Whitefriars College reviews
30Was sentenced for treason against the Holy Church and I am now a reformed believer in our holy savior Mr Popsicle. I'm now an Enlighted being who has transcended above education.
This school is really not worth it. Most of the subjects aren't relevant, not to mention half the teachers are inequipt to teach the subject they are taking. The forced religion classes only have the school reputation in mind and they couldn't care less about the wellbeing and success of the students.
Originally I thought this school cared for the students education and setting up their future. But as I progressed through the years I realised they are more obsessed with the curriculum and their own reputation rather than setting up their students for the future. This problem most likely goes higher up the food chain to VCAR but it is still a large problem.
The recent period changes are also to severe and not in the best interest of the students. Friday's layout currently is the best layout but 6 periods a day is too much. This will take away valuable practising time with teachers and won't be good for the students.
Overall would not send someone here, go somewhere else if you care for your future.
Watch them reply with, "If you'd like to provide us with feedback via the appropriate channel, please email development@whitefriars.vic.edu.au"
They said they would give me education
all education i have is worship god and shovel coal into steam engine help
My family’s experience with Whitefriars was a negative one. I withdrew my son from there because of bullying, he required surgery because of the physical bullying. Whitefriars handling of the bullying was disgraceful, in particular from the senior staff. My son received more support from the legal system. I read the review by J R and I agree that Whitefriars does not know how to handle bullying.
I do not recommend this school.
Both my brother and myself attended Whitefriars college for a number of years.
I never thought much of the school, as the education seemed average at best given the resources that were available.
However, the real reason I cannot stand this school and will forever advise people from sending their sons here is because of the way they handle bullying.
My brother was bullied right through his time here and across the board the school did next to nothing. Deciding detentions would teach the perpetrators instead of taking further actions obviously required when the complaints continue.
To this day my brother struggles with self worth and self identity issues that have come about because of everything he had to deal with at the school.
So to the teaching staff, the principal and everyone else involved that stood by and watched it all happen, I hope you know that your cowardice has destroyed my brothers supposed ‘best years’.
So please do not send your kids here, there priorities and values are completely backwards
I think an appropriate place to leave a review is under the tab of “review”. Perhaps feedback regarding a luckluster principle whether you like it or not should be taken into consideration. As stated earlier, Mr John Finn remained professional throughout his 5 year tenure, However we never heard let alone saw Mr Anthony Kirley. Nor will we again.
My son attended Whitefriars and so did my 3 older brothers. My family are academic/sporty, but there is so much more to Whitefriars than that. The pastoral care is amazing and any disputes between the boys are quickly settled. My son made some amazing friends there and now works full time as an auditor. My older brothers went on to become doctors. Whitefriars teaches old school value in a modern way. Teachers are all well presented and happy to discuss your child. My sons pastoral care teacher came to his 21st birthday and gave one of the speeches. My brothers remained friends with their English teacher and often played tennis with him.
Great school for boys, the school is very diverse on the education of your child. It will cater for childs needs.
A very warming and caring community of staff who are very passionate and dedicated about getting the best from their students.
This is a stupid school, i would never send my child there bad staff and very unfair.only good thing is there canteen, more focused on sport than actually teaching.this school is a prison and also claims of sexual abuse to there students.awful it makes me want to vomit and hang myself
