Yabby Lake

Was turned away at 11am when the winery was empty because they didn't want to serve a group of 10 blokes, all lovers of wine. Pretentious at best.

This was our second visit to Yabby Lake for lunch and it did not disappoint.
Beautiful meals with two glasses of wine witch our lovely waitress recommended.

After living in Mornington for years, we finally went to Yabby Lake for Sunday lunch. Well, we should have come here years ago. A casual dining experience with either a two or three course option on offer. We had the grilled octopus and cured salmon as starters followed by confit duck and blue eye cod. The food was seasoned, cooked and presented well. Dessert was equally delicious and we enjoyed our visit. Staff was attentive and courteous. Value for money is good with 90p/p for three courses.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting this charming vineyard, and it truly exceeded my expectations. The picturesque countryside setting was a sight to behold, with rolling hills and sprawling vineyards that created a serene and inviting atmosphere.

Speaking of the wines, they were nothing short of exceptional. From the crisp and refreshing whites to the rich and full-bodied reds, each wine had its own distinct personality and flavor profile. It was evident that a lot of care and expertise went into producing these wines, and it paid off in every sip.

The vineyard's restaurant offered a delectable menu that showcased an impressive set of ingredients. Each dish was thoughtfully crafted and beautifully presented. The flavors were a harmonious blend of local flavors and international influences, making every bite a culinary adventure.

Fabulous view over the vineyard and so lovely to see kangaroos hopping through! Food was wonderful with thoughtful vegetarian options. Service was attentive. All in all top experience!

At my daughter’s suggestion we went to Yabby Lake Winery to celebrate my birthday.
We had a gorgeous lunch seated by the window overlooking the wines.
The staff were warm and friendly, the set menu delicious and l look forward to returning.

We had a very nice lunch on Tuesday at Yabby Lake, the wait staff and bar staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere in the restaurant was great and of course the food was delicious.

Thanks for looking after us. I loved my wine tasting experience and my husband was extremely grateful that you allowed him to bring his zero alcohol beer (as he cannot drink alcohol due to his kidneys).
The staff were all friendly and accommodating and the meal was plentiful. (we had the lamb and potatoes)
Next time we will try something different.
This experience made for a wonderful 43rd wedding anniversary!

As a part of my Sperm Donation Australia tour of Victoria, I ventured out for a day in the Mornington Peninsula and first stop I landed here, did some wine tasting and walked away with a bottle of the 2021 Syrah. Great spot!

Good views and great wine tasting experience! The restaurant was a huge let down. No options for people with food intolerances and the waiting staff look stressed and unfriendly. The lunch was definitely not worth the price.

Service first class, as was the food, just lovely, always love going to Yabby Lake the quality is always the same.

A beautiful welcoming from the host, all the staff were very polite and attentive, staff answered all questions we had about the menu! Food was delicious, fresh and beautiful presentation, well done kitchen the steak and scallops cooked to perfection couldn’t fault any of the dishes!

Hidden gem located not far from Mount Matha and only 5 mins off the Peninsula link. Indoor and outdoor dining options with amazing wines and food (set menu). We tasted a few Yabby Creek wines as well as some Red Claw wines. Views from the deck overlooking the vineyards towards the back of Mount Matha are gorgeous. Tasteful art to find.
Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Both Yabby Lake and Heathcote Estate are owned by Robert and Mem Kirby, of Village Roadshow and wines are curated by renowned winemaker Tom Carson. Well with a visit.

Absolutely loved the atmosphere, food and our waitress Paula was fabulous and looked after us all so well, we will absolutely be back.

Came here today for a surprise celebratory lunch with my husband. I must say that what made this day so memorable was Paula! She was so friendly, always met us with a smile, great recommendation and just really great positive energy ️ thanks so much for making this day so memorable Paula
For lunch we opted for the 3 course menu. Started with a terrine and kingfish, lamb shoulder and snapper for mains then finished off with a chocolate torte and lemon creme brulee. Food was above average and the desserts were the stand out!
For drinks we got a half bottle of the 2021 Yabby Lake Pinot Noir, glass of pinot gris, rose and a matching sweet wine for dessert. All were really light and refreshing for a hot day
Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a chill afternoon!
