Wilson Hall reviews
7 We visited this hall for the first time recently since it was hosting Melbourne Rare Book Fair 2023. We signed up for the guided book tour.
The hall was decked out perfectly for each individual collector of books and rare antiques. It was really rewarding to see the collection with the tour group. A big thanks to Susan for being our guide, and to everyone else who took the time to meet us and explain a little more about their stand, collection and favourite pieces of historical artefacts.
One of our favourites was Douglas Stewart Fine Books, and Books for Cooks. Anything maps, food, and cartography related we love.
The hall was a perfect location and accommodated so many beautiful book shops from Australia. We recommend going to the next exhibition and if it’s held at Wilson Hall again.
Super easy to get to. A tram ride, and a short walk up Wilson Street, very easy. And lots of volunteer staff to help guide you to the hall.
Went to this hall for my exams. They can fit more than 370 students in this hall at a time. However the tables are small and you may struggle to look through your material efficiently. Your bags are left right at the entrance and are unattended. Make sure you bring your student ID for exam.
Interesting post-modern? Architecture replete with pipe organ in midst of historical Uni of Melbourne campus. War memorial adjacent Hall shown.
A humongous sized hall which is used for various activities in the university especially as a substitute for different off seasonal terms in the university for organising exams and festivals. Summer and winter terms and various subjects on offer have their exams generally scheduled in this hall. It becomes convenient as the hall lies within the premises of the university and makes it easier to cope up with travelling on exam day.
Other than this the hall boasts a reputation of having various conferences and book exhibitions which provide the students and people with a plethora of experiences and the expansive world of books and education
Sttended a great concert by the University of Melbourne staff orchestra. Conducted by students, managed by students playing pieces composed by students.
Others may have memories of taking exams here.
Located in my uni and i have appeared for my exams here and it is cozy place to write exam. PS: ONLY COZY FOR THOSE WHO ARE WELL PREPARED FOR EXAMS. IT WAS DAU TING FOR ME.
