The Great Ocean Road trip with our guide, Ilkay, was probably the best guided tour I've ever taken. Ilkay was witty and extremely knowledgeable. Every aspect of the trip was perfectly thought out. I particularly liked seeing koala bears and the hiking (and the chocolate shop), but I think most people on the bus found the Twelve Apostles to be the highlight. This tour will probably appeal to just about everyone. Note that if you are prone to motion sickness, please carry appropriate medication, placebo wrist bands, etc.to ward off that horrible feeling.

We did Litchfield and Katherine Gorge. Turned out we had Becs for these two tour. We had Becs on our Kakadu tour as well. Could not have been happier or lucky enough to have Becs. She is friendly, happy (early in the morning as well) knowledgeable a complete package. She obviously enjoys her job. Mel & Mark

Great day trip! Steve was an amazing guide, his stories were fab, couldn’t do enough for everyone and he showed us some great stops on the great ocean road.
The journey is full of windy roads so if you get travel sick, be prepared. And it’s a super long day (12 hours) but it’s absolutely worth it! Great day

Really enjoyed the tour. Derek the guide was great too. If, like me, you can’t be bothered to plan your trip around the Blue Mountains this is a great option.

My husband and I did two tours with Autopia! "Great Ocean Road Sunset Tour" in Melbourne and "Blue Mountains Tour" in Sydney.

Both tours were mind-blowing! Wes, our tour guide in Melbourne was very knowledgeable and funny at the same time! He explained the history of the 12 Apostles, we arrived there with a perfect sunset light and he brought us to incredible places during the whole tour, like a tropical forest that was worth to go through.we saw totally different places that made the tour 10/10.

The tour in Sydney was also great! The tour guide was very experienced in animals which made me feel very safe, in case any spider or snake would have gone my way: D nothing to worry about it though! And we saw the blue mountains from different areas and the three sisters were incredible #art, we arrived to another area to see the sunset, until it was totally dark.

Experiences and memories that we bring with us for the rest of our life. We will definitely choose Atopia next timen we visit AUS!

Just got back from the Penguin Parade tour at Philip Island. Our tour guide Dandy was the best guide ever. So informative, patient, fun and very responsive to his passengers. The day was great, penquins sooooo cute! So pleased we went. The biggest thank you to Dandy, can’t recommend him or this tour enough. Tena koe, the kiwi girls!

It was a great tour thanks to our tour guide, Dandy from Wildlife Tours. He had amazing and fun stories to tell and kept the tour interesting even on the bus during the journey to the different locations. He shared beautiful music with us from Aussie singer songwriters and musicians. The timing of the tour was just right as well, we got to witness a beautiful sunset.

1 Day Great Ocean Road Tour

Before booking we checked the different companies as we would like a smaller group tour and so we ended by booking this tour.

However, when we got picked up we were shocked to see a bus with a capacity of 39 passengers. This lead to a lot of waiting time during each stop as it takes a lot of time to get on and off the bus. This was frustrating during the tour as it took time from the other lookouts.

Furthermore by having this large bus some of the lookouts were not accessible as the bus simply could not fit in there if there were other cars.

We were lucky to have the guide, Dandy, who did an excellent job. He was very informative and pleasant to be around. During the trip, he talked about the different areas and combined them with personal stories making it a more unique and heartwarming experience.

So if you want a smaller group tour, don´t book this tour.

We took the full day tour of Grampians National Park tour from Melbourne and it’s a trip I’d highly recommend. Our tour guide Wes was great about giving us a good background on Australian history and culture. We went on 2 hikes — the first one was an easy 1k and the second one had the option of easy or difficult. We chose the difficult option and it was 260 steps down. Coming back up those 260 steps on a warm day was no joke. Even so we had a great time and got to get out in nature and see a beautiful part of the country.

My family and I had a fantastic trip of four days from Perth to Monkey Mia.the leading destination was to see the dolphins. Our daughter was just amazed by these wild animals. I can say that it was a great trip. Happy with the wildlife company's service and highly recommend this destination.

Went on the Philip island penguin tour today, with tour guide Dandy, was great experience and he was such an informative/enthusiastic and outgoing guide. Very easy to get along with. Would 110% recommend this tour. Especially if you’re blessed with dandy as your tour guide!

Highly recommend the Philip Island Penguin Parade tour. The tour guide David was really good and explained lot of things about the Philip islands on the way. The bus was very comfortable and lots of leg room compared to other tour operators bus. The reason for not giving 5 star is that the itinerary could be planned a bit better and can include some toilet break. We guys sat continuously for 3 hrs without any toilet break. For my 5 yr old kid it became an ordeal and we have to stop the bus on the side. Other passengers did stop the bus on the road to relieve themselves which wasn’t ideal at all. So anyone traveling make sure your bladder are empty before you board the bus. Also there is no food and drink allowed on the bus which wasn’t mentioned at the time of booking, so keep in mind you don’t buy any food for your journey.

After deliberating for some time on which Great Ocean Road Trip we would take, we happened across the Wildlife Tours of Australia website which offered a reverse trip that allows you to see all the sites in reverse order from the usual tours and means there are less crowds. We opted for this and couldn’t have been happier.

We were picked up promptly by our guide Doug right beside our hotel and after a few short pick ups of other guests, we were on our way to the 12 apostles. On route, we stopped for a comfort break at a lovely little bakery for some hot coffee before driving on again with Doug giving us all the facts and history along the way.

Once we got to the apostles, we were given free time to explore and take in the views which we absolutely stunning and offered full panoramic looks over the towering rock formations. Pictures online do not do these sites justice and they need to be witnessed in person. We were slightly unfortunate in our timing in that we arrived during what must have been one of the windiest days in Melbourne’s history.

We left the 12 Apostles and headed for Loch Ard and the magnificent lookout point, albeit a little windswept. We were given a tasty lunch of sandwiches and fresh fruit and given free time to explore the area. You are given enough time to explore both the beach and clifftop walk, both of which I fully recommend. Again the views at this location are unrivalled and need to be seen to be believed.

Once back on the bus were given the interesting and informative story of how Loch Ard had gotten its name and the history of the Shipwreck. Doug really knew his stuff and imparted his knowledge in a very engaging manner. We continued the journey to the Great Ocean Road whilst stopping a couple more times to see koalas in the wild and flocks of parrots, sulphur crested and gallah cockatoos which was a real highlight for us as we were desperate to see Australian animals in the wild. We even had time to stop at Melba’s Gully, a rainforest on route where we were lucky enough to encounter a special black snail which is only found in this area.

The drive along the Great Ocean Road was stunning and delivered unparalleled views all along the coast taking in sweeping coastlines, beautiful coastal towns and stunning beaches. We made our final stop at the Great Ocean Road memorial arch and had plenty of opportunity to explore and take photos. Doug even took the time to take a picture of us together on our camera.

All in all, we had an amazing time on this trip and it delivered exactly what was promised. The sites were relatively quite and well worth the journey. Doug, our guide was mazing and has a real passion for what he does. Doug took the time to engage with his guests, find what each person wanted to see and tried to accommodate everyone’s requests.

Great Ocean Road Reverse Itinerary with 12 Apostles from Melbourne

Hmm.where should I start. The whole experience was rather unpleasant.

Small shuttle minibus!
22 people were jam packed into one small shuttle. I can't imagine a tall or bigger size person can sit comfortable through out the journey. Ironically, we bumped into another group from the same company driven in a big proper bus. The comfort and luxury that we didn't have. Tragic.

No Tour Guide?
The driver is the tour guide. This is the first time we come across a driver that also wears the hat of a tour guide. Is this safe? Can he concentrate when he's talking to us?

We felt the driver was rather inexperienced, like we're on a museum tour and he recites everything from Wikipedia. It was very flat and no energy at all. While overall he's friendly and courteous, we stopped listening after a while. I don't think people at the back listened at all with the lack of interaction.

It really felt like we booked a car transfer than a proper tour.

Disappointing.
