One of absolute faves to go regularly for coffee. Staff are wonderful and great coffee & pastrys - outside area for dogs & staff treat my dog so well.

If you love frozen fish from the packet then Wombat hill is the cafe for you. Expect one cherry tomato cut in half and one slice of cucumber with basic basic salad.
Enjoy.

What a great little place. Food was delicious. Great outdoor area with plenty of heating. Pet friendly. If your in daylesford for the day it's a must stop.

Contrary to what the people of Daylesford would have you believe, Daylesford is only a momentary drive from neighbouring towns such as Ballarat. This gives rise to the opportunity to taste what Reuben sandwiches Wombat Hill House has to offer.

I had ordered the Reuben toasty which was hastily brought out by an individual sporting a Deicide shirt. It’s nice to know atheists are welcome at this establishment. The components of the toasty were well curated, the pastrami and sauerkraut made a nice combo and pickles had a nice tang but didn’t mask the mustard. There did seem to be a surprising lack of cheese which was a slight disappointment however the other ingredients still allowed the sandwich to be enjoyed.

The venue was very accomodating and I see myself returning next time I feel like spontaneously traversing an immensely short distance to Daylesford to enjoy some food.

Loved every single bit of our food and the atmosphere here today. The pork and veal meatballs were flavourful and so filling and the fish and chips were crispy with the perfect ratio of batter to fish. We would definitely recommend this place and will definitely be coming back!

Our fav breakfast place. Staff are always bright and cheerful. And Wombat Hill is a magical place for a walk/stroll. Very pet friendly too. Great in both Winter and Summer.

The BEST burger I've ever had! The Staff and service were both amazing, we missed out on the Danish pastries, but going back bit earlier next time

We always pop into the Wombat Hill House for a quick drink when we stroll around the gardens or in their courtyard with our dog if we're a little peckish.

The mushroom pizza is one of my favourite dishes and they also have a tasty Chai!

Country style ambience, delicious food and super friendly staff. The burger is a must for burger lovers.

We decided to go for breakfast as most cafes are closed on a Sunday in Daylesford. There wasn’t much to choose from on the menu so went with a safe option of the Country Breakfast. It was extremely overpriced and the quality was terrible - hard poached eggs, dry toast, small amount of bacon, etc. Thanks but no thanks, I won’t be back. Stunning location in the botanic gardens but that’s all it has going for it.

Only tried the sweets during the visit — a bit too sweet for me and the people I was with.

Have never been this disappointed in Daylesford. I didn't think it was possible. The website is deceiving as it makes the place and food look very fresh and polished. The food was average and the menu was extremely limited at 11.30am between the breakfast end and lunch start time. There was no flexibility by the staff in that time. The reuben toasties we ordered from the fridge display were different to what we received (a much thicker bread) and this was not explained to us at the time of ordering. There was also no kids menu. We also asked at the time we ordered for a children's colouring page/pencils and this was not brought out to us. We were not told or shown that we could help ourselves to it. The outdoor area is extremely run down and does not look like the photos. We love Daylesford but we're so very disappointed with this experience. A complete waste of money given how many amazing eateries there are in the area. Will not be returning.

After going through the beautiful gardens, we decided to visit the cafe/house for breakfast. The menu states breakfast is finished serving at 11.30am. Despite being in the queue and getting to order at 11.22am, we were told breakfast is over and wouldnt take our order. Highly disappointed, being visitors to the area for a few days we were looking forward to it and ended up leaving.

First, the vibe and service was excellent. The pizza was delicious. My chorizopan was nice, but I think it was tough to eat the sourdough bread; maybe a little over toasted. The home made slaw was nice, if a little too much slightly bitter cabbage. The local lemonade and beers were a good touch. Overall, the place was an excellent place for a nice lunch.

Lovely cafe with a beautiful atmosphere- the cafe has really nice indoor seating and is decorated beautifully, however I think most people would choose to sit outside in the peaceful garden or courtyard areas.

There are lots of little nooks to sit in, surrounded by garden beds with vintage garden furniture. Heaps of people choose to bring their dogs here also.

The food is consistently good, it's a fairly simple menu but each time I've been everything has been a high quality. The focus is on local, seasonal produce which is wonderful.

This place has changed so much since pre-covid. I loved sitting in the back garden surrounded by growing things. Now the plots are all empty when they should be brimming with spring growth. It made me sad. And all the grounds were overgrown with grass. The love in the place has gone.

Beautiful and shaded outdoor courtyard, suitable if you have a furry friend with you. I found the food quite adequate in taste and presentation but overpriced. I found that it cost more than the best Melbourne cafes. $24 for smashed avocado with poached eggs on a single slice of sour dough. A strong skinny late was $5.50 plus 10% for it being a Sunday. I also got overcharged for a croissant. I queried it only to get told that the teaspoon of jam cost $3 extra. (I didn't even ask for jam, I'd asked for butter). Lovely amble through the botanical gardens. The short fern gulley walk very quickly takes you into a different realm.

Super cute spot for lunch. They have a great undercover space which you can hide from the weather while still feeling like you are out in the gardens. They were very accommodating for our large group and the food was nice.

Really good food, the fish and chips were nice and light. The pizza is a bit heavy and oily but still good. Definitely recommend the toasted cheese and ham croissant. Bit of a bug problem (lots of flies, a few bees, wasps and spiders)

Good location but truly awful coffee. Very few vegan options for breakfast - just the usual " we can leave out the egg/butter/cheese", so uncreative these days.
