55Nice course for Saturday morning 5K Parkrun, beautiful course except the hard 700m up hill ️️️
A playground that would be fine for preschoolers but for older kids and for a better overall experience go to the nearby possum hollow
Really great park to go for a walk, feels like you’re in the middle of the bush sometimes, lots of parts so you’ll always be able to find a quiet spot away from everyone else, weekends and get a little bit busy but it’s still quite okay as most people tend to hang around the barbecue area so you can still have most of the park to yourself.
Very easy walk, would like to see more signage and the manor house open for the weekend, lovely to see kangaroos out and this place would be epic for off road trail bikes if Parks Vic could properly administer it. Currently a good stroll for people with kids as the path is wide and well paved
We went for the mountain bike Park. It's pretty good but not great. It can be hard piecing together a loop to make the most of all the path. I would rate the ride as easy and I think most of the path have simply evolved over time rather than being planned. So it's ok. The facilities are zero. There is car parking. The kangaroos are a real plus as is the other would life
I was a bit disappointed with walking prospects here. My wife and I travelled from about 20km away specifically to walk in this park. For walkers, it's a but boring but at least it's a green space away from traffic. I think cyclists would enjoy it as a long trail is available that connects several sections together - according to a map I saw. We visited the central section but the map suggests the other areas may be better for walkers. I have no comment on any other features and facilities as I was only interested in an interesting walk.
Needs renovation the facilities are probably 20 years old screws coming off at the see saw.update 2022: Still not upgraded the playground, but very peaceful place for walking
So pretty! Really feels further out of the city than it actually is with how big it is and how tall the trees are. We went during a heatwave so the foliage was looking a little thirsty but I’m sure with a bit of rain it would be super green. Nice bike path around the park (hilly in parts) which I think was about 8km total, I believe it also connects you to the city if you’re up for riding over 30km… and we rode past plenty of picnic areas, a lookout point, facilities and a Manor (not sure why it’s there or what it’s for).
One of the better parks in Melbourne, with good hiking trails and wildlife in abundance. The Yarra River flows through this park and there are a few rapids to be viewed. The hiking trails are well maintained and good for pram/strollers.
Nice place to visit without going to the bush. This place has Aussie fauna and flora and picnic facilities. Need to get there early as every blade of grass gets taken for a spot. Kids will love the kangaroos and that little spot where there are koalas. Go and check it out.
Westerfold park is the best park nearby. There are several walking trails, all easy trails, but beautiful. Recommend to walk inside or along yarra river, will get better feeling than the main track.
You can always see kangaroos there, plenty of them. Sometimes feel a bit scary if you meet a group of them by you own.:) Kids will love them.
Also a good place for walking dogs.
Large expanse for a park in Templestowe. There are several loops of the paths for walking, running or cycling. There are quite sweeping views and lots of green fields and trees. Several different car parking and picnic areas
Very impressive park with plenty of room for a picnic or BBQ. Yarra River runs through it. It's a great park for pets as well.
Lovely open spaces. A shame there is no cafe located in the park. Plenty to explore around plus a very good playground for the kids.
Great park, lots of different paths to walk and picnic areas to hang out at. Lots of grassland and depending on the time of day you are there, you might see a bunch of kangaroos. Only thing to remember is to take your rubbish home with you.
A terrific place to wander and simply enjoy nature. There are miriads of walking trails going off in different directions, and no shortage of wildlife to observe. The park has many opportunities available for a barbecue or a picnic, and the vast playground is very popular with kids. It can get busy at times though.
Lovely place, plenty of picnic areas, walking tracks. At around 4.30 kangaroos to see on our walk. Am going back asap
Beautiful huge park. Eastern Grey kangaroo in large groups, regularly seen. Decent kids playground. A wombat crossed our path also. Lovely.
Not a bad park for a short walk, dog walking, and BBQ. The park is not too big, and not too small, so if you need a short to medium walk distance, this park is a good choice.
Westerfold Park is surely a lovely place to spend time with friends and family for picnicking, playing ball games, doing sports on the well paved tracks, tree climbing, playing on the river banks. There are lots of parking spots and even though there could be a lot of people, it has so much space that you can enjoy your own private space. BBQ available (in limited numbers) alongside side sheltered table area. Toilets are also available. Kangaroos are sure to be seen. A must do park for everyone.
