Workshop 24

So have purchased a pair of metal legs and paid up front all the way back in February 2023, it's now May and have no repsone or a single update to where my product will be finished. Only asking for a simple update so I can know when to expect something I have paid for in full. Have tried calling and leaving a message on the same platform that I made the purchase on multiple which seems reasonable that I be contacted back on. I hope this negative review pushes along something that I was promised would take a couple of weeks as It's now going on 4 months.

Only wish I had read these reviews first and I would have gone elsewhere, I had a similarly bad experience with Paul.

Ordered a very simple bench top but nonetheless the two week estimate turned into three months with zero communication. Polite emails requesting an update were ignored, phone calls not answered, messages not returned. Just very unprofessional and no concept of customer service. Delays can happen, I get it, but there's no excuse for radio silence.

When it was eventually ready the dimensions were off, the edges weren't routed as specifically requested, there were scratches in the surface and the bench top is obviously bowed.

Just go somewhere else.there are plenty of quality furniture makers available in Melbourne.

We got a bathroom vanity made by Paul and are delighted. He met the deadline, held the piece for us until the stone was ready, and then delivered at the time/day requested. Beautiful work and we are so happy! Now we have a storage mirror, another mirror and another cabinet ordered- so excited!
I did make regular contact with Paul as he was busy and I’m new to this process (plus I needed to meet builder deadlines) and Paul was very good about it.

People like Paul should not be allowed to be in business.

After significant delays our table was finally delivered FAUTY! Not only did it have a massive crack, it was also significantly bowed (4mm) in the middle. After contacting Paul on August 2021 and showing him pictures of the defects he agreed to replace the table top. 7 follow up email later, endless excuses and delays, 16 months have passed and we are still waiting. The last email was simply unanswered by him. I cant even sell it on marketplace as everyone who comes to view it instantly comments on the bend in the middle of the table.
I have never written a negative review in my life but this is disgraceful.

Do not use this business.

I had a very regrettable experience dealing with Paul. Final product was not to a high standard with defects. Resulted in disappointing and frustrating outcome.
The final product took 4 months instead of 2. Despite promises of timely delivery there was no pro-active communication. Also felt lack of apology or sympathy as a client.
Instead only a variety of reasons on why couldn’t be done on time as a reaction after asking about status after each new deadline passed.
There was no offer of a refund or even discount despite the issues we incurred resulting from delays. There wasn’t the requested and promised 3 layers of coat so feel cheated.

If I could rate a zero I would. Paul was eager to take our $2200 deposit for a tv unit and 2 small tables with the promise of completion within 8-10 weeks.
He came up with every excuse for not having them finished: short staffed, the flu and a family emergency overseas. On 3 occasions he told me that our work had been started (in writing). At the 19 week mark, after being fobbed off so many times, we fronted the Paul at the workshop. When shown the communications that he had started our job he could not
show me anything that he had done and told me that it was a mistake.
We got our money back thankfully.
I would not believe a word that came out of his mouth.
DREADFUL experience.

We went to another furniture maker and within 3 weeks we had beautifully made items.

Love my new furniture from my OTHER professional craftsman!

Paul made my dining table back in 2019. Before that, I looked for a good quality dining table for a long time. Most of the furniture stores have tables made with very cheap quality wood or if you find one then the price is way too much. I also couldn't find the table size and varnish that I was looking for within my budget.
Paul made my table with really good quality wood. I was able to choose the size and stain/varnish color. He was so professional and helpful in the whole process.
I got so many complements from my friends and families about my table. The delivery guy that I hired also said it is quite heavy good quality table.
I have kids at home, so the table is used all the time. I haven't stained it yet since I bought it but you can't tell.
I am very happy with my table and the experience. Highly recommend anyone wanting a good quality custom made table.

This is not a scam review Paul - we met in person and our invoice number is 1859. This is simply a disappointed customer that you failed.

Shocking Experience. We ordered a custom table and bench. The owner told us this would be done in 8 weeks and took a down payment of about half the amount. After about 9 weeks, we still had not heard from him and followed up, letting him know politely that we had sold our dining table already. He said our table was next in line and would be finished soon. This turned out to be a lie. Over the following weeks, we heard a lot of excuses. The owner not once provided us with an update proactively, not once picked up his phone, not once returned one of our calls. However he had plenty of time to argue over text messages. He did not apologise once. After 14 weeks he still did not agree to finish the table within the next 2 weeks (which would have been double the agreed time) and instead advised he would "not be pressured into finishing work". We demanded a full refund. Never dealt with this kind of unprofessionalism before. Zero respect for customers.

Really great guys to deal with down at Workshop 24. I had an idea of the table I wanted and the team down there helped me put it onto paper and get exactly what I wanted.
As it was a custom job, I knew there would be a wait, but it was right on time and the finished product was better than I could have hoped for.
Definitely will be using them again

Absolutely in love with our new table. We experienced a bit of a delay but to be expected considering the multiple lockdowns and timber shortages.

We were kept up to date with timing and we were assisted with organising delivery with no fuss and within a day of the specified pick up date.

Really happy with the table and already thinking of getting a few more pieces made.

Avoid at all cost. 7 months to get 2 vanities completed @$3800. Full of excuses when I arrived to pick up the job (hour drive away) on a day arranged a week in advance when told the job was done, only to find it had not been started even. (8 week lead time) due to being under time pressure on a house build unable to order elsewhere in time to complete bathrooms we proceeded with this company, BIG mistake. When finally delivered 2 weeks later was of poor quality with draws backwards to where sinks were going, and no clearance allowed for the undermount sink, and not sealed. (Blamed apprentices doing the work, apparently unsupervised, which may explain the poor quality) Took many months of dodging calls to finally get the draws replaced (took 3 visits to complete due to forgetting what he was meant to be doing). Not worth the hassle and wish we had gone elsewhere

I have yet to place an order with this company, because it has been 3 days since I have called and left messages, tried to chat on messenger, sent message from their contact form on their website. Not a single acknowledgement or reply. I'm not sure if I want to put any order through this business
