Wine Bank On View reviews
40This is 6th time I am going here … I am a sojourner and love going places. If in Bendigo, please visit support local …
Pretty good. Bread was burnt and a bit unpleasant to eat so we left most of it but the rest of the food was good. Great chips and I really liked the rare roast beef brushetta.
Ate here twice during the recent writers' festival (also recommended!) Bendigo turns on the cosy charm and Wine Bank does as well. We sat outside for the first meal, there was a heater in the building's portico and the four of us had a lovely time, lovely atmosphere. Food is good. Wine is good as well. Second time it was just two of us, we sat in front of the fire, couch and coffee table set up. Some feedback though: table needed a wipe down and I had to ask for water for the table.
Great wine, food and Ambience, well worth a visit to this old classic building and business
Great spot for a casual Friday night drink. Keely was fantastic, suggested a lovely bottle of bubbles and was super friendly and attentive.
Great venue with delicious pizza. Unfortunately I left the Friday night pizza hungry as our table was last to be given our piece throughout the night. Would have been nice to see a little more food.
I understand why there are no young people at this place.
Great service but unfortunately the meal was definitely not worth it. Avoid the Lobster Roll (2 sliders and some kettle chips) wouldn't even count as an entree at another restaurant.
$60 spent and we were starving, walked up a bit further and had a phenomenal meal.
Definitely look around.
It was quite a cute old building even with a wood fire inside. My friends and I ordered a few drinks as well as chips and a chicken burger. Maybe our Melbourne expectations were a little high but the food was pretty disappointing. The chicken burger came in a takeout container though we were eating in, it had a soggy bun, and was more of a roll than a burger. The chips were under salted, a bit soggy and smaller than expected. We did go during white night so maybe they were just pretty swamped. The drinks were ok.
Love the old building. The interior is cosy and comfortable, massive ceiling height. Soup was delicious and meatballs yummy. Went in afternoon after seeing the Elvis exhibition across the road. Enjoyed glass of wine and food with my sisters.
What a groovy place to grab a few drinks. Excellent wine choices and tasty tapas food. Lots of really local wine, but also many international options too. Highly recommend.
I absolutely loved this wine bar! The food is remarkable. So delicious. The menu is designed in a share, snacky style which I love. So you don't come here for a large, full meal. You come here to experience a range of smaller dishes.
The service was really good even though it was busy. I'll definitely be back!
Spectacular selection of wines, although less available by the glass than I had expected. A little underwhelmed by the food offering, but the wine is the main deal after all.
Welcoming place with excellent selection of wine. The bar tenders give great recommendations. Tracey the accomodations manager is amazing to work with. Highly recommend.
Used to be Great but has dropped off, had Coffee and the table was Grotty and Sticky, asked Waitress about getting it wiped clean and she looked at me as if I had 2 Heads, and the Coffee was just Luke Warm, Slack!
Interesting small entrees and our main waitress (in black) was helpful, pleasant and efficient. However she missed out on a tip because the second waitress, in floral, was so rude when we, having finished coffee, asked her to see whether our desert was on its way.
What a beautiful restaurant. We went to enjoy the light show in Rosiland Park. With the really long line we decided to have a quick drink, sitting in the outdoor dining are with warm cosy heaters we enjoyed g&t's, proscecco and wine. Cosy seating area with friendly service.
I went to wine bank today for lunch with friends it was awesome the waitress so nice service was very good, the food was amazing and very fast. I had the special Taiwan popcorn chicken the flavour so good and the chicken so juicey better than the one I had in Melbourne China town, I definitely will come back. Thank you
My partner and I came here for a cute date night tonight as we came here a few years ago and it was fab. BUT - what a disaster it was tonight. Hands down the worst food wait we’ve ever experienced. I booked for dinner (Friday night) and we were seated at 7: 30. When we ordered 10 mins later we were told there would be a 40 minute wait for food. That’s fine - not ideal, but we can deal with it. An hour and a half later we finally got our two entrees (a saganaki and three potato wrapped prawns). After waiting an extra 30 mins after the entrees, I enquired about our mains and we were told our mains would talk an extra 25 minutes again. So at this point it’s almost 2 hours for a main meal. We are BEYOND starving and annoyed. We’ve had a few drinks but after waiting the promised 25 minutes and enquiring about the meals again (it’s almost 10pm at this point) we are told that it’s going to be even longer. There was no saving the service at this point so we decided to leave without eating mains. The place waived our entrees and drinks and for that we are thankful. But the owner of the place was clearly dining/drinking next to us and we were disappointed that after a 2.5 hour wait for meals he couldn’t even come up to us and have a chat/apologise for the utterly unacceptable service. He clearly new we were not happy as well. The people next to us came AFTER us, got their meals, ate and left in the entire time we were there and we still hadn’t eaten anything past a bit of cheese and three prawns! Taking the time to apologise face to face in your own establishment when the service was dismal, is the difference between a lazy owner and a great owner. If that had happened we wouldn’t of even taken the time to leave a bad review. After reading the owners replies to people retelling their bad experiences however, the way we were treated makes so much more sense now.
We came across this lovely wine bar in Bendigo and stopped for a glass of the local wine and had their Charcuterie Board. There was a fire place and the atmosphere was just right. The staff were great and the prices great too. We would definitely stop here again.
Dropped in yesterday, with Melbourne in shutdown and regional Vic on lighter COVID restrictions. So we were impressed by welcoming staff who were serious about QR registration and identification/address. Excellent food and a great drop of Sicilian Chiantari wine. Thanks, Michael
