Westernport Hotel Hastings

Love going here. Food is always good. Nice little kids area, bistro has a good atmosphere, recommended the steak. Sports bar feels welcoming. There is tab and 2x pool tables. Pokies have lots of different machines.

Food was fresh, flavourful with good portions and beautifully presented. Service was efficient and fast from ordering to when the food came out to the table. My team were down from Sydney for work and was a great place to eat.

Food was of high quality, venue was clean and modern and staff were friendly (one of the best in Hastings for staff friendliness)

They don't clean machine and take your drinks away just after a mouthful thumb's down you owe me $11

Staff were amazing, especially manager Gemma, who went above and beyond to make Sue our night enjoyable. Thanks for the great service. I will definitely be dining there again.

I had the pork roast. Very little flavor. My wife had chicken scallopinni and it was great. Service was great and the staff was very friendly. I will be going back.

I will start my review by acknowledging how awesome the staff are. (Except for 1 of the bar staff who was just not enjoying life that night) The bistro was dead on a Friday night, and after the dining experience we had I now understand why. All the chips on everyone's meals were cold & had been cooked in extremely old oil and were just not pleasant. Brisket burger has 2 rock hard meat patties (apparently Brisket), kids meals are $18 and are a below standard meal, for that price you would expect it to be as good as a standard main, only smaller. The kids pasta was inedible, even for an adult.
The salt and pepper squid itself was good but had some weird Thai dipping sauce which really did not go well with it at all, just some tartar or aioli would have been better.
The pastas looked and tasted good.
The high price of food defiantly does not match the quality (low) and is certainly not value for money.

Came to have dinner here with my husband as we walked in we were greeted by the lady who was some what enthusiastic we took our seats noticed a bit of carrying on by the workers in the bar it’s an establishment not a playground the lady who took my order was nice waited for the food the garlic pizza was soaked in oil wasn’t pleasant at all my partner ordered the Parma I’ve never seen anything so small especially for the price and the coating wasn’t even Cooked I ordered the porterhouse steak sandwich when it arrived the steak wasn’t actually porterhouse it was rump and I was so so tough never again will I dine here $120 for nothing rubbish and our table was dirty

Happy to give this pub 4 stars but its staff need to understand what customer service is. After being seated and receiving lunch menus I asked a passing dining room employee (male, long hair in ponytail) for a wine list. Told to get it myself from the bar. When I laughed he said "is there a problem". When I asked can you get get it, I was told "no" because "this is a self service hotel".
Ok for for this guy to go back to the counter and chat with his mates but I have to get up and find a wine list myself _ seriously?

Been here 3 times and the food has been great. Have now been half a dozen times
and this is our go too place to eat

And the Westernport Hotel is very good the food is exceptional and the staff are very polite and great at there job looking after patrons. I have not had a bad meal here

Had the bruschetta excellent presentation & was made perfect. Latte coffee & passionfruit cheese cake with ice cream on side. Great food, service & staff. Thank you Westernport Hotel Hastings. 5 stars.

We stop here once a month to have dinner with our friends who live in Hastings. The food is fantastic. The staff are friendly and accommodating. We asked for a cc and dry in a bottle. They politely apologised for not having any but said they would go to the adjoining bottle shop and re stocked now that’s service

Absolutely bloody awesome service accidentally sent out food to another table came to us and explained and decided to give us a a free drinks for the troubles highly recommend them and absolutely amazing food cant get any better we’ll done girls at the Westernport hotel Hastings

7 of us just enjoyed the delicious cuisine for Xmas lunch. Didn't have time for photos because the food tasted as good as it looked. The staff were so welcoming and efficient. The service at the bar with a smile was great!
First time here won't be the last.
We all enjoyed, seafood plate, slowed cooked lamb, smoked chicken, roast Turkey, Eye fillet.lemon meringue pie.flour less chocolate cake. Absolutely great menu. Congratulations who've won a few hearts.

The biggest and best seafood platter there is in the history of seafood platters! You have to try it!

This is a great value pub with lovely food. The staff are all really well trained. I have food allergies and I felt they took this seriously and made sure my meal was safe.

Had a great, large meal on a busy night. It was a little noisy for me but the meal and service were great

So we were heading out to our favourite local pub tonight for a last dinner before my friend boards a plane for the UK for the next several months, unfortunately they are closed on a Tuesday.

So we head here, order the bruscetta and 2 specials of the day which was flathead and chips.

The bruscetta comes out, a little slow for a quiet night and restaurant. It's served in ok bread, maybe a little dry and with really quite strong onion (we like onion, but it's a bit much), on the upside the vinegarette dressing was nice and light.

Now the flat had mains - they were something else, the worst I've had anywhere. These were so oily I chose not to eat my dinner and whilst my friend insisted she would eat the $33 dish she also gave up. As your knife touched them oil poured out which was made worse by the fact they were luke warm, mushy (cheap frozen fish I would guess), and not salted at all, lucky they have these awful 2 in 1 salt and pepper shakers that cover your food in pepper when all you want is salt.

The chips were white, soggy and unsalted, why does your chef not understand how to submerge food in hot oil? It's the easiest form of cooking, although nothing would help the cheap mushy fish.

We were trying to raise someones attention to let them know how terrible it was but were ignored by everyone.

Decor is fine, light, bright like an average pokies venue. Bar service, staff that ignore you and filthy men's toilet on the bistro side with stains on both seats - you know what I'm getting at right?

So the moral of the story is we spent $90 for 3 tiny pieces of bread covered in onion and went home where we are munching on servo food.

Seriously unimpressed your food and service is this poor whilst your prices are the same as the best eateries around you.

Excellent service and food. Sarah and the restaurant staff are absolutely fantastic! I have several food allergies and am vegan. They managed to quickly sort out a beautiful and tasty meal for me. I will definitely be back!
