Have emailed twice to cancel my membership with no response. First email I sent as I couldn't get through on their phone as they had a training day with an auto response. So three touch points and I have heard nothing back. That's not good enough, don't allow emails if you didn't respond. The company is heavily trained in guilt tripping those who call to cancel membership, if you are someone who isn't good at saying no I would advise not to join up. Positives are that the letters you can send and receive your sponsor are very sweet.

I am quite disappointed with WV. A few years ago, I started sponsoring two children and I carefully selected them as I would be sponsoring them till the end of their sponsorship term. Over the years, one of the children moved away from the area so I was allocated a new child - fair enough. Recently, the same thing has happened with the second child and I'm not okay with the lack of communication or inclusion in these decision making processes. Sponsors should have a say in the children they want to sponsor. The emotional connection you develop with the child is completely cut off and at the very least, the sponsor should have the opportunity to decide who they would like to sponsor next. This process is not okay.

They treat their staff horribly. For an organization that purports to let humanity flourish, maybe their staff is not part of humanity

Before you give any money to this wasteful organisation understand that most of it goes to incompetence and waste. Staff there are only interested in themselves and what they can get out of the business.
