Woodards Real Estate Preston reviews
55 A few years ago, I used to rent a property in Brunswick and the lease was managed by Woodards. Between the agent and my landlord (also neighbour), all issues were resolved quickly and I enjoyed good amenity of the property.
I've recently returned to Melbourne and I approached my former agent directly to find me a new place to live. Knowing that I'm a reliable tenant, she contacted all of her colleagues to keep me informed of rental the listings as they became available, and Woodards have found me a place that will suit.
I'm very busy with work and family and short on time, so her efforts have been terrific and very much appreciated.
I've been genuinely delighted by Ana Cavallari's attention and responsiveness and can't recommend her highly enough.
I'm very confident that my new agent, Don Almonte will be just as responsive - so far, so good!
Once I've sold my house (in regional Vic), Woodards will be my first point of call when finding my own place to buy, back in Melbourne.
I'm easy to find if you need clarification about any of the above.
The review I am writing is about the Woodards’ real estate agent we had at our old place, JOE BOVEZZA.
I have never had a worst experience, than the one with Joe. I have never came across a less professional realtor. Incompetent, inefficient, and, on top of everything, always very arrogant in the way he spoke to us.
When my partner and I decided to leave the share-house we were living in, we communicate to him we would be moving early March. He reluctantly agreed and asked us to pay a fee ($220) to transfer the lease from us to the new tenants. A month later, I emailed him asking if we had been removed from the old agreement. He replied, saying that we would be off the lease in July (when our lease would expire anyway). After asking for clarification, we found out he hasn’t communicate that we were moving out to the landlord at all. We were forced to contact his manager. Only after multiple attempts to contact Joe, he reached out to us, saying - within the same phone call - that it was not possible to remove us from the lease until July (although he made us pay the fee for him to do that) and then lied that we had actually been removed from it.
Terrible experience. I can’t believe he still has a job.
Edit: they called me after I post the review and offered to wave the free they had charged us in exchange for deleting the review. Wow
This place is full of scammers and scammers, whoever deals with them should be very careful
Woodards are a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend them and Nick specifically who helped us. He went above and beyond for us and made the process a lot easier. Will definitely use again.
Make sure you keep close contact with the RTA when dealing with their agents. My 12-month lease ended and a friend was going to sign the new lease. This is not a lease transfer, it is a new lease and they tried to charge me near $200 to run “background checks”. This is their usual admin job that their salary pays them to do. They added printing fees and other sneaky fees. I know you probably don’t have a choice with picking real estate agents but I advise you to feel 100% comfortable checking their actions with the RTA. Especially this Woodards.
In 17 years of renting properties and dealing with 10 or so different real estate agencies, Woodards Preston is without a doubt the worst, most unprofessional, deceitful and fraudulent in existence. How they still have their licence is beyond belief.
What can you expect from staff when they are lead by a director who ignores communication, attempts at fraudulently making me pay for pre existing house damages, withholds bond and doesn't respond to emergency maintenance requests foe 3 months. VCAT and consumer affairs all over you like a bad rash.
Sharmene was my agent and she's been very helpful throughout. I was new in Australia and looking for my first rental house. She helped me and guided me very well. One of the sweetest person I've met in Australia.
I'm not really sure if this is the case with others but my experience with them is that, it's really hard to call or contact with your agent. Most of time, you can only email them if you want your message across.
Carmen is a fantastic property manager. She is responsive, pro-active, and develops a wonderful relationship with both tenants and property owners. Nothing is too much trouble for Carmen. I highly recommend Carmen and Woodards Preston.
Rental property management people do not return calls despite the message on their phone saying they will do so before the close of business that day.
And I'm not even a tenant - I can only imagine the frustration tenants must experience.
Can not recommend the amazing team at Woodards enough! They responded to us straight away and were so accommodating. So happy to have met Anthony, Carmen and the team! If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Thank you for your help and support. Stacey & Chris
Emergency plumbing situation on Boxing Day was handled very professionally and promtly. Thank you Anthony
I have dealt with Anthony Cardinale for over 10 years and i find him to be reliable trustworthy agent and would recommend him highly.
I've been in private rentals for over a decade and had more than my fair share of bad real estate agents, Woodards Thornbury are the absolute worst of the worst.
We requested to add a tenant to the house, Irena Todorovski took over six weeks to get back to say that the owner refused with no reason provided. The rental tenancy act specifically states that landlords cannot refuse an application without a valid reason, but clearly the agents at Woodards don't care about tenants rights.
When leaving the rental property I had to go to VCAT to get my name off the lease as the Agent Don Almonte (our third agent in a year) failed to process the request for months, offered ridiculous excuses when I called and then just refused to return phone calls.
Do not rent from these people, they will drag their feet with repairs/any rental transfers and make your life hell.

Anthony Cardinale is 1 of a very few outstanding real estate agents. He is most responsive and follows up both tenant and landlord in a timely manner.
He understands its a business transaction but ensures there is a personal touch recognizing both tenant & landlord are both people deserving of respect and acts accordingly.
Highly recommended for great service.
One of the best real estate agents I have worked with.
Lovely staff, always courteous and supportive. Shout out to Anthony Cardinale and Liana Strangis for all their support during the tenancy.
Definitely recommend Woodards to my friends and family
Ana Cavallari is a great agent, she made my moving easier, showed apartments that were fit for my needs and paid attention to every detail of the process. Whenever I need to contact the agency, the staff is very helpful and reliable. I highly recommend renting with Woodards Preston.
My awesome agent, Jarrod left the company. I was worried. But his replacement, Liana, made it comfortable. She is just as awesome as Jarrod. I find this real estate agency very easy to talk to and when you have problems, or trouble getting the rent on time, they are very understanding and have a very human approach. In other words, you don't feel like you are talking to a robot educated to say the same things. When I move I would love to stay with this real estate agent.
Would just like to thank you Anthony Cardinale.
We had made a mistake with our first rent payment and he wavered the fee straight away for us. So grateful to allow us to fix the mistake appreciate it.very quick responsive and solved straight away
Melissa Vitacca has been an absolute breeze to deal with, transitioning my father from our family home into something much smaller was just so transparent. Melissa was supportive, respectful & understanding throughout the whole process and has the absolute patience of a saint! I cannot begin to thank Melissa enough for her time and efforts into everything she did for us, her professionalism is absolutely commendable!
