William Dutton Motel

The retro fitted a/c at a few hundred decibels combined with a built in clock/ radio and shower curtain, gave our room an historic feel. Just loved it!

Make no mistake, this place is old but, we found our stay clean and affordable. The manager is friendly and the beds are comfortable, it was a good night stay.

Great place to stay. Clean and easy to park and access what is needed as it's out of town so bit quieter. Greg was a super host.

Great oldschool motel with great service, owner Greg is awesome and knowledgeable. Very clean and suited for those on a budget and not looking for the Hilton.

I'm slightly mystified by the bad reviews here. This is a vintage old-style motel with actually some style and character. My room was perfectly clean, cozy and comfortable, and the place is within walking distance to the Portland waterfront with shops, restaurants and pubs. Rates are incredible for what you get. Loved it.

- we booked at the last moment but still got it in reasonably low price.
- the aircon/heating was too loud and so the exhaust fan in the toilet.
- Photos of rooms were a bit misleading. I’ve attached the actual photo.
- the room was neat and clean.comfortable beds…
- private parking space available, but I didn’t find it convenient.
- the building looks oldish.
- the lady named Sueann at the reception is lovely

Overall, i would say the motel was good especially when you consider the low $$ that you paid… in fact you get softly more than what you paid.

Highly recommend! The rooms are lovely, very clean and well set up.the staff are really friendly and helpful and it's close to everything.

Was supposed to be a nice weekend for my fiance and I. This motel was terrible.
Theree was nothing executive about the executive room. No wifi, no tea or coffee amenities, basic 3 channel TV, the aircon/heating unit was SO LOUD and sudden clunking all night with paper thin walls. The bed was insanely uncomfortable and the exit is near impossible to drive out of. Won't ever return.

This place was clean but the carpet was filthy and this motel is old and shabby. I would not stay here again.

Great staff, location very close to main shops and bus stop. Just overall a great experience each time I go

Is a DUMP. Photos of rooms are totally misleading and not a reality. Rooms are filthy and smelly. Bedding is musty and dirty. Management are rude and I’m helpful. Worst location with Bogans hooning up and down the street all night long felt totally unsafe. Stay somewhere else don’t waste your money

The overall place was horrendous; the parking was horrible, the room was dirty and filled with dust and smelled of smoke.
If you had asthma you would likely end up in the hospital next morning.
I would highly recommend you reconsider booking at this hotel.

Comfortable, warm and clean with a great shower and nice soft towels. This hotel is great value and in a handy location, close to the CBD.

Neat and clean rooms. Handy to pub. Quiet rooms. No coffee or tea making facilities in room. Friendly staff. Would stay again for sure.

The proprietor is very friendly and chatty. I didn't feel that the room was good value for money - very dated.

I stayed in this motel for two nights during our road trip along great ocean road. I booked the room one week before the trip. Even during a long weekend, the prices were very reasonable and affordable.

The motel is bit old looking, but worth the money. There's nothing to complain when compared with the price. Rooms were resonably clean enough. Room was quite enough for a good sleep although I received a room beside main road.

The motel is situated in a very good location and very close to resturents, filling stations, beach etc.

Well what to say this is the worst place I have every stayed owners are so rude & abrupt, rooms are nothing like there web Paige. The filth in these rooms is atrocious & the furniture is either broken, or stained with god no's what & as for the linen with stains on it & then there was the uncleaned bathroom that looks like it hadn't been touched in months. What a dive of a place. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Old, dirty and smelly owners don't care about their paying visitors thoughts, we will never stay there again.
Pay a few extra dollars to stay somewhere else the value isn't worth the stay

In the morning at 8am, the house keeper knocked the door and attempted to come into the room without waiting respond from us.
It would be great morning call, if you have a tight schedule. However, you won't be able to get yourselves relax as the aircon is a bomber aircraft!
