They hold international dance competitions, however students can be dissrespected as staff may feel they are superior.

A few years back, we took out a package for our wedding dance consisting of 5 lessons of 1 hour each. The owner (Don), who was also our appointed instructor didn't show up in the first lesson and someone else had to stand in for him 15 minutes later. The next two lessons we only got 40 minutes as the instructor was late. He was rude, condescending and unapologetic. The only upside? He employs some staff who are very nice but that is not enough to cover his unprofessional behaviour. Although it is not pricey, Wendon has added a whole new dimension to the saying: "You get what you pay for". I wish someone had told us before we signed up there!

I would say the most terrible business i have ever seen in melbourne.the boss was cocky enough to build her own double standard rules just to get money. I wouldn‘t be surprised of the nasty envrionment of the studio and poor service.
I would give 0 star if I could.please be aware people when your choosing these studios!Surprises are out there!

Our little daughter started at Wendon dance studio, at two years of age and is now 3. She is a very cheeky little girl, troublesome at best. Her dance instructors have done an amazing job and as parents, we are blown away by her dance moves and totally overwhelmed with the performance of end of year concert!

They are highly profession, they are strict, they produce results and have been in the industry a long time.

There is room for improvement, in aesthetics, advertising and marketing, they are old school, lol.but after seeing our daughter perform at end of year concert, it’s clearly evident how focussed the teachers are on their students.

The concert at the end of the year is a must see, especially if you have young children

Hello. Hi. Here is my review-Don McRobert bullied me in conjuction with certain others til I had to leave. This is disgusting behaviour. Their lack of empathy is surprising.

Don I do not think tries to be impartial. Don shouted as seen by victim Cloris Han. There was also shoving by somebody else, who shall not be named.

As a principal, it was very unacceptable you denied me your acceptance that the pushing ever happened even though you favoured this "student".

After my resolve, I am not even being overly dramatic. If you wish to see a mediator (like the police) I would be more than happy to meet, because I know at end of the day the truth wins. No matter how long I have to endure.

Old style dance school which has stood the test of time. Most styles are taught including ballroom.

Depressive or Anxious people are stigmatised as violent people by management and people of the studio. This is very unfair and selfish. It's basically a very old-fashioned way of thinking that gets nowhere. Even if you leave, the troubles continue. Not recommended!

Owner shouts and gets angry erratically. Can make judgements on men's intention to dance by eyeing you and yet overall management to certain students stigmitises you because they treat a person badly that can cause a person like me to obviously get angry though I never acted on it. Though a student did. See the irrationality and vicious cycle. Much of which was purposeful. I feel a duty to prevent other innocent people from suffering the same fate.so as a business review I believe this complies with review regulations.

Last year the hip hop teacher was a primary school student with same fee. They changed the teacher this year, but the teacher was unprofessional, treat the kids with no respect. Kids came out with less confident and less happiness.
They Have a concert every half year, 20 dollars per kid plus 30 dollars an adult. If you decide not to go whatever your reason is your kids will be treated like a stranger and being ignored in the class.
Not recommended. Especially not for young kid.
I did talk with the owner and he seemed very upset about my kids not attending the concert. After tried to force me to put my kids to the concert and failed, he said to me: "you don't complain about what I do here! This is my studio! ! I can do whatever I want! ! ! I was shocked and left. 100% true story.

^The very talented Hip Hop teacher (Franchesca Cantillo [Much Admiration]) is a kind and caring dancer across all possible dance styles.ballroom to tap to hip hop to ballet. Australian premiere teacher and dancer Lorraine and Noel Perkins were kind, and extremely talented, and strived dancers to be the best especially for me. Absolutely beautiful people^

Lovely studio with professional teachers who know what they are doing. Social classes are mixed levels and everybody seems to mix well

Such a great studio to learn to dance. With a variety of styles to choose from, it is easy to see why Wendon Dance Stodio has maintained its integrity and dignaty as well as the respect and understanding of the dance needs of their students over many years.

The owner (Don) an old grumpy loud person can employ some relatively sneaky bully tactics to decide which customers stays in, sometimes using his staff to meet his ends. That's why its considered by some reviewers that most locals don't stay long, as it is quite a condescending and unapologetic atmosphere even if he is a renown international judge.

Be careful of what you say in an environment of favourites and jealous students. Don, some staff (even if they don't want to), and selected students will hurt you mentally or provoke you for it. An example are partner based dance eg. Ballroom students who are well liked by Don who would play the victim and cry fake tears to get what they want. Another example is a student who stares constantly during a concert waiting area and sits next to your bag in the changeroom. A final example was when I was touched or shoved on the back whilst dancing. The teachers at first shouted at her but then later denied it ever happened since the woman's husband helped the studio for decades in admin and barbeques. Just an oppressive place of monitoring from the owner and the woman's husband. On stage at an annual concert, a student was asked to touch another student on the hip to see if I would react negatively.

So there you have it. Not the most welcoming of places!

Unfortunately there aren't many dance studios in South East Melbourne, but take the 20 to 40 minute drive. It might save you in the long run. Financially and Emotionally. We are in an age of anti bullying and recognition of health. This studio doesn't fit the bill. If you are a man dancing, be prepared to be judged on your intentions of dance. Thanks for your time. Please make the wise choice of avoiding this place.

By the way Don is an old-fashioned sexist who played with the adult female students by touching clothes, hair, or preventing pretty women from leaving the room. It must make him feel younger.

Still going since before 1973, when i learned to dance there. They know what they are doing. Good style and teaching for all ages. They keep things interesting with events and competitions and also purely social dance events. Has nice atmosphere and a long history. Its upstairs and not so easily found.
