Wild Life Bakery reviews
63Good bread and very convenient to my house. However, I now travel further for my bakery bread because they will slice it for me. The coffee service is also pretty slow
5/5 would come again to try more pastries.
We tried the cheese scroll, chocolate tart (tasted like cloud on a thin pastry), vegan kimchi toastie. Coffee’s great! Yum yum yum…!
Amazing pastries, cute warehouse vibes. Staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend the morning bun and the chedder and confit garlic twist.
Live this place! Amazing food, I am very upset that it is rake away only now. I would be happy to pay more and be able to have table service. The atmosphere has changed completely now, but food and coffee are still excellent.
Dropdead best hot cross buns. Irresistible foodie items. Lovely service. For cooks.you will constantly make up an excuse why you need to go there.
I got five breads, they didn’t even offer me a large paper bag. I saw they gave other customers larger paper bag, but when I asked for it, they just said they don’t have? It’s that discrimination on Asian? And we also ordered two slides of sourdough for takeaway, waited for almost 30 mins……
Wild Life's been on the list for a while now, and it now evidently ranks in the top.
All the pastries are a god send, the fastidious detail and craft noticeable in each baked good.
I might have to relocate and become a local in this neighbourhood.
After scouring the country for almond croissants, unfortunately this one is overrated, over priced and the venue was over crowded on the weekend. Yes it is okay, and yes some like a buzzing area but this is not for me
Favourite, favourite cafe in Brunswick. Sometimes I venture from home in Northcote just to come here for a chai and a croissant. Delicious pastries and cake and oh the best chai.
Very difficult to find real GOOD sourdough in Melbourne, so was very happy to taste the amazing loafs of WLB. And there are so many options! I love it. If you're into good bread, go here.
I stumbled across Wildlife on Instagram and I've been a regular since. Pasties are very competitive in this area, but wildlife are definitely up there. It's also worth mentioning they do a solid coffee and their layer cakes are lit. I always miss the Rosella wheat carrot cake though. Mad pies too. I always nip up on my bike from Collingwood, as it's well worth the journey.
Messy but tasty chicken baguette. You do need strong teeth to rip into it but the work is totally worth it. And I am not sure what the other item in the picture is called but that was just outright delicious. I am about 40 mins away and would gladly travel to just get this one item. And I have already done this once only to find out this item is not usually ready till after 10 or 11
Worst coffee I’ve ever had omg…. Ordered a long mac, and I got a 3 quarter latte with no froth. That lady had no experience obviously whatsoever
Was disappointed.
Ordered a quiche only served with chutney that charged me $12 for like 8cm.diametre X 2 cm height max, a slice of hazelnut chocolate torte was overly sweet, almost disgusting, the cake itself was very sweet and the texture is gooey rather than dense, was that not cooked? The hazelnut chocolate ganache on top was just too sweet, we couldn't eat it at all.
The cafe menu looks like they don't care about the dine-ins, service was rush and rude. The only thing made well overall was a cup of coffee.
Sourdoughs look good but after the meal we were scare to paid more at this place.
Love their bread, beaut Market Lane coffee, and really nice spot. Wish they'd have more vegan options in the pastries though
The owner, Huw Murdoch, hates eggs and thus removed all eggs from the dine in menu.seems idiotic
BEST HOT CROSS BUN EVER! The croissants were great as well. My favorite bakery in the area. Unfortunately the coffee wasn’t great. Had a filter before and a long black. Filter was okay but long black was overextracted and undrinkable. Highly recommend the bread but not for coffee.
What a beautiful calm space. Discovered this bakery recently and had a great time. I find the space so beautiful and open.
We had a nice chai and iced coffee as well as delicious pastries. They have a vegan cookie and carrot cake which were both delicious.
This bakery in the small street of Brunswick will immediately draw you in with their heavenly aroma from their freshly baked goods and toasted sandwiches.
They update their menus and create new and limited edition goods that I always find myself here. Their selection of cakes and pastries as well as their infamous kimchi toastie & caramelised onion toastie sell out so early bc they are that good.
Almond croissant (4/5) : the lamination and butteriness of the croissant is insane as I bit into that crunchy webbing. The almond frangipane was delicious but personally wasn’t mind-blowing as other reviews have stated. Wished to have more flakiness, as well as a bit of a softer interior to win my heart.
Kimchi cheese sandwich (3/5) : the sourdough bread is the star of the sandwich. So well buttered and toasted, which paired well with that tangy fermented kimchi and cheesy goodness. I love my kimchi religiously but the kimchi here was unfortunately a letdown as it had not been fermented enough given its sour overpowering taste.
Their pies and sausage rolls are on another level. The flaky pastry obviously goes unsaid, but the filling is so complex - they love their mix of sweet and savoury, and aromatics. I always roll my eyes when I bite into their oversized pastries.
Caramelised onion cheese sandwich (4.5/5) : the aroma in this made me speechless. A nice sweet salty and tangy kick from the caramelised onion which paired so well with the consistently buttery sourdough.
Look out for their specials bc they are always beyond amazing and wish they were here to say, esp their banoffee danish and apple walnut caramel koji turnover pastry.

Wonderful experience! Wonderful bread. We tried the pork and fennel sausage roll and sandwich on ciabatta. Coffee also great!
