff have all been fantastic.
Ben has been honest and supportive through the decision making process and as a nurse, I really appreciated his attention to detail.
Barty loves visiting the practice and has a great “bromance” with Ben. After all the surgery and discomfort, the fact that he thinks visiting the vets is a great day out speaks volumes to the care and service we have received.

Lack of care and follow ups

Ben was rude and condescending
Also made rude jokes at my dogs expense

Ryan tried his best but when your superiors override every decision it’s not a great sign

Saw them for a small cut on the foot which now may lead to having his leg amputated

Changed vets to Maroondah Vet Clinic where they show much more care and compassion

Regret coming here in the first place

The amazing staff from Yarra ranges vets made a house call this morning to put to rest a 14yr old staffy in his own home. They were so kind, caring and compassionate. They went above and beyond. I can’t thank them enough for their exceptional service.

I was recommended to see Ben in regards to having my dogs Cruciate done. He was great. Very friendly and well knowable. We are about to have the other knee done there also.

So happy to have found Yarra Ranges Animal hospital for my animals. The quality of care is the best I've ever received in the 50 years of owning animals and visiting many vets over these years. Highly recommended, been taking my dog there for 10+ years and even though I live on the other side of town now it's worth the trip. Highly professional, excellent customer service and above and beyond friendly.

Highly recommend this vet clinic! All the staff including Ben who just did a huge acl surgery on my older husky Kaiser! They made the effort to go out of their way to let me know how Kaiser was travelling with the surgery multiple times on the day, they were happy to answer all questions I had and thoroughly! They were also very clear on the price expectations which to me is super important! Very happy with the services felt like they truly cared about my dog!

Forever grateful for the kindness and professionalism shown to us and our precious pets by all the staff in this practice. Dr Kim and Fiona gently helped ease our beautiful Zoe out of her suffering today, and they were as gentle with us as they were with our gorgeous tuxedo cat.
It is these times that become etched in our memory, and we appreciate the generous serve of kindness and honesty, associated with wonderful clinical skill.

We took Cookie to your animal hospital in Lilydale yesterday and I just have to say the staff should all be so proud of their work. The care provided and reassurance to us was out of this world. We even received a follow up phone call today with no “you need to get a second appointment”. Just helpful advise to put us at ease.

It was cheaper than both other places we have been to and the service and making us new puppy parents comfortable was just so amazing. We won’t be going anywhere else. From admin to how they worked around covid restrictions, to making our pup feel less anxious when we couldn’t be with him to the vet calling us to let us know what they were looking at to then even clipping his nails because we asked if they had a grooming service coz everywhere is booked.
They just went above and beyond.

Every other appointment since they have been so thorough and lovely and when I’ve called panicked that our puppy is acting strange or eaten something they are just so helpful and always have a solution.

Thanks so much. This is a place that truely cares about their puppy patients.

Couldn't have been less helpful. Came in asking for some general information, left feeling as if I'd done something to offend them. Ben and receptionist both sitting at counter.

Took our 10 year old Dobe to YRAH two weeks ago after he ate bamboo cuttings which pierced his intestines causing infections and other issues. He was quickly admitted, diagnosed and prioritised for surgery which was successful albeit with a significant recovery period. We then opted to move him to the Animal Emergency centre at Mt Waverly as they provide 24 hour observation which is unavailable anywhere locally.

He seemed to be improving so we checked him out on Sunday afternoon however by Monday morning it was clear something wasn’t right and we took him back to YRAH. Once again he was admitted and quicky given the emergency care he needed. We got him back last Saturday afternoon and his recovery since then has been fantastic though he still has a fair way to go.

At all times our boy was afforded the highest standard of care and we were communicated with several times daily. At one point, not eating was putting his repaired intestines at risk and the staff went as far as buying charcoal chicken and fillet steak to tempt him. No stone was left unturned and we couldn’t be more thankful to the team for the care and attention they provided our boy.

Today we went through the most devastating experience of having our beautiful and incredible dog pass away. The Yarra Ranges Lilydale staff were so warm, kind and patient with myself and my family as we grieved and said goodbye to our angel. Olivia in particular was so lovely to us throughout this terrible time, and we are so thankful for her kindness. Thank you Olivia! The other staff were also amazing (Thursday 11: 30am 12/03/2020) who showed us compassion and care during phone conversations and face to face contact. Thank you Yarra Ranges Animal Hospital, my family and I appreciate your hard work for the community.
