Just arrived back in Melbourne after an extended holiday, and guess what we miss? Hotpot! We tried Melbourne's newest hotpot spot, Wong's Late Night Hot Pot in the CBD, offering an authentic Chongqing hotpot experience that stays open until 2 am!

The interior has a unique charm, reminiscent of 1980s China, with old-school tables and chairs that transport you back in time. Even the cracked windows add character to the atmosphere. The store features some antique collections, providing an opportunity to impart some cultural knowledge to my kids

With prices starting from $3.80, you can choose from a variety of plates, including greens, seafood, meats, and snacks. The superior soup is made with fresh ingredients, and the servers are incredibly attentive, consistently topping up our soup without us needing to ask (we kept getting bowl after bowl).

Chongqing people said that the taste is still very good, but the soup is a little muddy. I have a small suggestion. If you want to eat the whole pot of red soup, can you prepare a grid? The nine-square grid does not have to be the four-square grid, otherwise the dish will not be cooked properly.

The hot pot tastes quite good, and there are many choices of dishes. Moreover, its drinks and desserts are surprisingly novel, and the ice powder is also quite delicious. Overall, it's very good. I'll probably come again.

Highly recommend the tomato soup base, it was really good! The pricing was pretty affordable given how much we ordered. They also had a big range of meats and sides to choose from. Love that there was unlimited sides! Will definitely be coming again:)
