Wholefoods reviews
17A wonderful initiative that has been kept alive by fiercely passionate volunteers since 1977. My father would frequent this place when he was a student at Monash, and now, thanks to the hard work of many beautiful people, I get to enjoy the same delicious food without breaking the bank. A worthy cause which has a legacy that will endure for years to come.
My friend convinced me to come here for coffee. Wholefoods has it all - friendly workers (who are all volunteers!), great coffee and apple crumble, super affordable, and I was a fan of the mismatched décor throughout the place!
Loved it, will definitely be coming back!
Food is a hit or miss. Probably best to go when they open as they serve cold food when they are about to close.
Don't buy coffee from here or any other drink for that matter - it's basically just water (also isn't cheap compared to the rest of their menu).
Props though for being a non-for-profit organisation that's completely volunteer run and is 100% vegetarian.
Very affordable (the cheapest place to eat on campus), and from having eaten and ordered coffee there many times, it’s the best place overall to eat!
$3.6 for a coffee with all the options of a commercial cafe, plus every single one of their restaurant food options (from $3 dahl and rice to their curries and lasagnes) is incredibly filling and such a steal for the price they’re offered at.
Their focaccias will sort you out for lunch and possibly some dinner (l a r g e)
The QR code system is genuinely there to help out volunteers as they’re sometimes understaffed, but I promise you that everyone is passionate about their work and quality of food.
Everything is vegetarian and/or vegan (gluten free when applicable), and I’ve had to on multiple occasions stop myself from ordering their cakes and brownies because of how good they are:)
Fifth year on campus and I’m firm on my belief that this is the best place to eat!
This is the best place to eat on a budget in the area. Additional discounts are given to students but anyone can come and the food is super cheap. It's healthy too!
The cakes are these spectacular concoctions - they're huge and topped generously with icing. The cafe's muffins are among the best I've ever eaten - crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The vegetarian lasagna is a winner too.
By far the most impractical and inconvenient system of ordering food. No menu displayed whatsoever. Need to have QR Code system to get anywhere. Once you get through to the Menu, you need to fill up the form with all your personal details and order and pay online. All this hurdle just to have a slice of Lasagne. Imagine a grandmother, who came to visit her grandson, trying to get fed. When complained to the management - was told that the system is set up to make it easier for volunteers. Could not imagine more lame excuse. Left the establishment and entire campus extremely irritated and hungry. Very sad
Friendly staff, amazingly prices and delicious food, community run and a great atmosphere. Amazing spot
The vegan lasagne is huge, filling and worth the money- only $7.20. It has a creamy pumpkin filling with vegetables and the top is slightly crispy. Delicious, also comes with free salad
Usually pretty good but for some reason, today my vegetable focaccia was 95% focaccia and 5% veg. Food is usually pretty good, atmosphere is hipster
Great cheap food that tastes good for the money paid. Dahl and rice is always just $3, and you get a discount on all items if you've MSA. Food preparation, serving and billing the customers, cleaning up the dishes, it's all done by student volunteers. You'd not get a value meal that's also gentle on your tummy anywhere around the uni for cheaper than here. Love it!
I love this place. You feel like home once you sit down on their comfy couches:) food is pretty good and so is the coffee! Oh, and if you have a chance to buy their cake, do so. Thanks for the awesome food and service guys!
I initially had a pretty poor customer service experience, but upon contacting the wholefoods team on Facebook they responded promptly and admirably. I felt like they genuinely cared about the feedback and my experience.
Tasty vegetarian food, very reasonable prices, cozy ambience. The only place I could find Chai that was not sweet
Great affordable and vegetarian/vegan food! Staff are always friendly (they're volunteers). Coffee are also cheap with plenty of milk alternatives. The vegetarian/vegan lasagnas are so good! They also have various alternating cakes and cookies!
If you like vegetarian you dont need to go past this place, fresh food and some realy new dishehes I have never seen before.
Amazing coffee and food. If you are vegetarian you will love this place. You will really enjoy being here.
Their vegetarian // vegan lasagna is STUNNING. You'll find yourself come back here just for this.
