This is a great experience, and one I recommend highly. Nick is a great teacher, full of expertise and patience, and explained each step of the guitar-building process well. A really fun experience, and the end result - the guitar - looks great and sounds even better!

We had a great weekend building our guitars. Nick is really patient and has an amazing workshop set up with all of the equipment you need. Not only did I walk away with a fantastic looking and sounding new axe, I also learnt a lot about looking after the guitar, making adjustments when needed. I'd highly recommend this experience for anyone interested in guitars.

I had a great weekend making a resonator guitar, and I would highly recommend this course to everyone. I have made a few Cigar Box Guitars on my own, and am reasonably familiar with what's it takes. But Nick was brilliant, and I learned sooooo much on the weekend which will stand me in good stead in the future.

Just had a ripper weekend making a guitar with some other guys and Nick from Wildwood Instruments. If you haven’t done this give it a go. Was a great weekend in Daylesford. Nick is an excellent instructor. Could not rate the guitar making course more highly.

Had a great time building an archtop with Nick in 2019. An excellent learning opportunity and the guitar turned out fantastic. It still plays really well and I'm about to embark on a hardware upgrade.

This was a great course. Nick really knows his stuff, and it's a relaxed comfortable atmosphere. It's a full 2 days! I'm really happy with the skills I learned and the guitar I came out with. Thanks Nick!

Such a great weekend, no question was too silly, Nick is a great instructor, no question was too silly, and I learnt a bunch of stuff that I can use on my other guitars! As Molly would say 'Do yourself a favour! '

My experience at Wildwood Instruments was exactly what I had hoped for. I learnt a lot about the electrical components of an electric guitar as well as how to setup the neck, bridge, nut and string height of the guitar. Nick is an extremely knowledgeable and patience teacher and provided excellent instructions all along the way. I am really happy with the way the guitar looks and plays and it's great to have a unique instrument with with a personal attachment.

We had an awesome weekend guitar building session with Nick. A two day course gives you real experience in assembling a very playable guitar. Also, the location is amazing and Nick is a brilliant, very patient and accommodating teacher.

Tip: Drop the better half off for spa and make yourself a guitar. Win - win

I have been visiting Nick Carpenter since 2017, commencing with the ash body Stratocaster guitar making course, being completely satisfied with the knowledge gain from Nick's expertises. I decided to come back and build the set neck 335, unbelievable! I then returned to make a precision base, absolutely awesome! Now as a complete guitar making junky, last weekend I completed the cigar box guitar course, brilliant! Thoroughly hooked on the hospitality and knowledge from Nick and the beauty of the surrounding areas Daylesford and Hepburn Springs. Highly recommend any of these courses to anyone, no previous guitar making knowledge required.

I took the weekend course with a friend and couldn't recommend it more highly. Nick was a brilliant teacher and despite our novice level of woodworking skill, we walked out with 2 beautiful archtop guitars that look and sound as good as any I've played.

I'll definitely be back as soon as I make space for another guitar

Great fun, lots to do and learn. Best of all is watching as the guitar slowly takes shape. My guitar is fantastic, fully set up - BY ME (oh.and Nick). Good chat, not too hard and help is always at hand. Do yourself a favour.

I really enjoyed the guitar building course. It was a relaxed friendly atmosphere and i learned how to do a professional set up on my guitars. The guitar i built sounds great and was a quality instrument and Nick was very helpful and has a very professional workshop. I enjoyed being able to customize colours and shapes to build my own unique guitar. I would definitely recommend this course for any person of any skill level. I thought i already knew a lot but was surprised how much more i learned. Great value for money
