Woolworths Highett reviews
55Good Woolies this one. Great fresh and meat sections. Cheese, Deli and meat counters. Big store
Such a shame Woolies is mainly thinking about shareholders these days and not so much about customers. The first bad decision was to let the lovely butcher go. Now all meat is packed and hyper expensive. It is mostly self service as there is no enough staff to help. It is sad to see how so many products have gone up 50-100% since last year. I have now decided to buy at Aldi. Prices have gone up but no more than 20-30% and there is still a human helping you to check out 100% of the time without a machine telling you forgot things in the trolley and then wasting time until they come to help.
Such a pity. I was a Woolies loyal customer 12 months ago and now I am a 100% detractor. Stop increasing your profit margins, bring back the butcher and the bakery which is also gone.
A smaller woolies and always well stocked with all items.
Has heaps of parking and an easy accessible direct to boot which is great.
Love the deli section with a specialist cheese section.
This woolies has the full range of groceries compared to the smaller ones in the area. Shelves often seem to not be stocked though
The new store layout and the new trolleys are not as good as the old and the butcher shop is closed
Worst establishment ever. Wrong prices bad employees and machines. Items missing and always feel like I'm being watched.
When i went in there they had a lot of empty shelves they had run out of a lot of stock was in there today and it is a lot better shelves are full
Same place my mum makes sure I drive her at least weekly. Shame there is only 2 disabled parking spots.
Large shop, lots of space, not much variety. Health food is always put of stock. Not enough sugar free options in health food aisle or fridge or freezer.
I'm from Brisbane and I found that you're store very well stocked offering more products than here in Qld.
Staff were very friendly.well done team.
A larger than average supermarket that offers virtually everything, great specials, clearance stock and pleasure to shop at. This has now had a make over of deli, sushi bar, seafood, and fresh butcher store.
A big store with plenty of variety. Convenient to the railway station, across the road and close to bus transport bus 828 which runs from Berwick to Hampton station. Plenty of fresh fruit vegetables and fresh bakery items. I purchased a lamington cake with jam and fresh cream. It was absolutely delicious. Very pleased to see manned checkouts who provided great services.
Big Woolworths with an updated deli zone and sushi counter. Large fresh produce and meat sections. Usually has what I want in stock.
Good parking space.
Didn't like the layout at all.
Pricing is also not clearly visible.
Had a self serve assistant refuse to override a product as it was incorrectly priced on shelf.whole range was incorrectly priced not just that product.she was unapologetic, impertinent and honestly makes you not want to shop there.thank goodness the checkout supervisor was reasonable.
This is newly revamped with convenient underground parking. No coins needed for shopping carts. It's your standard Woolworths fare but the new store layout is nice. Lots of cameras above the aisles!
Pros:
- good location, close to train line and in the shopping center
- butcher is friendly and always happy to help
Cons:
- staff are not trained well. Ask where things are and most of the time they have no clue
- grocery isn’t fresh, not good quality
- lack of variety in products
- the new sale price tag is very hard to see
Good store, clean, lots of parking. They use the new plastic trolleys which are lighter than the old ones. There's lots of space.
This is one of the dozen or so Woolies stores with the Scan & Go system - you scan and bag your items as you shop, then check out with a QR code. Being the interested in new tech and the avoiding human interaction type, I tried it yesterday for the first time.
Pros:
- I could see my total as I shopped.
Cons:
- Scanning as you shop is slower than scanning all your items at once at the end
- You can't pack your stuff as efficiently as you can at the self check out
- When I tried to scan my QR code at the end, nothing happened. I had to go fetch the staff member at the assisted checkout for help. Then the system said she had to "randomly scan 5 items" to verify (I only HAD 5 items). Finally I was able to leave the store with my tiny shop.
I don't understand how this is supposed to save me time.
It will be interesting to see if this project succeeds or not.
I was there this week and "fresh" meat was brown. When I pointed it out to 2 staff they said it was fine it hadn't expired. I said someone could get sick but they didn't care.
Please look before you buy
