Over 120 years old. It's a small but effective business that can attend to all your glass needs including lead lights windows and double glazed units.

If it were possible I would give no stars. A few years ago the Howitt st branch installed a 'new' piece of glass in a sliding door. My mower had shattered it with a stone. The glass had previously been tinted. It was taken away and returned later 'fixed'. When the people arrived to replace the tint, they contacted me to explain the glass fitted was unsuitable for tinting, and already had a crack forming out from the frame anyway. Apparently it is well known in the glazing industry, that thermal breakage can occur when tinting is applied to unsuitable glass. The correct glass for tinting is a considerably less expensive product. I rang Robsons and politely bought this to their attention. My call was met with accusations of dishonesty and claims that I must have slammed it shut. Expert opinion concluded that the glass fitted must have had a rough edge, so when the frame was tightened it fractured. Anybody can make a mistake, but the young chap who did the work was afraid to own up. Subsequently the door became inoperable, with rubber seals falling out, and the frame loosening. Robsons were prepared to redo the job for a discounted additional payment, claiming our insurance company would pay anyway. But quite reasonably insurance wouldn't cover the faulty workmanship. Project Windows did the job again flawlessly! And for about half the original price charged by Robsons glass. After years without a reply to emails appealing for decency, Kayla Robson offered to look into the matter (In response to unflattering comments on their Facebook site). She asked that I delete my comments in good faith pending further investigation, and I complied. I provided her with photos and all documents, but after several months, no outcome was communicated. And no reply given to further enquiries. Please check thoroughly any work done BEFORE paying the invoice, because you will not be treated with integrity by this company. Sadly, I'm sure there are well intended staff working at Robsons glass, but the arrogant and disrespectful management, should pause for thought and revise their outdated and very mean attitude to customer service. Just incredibly disappointing from a family company. I am happy to forward proof of my claims to any interested party. I have photos, emails etc. My family, friends and community all actively discourage engaging Robsons glass for any work. Thankyou for taking the time to read this, and hopefully you will have a better experience elsewhere. It is obvious this company is capable of excellence in glazing. That makes it even harder to accept how such a straightforward job as glass replacement, went so horribly wrong. Accidents can happen, it's what happens next that distinguishes a forward thinking company from the others. UPDATE, since writing this review, Kayla Robson has contacted me threatening legal action for defamation, if I continue posting any reviews in a public forum. She has restated that I should have accepted the offer to replace the cracked glass for a discounted additional payment. Seriously, most businesses would offer to replace the faulty product or refund the money. If you took your car to a mechanic, picked it up apparently fixed, paid the bill only to discover it not actually fixed, you might not feel confident paying further money to have it 'fixed' again. If you make a mistake in business, as in life generally, own it and apologize. People respect that. There is nothing to be gained from digging yourself into a deeper hole. The young chap stuffed up on this job, but was afraid to lose face by admitting it. That is an issue between Robsons glass and their employee. This situation has never been about the money, just integrity and simple accountability. Robsons glass need to stand behind their work. Not make threats about doing whatever it takes to protect their reputation. It should never be too late to do the right thing. That is something that really counts toward a good reputation.
