Wellington Secondary College

It wasn't so bad to be honest. I spent Year 7 (2017) in this school. The teachers need more discipline in bullying prevention and need to stop branding victims as troublemakers. Some teachers were influential, however, especially Mr Stefyn who taught me IT. Learning resources are just a singular textbook per subject (excluding IT which is done on device), so you may want to enrol elsewhere if you want a school with quality learning. Unlike the other schools I've been in, I managed to find great friends here, and counselling is also beneficial. Even when I was alone I always had a sense of company.

DON'T ENROL YOUR CHILD HERE. This school is really poor with teachers and bullying policy. The teachers are absolute terrible, They are really strict and they explain concepts way 100x harder. It's hard to learn with these strict teachers, Teachers are rude and us students cant stand up to these rubbish teachers. The students here are also rude and lost there human personality. These students act like eshay wannabes and bullys.they arent from the right nation to act like one. DO NOT go here, It will ruiin your school life

The school is great, but the fact that the students act like eshays or fobs when they aren't is kinda funny to see when they don't come from the right nationality to be acting like one.the school is for education and not for some fashion show

I came here as an international student who didn't know where I'd stay or study until 2-3 months before coming here so I didn't know what to expect. The school has been nothing but incredibly nice, helpful and welcoming.

I've heard about the bullying and fighting but honestly every school experiences those kinds of things and obviously they can't keep everything under control with all the things they have to deal with, but from what I've seen, they're doing their best every working day to make the school a safe study environment for us.

Don't be afraid to call out for help from former classmates/teachers or if you have one, your host parent (s).

I do not recommend this school to anyone, the cohort is bad and some teachers just aren't good. I had this one teacher, when they explained things it made it 150 more times confusing. Some buildings are old and won't be renovated until many years to come. I am sure there are many other schools out there, but for those who have no option then this school is survivable if need be. Another thing is that some teachers are do disorganised and forget to tell you that a test is coming until the day before and some teachers take forever to mark test (2 months+) idk what they do with spare time.

Do not recommend, push kids out of school or VCE to give false exam reading, new building was to incorporate student area seeing as enrolments aren’t being catered for but is used as a corporate admin and named after Principal.
Not a student focused school, lots of bullying, underlying mean spirited vibe with teachers and students. School has changed immensely last 6 years, run like a corporation rather than a student focused school, they can put anything they like in the marketing blurbs but don’t believe it. Lots of other less marketed schools in the area to look at ‘Don’t judge a book by its cover whether it’s glossy or tattered. ’

As like many schools, students will respect to teachers of the rate they speak. As like this school, the teachers that yell to a lot of students is very rude and very embarrassing. This would be called verbal abuse.

I go to Wellington secondary college and this school is not that great. Some students are not good, they fight at school and start arguing with the teachers. Also few girls in year 11 are not good at all! Even I had a fight with some of the year 11 girls. They don't respect people at all.and they are just bad.
Teachers are good, some teachers are not good because they don't explain or teach their student properly. My humanities teacher doesn't explain to me or to other students properly and that's very annoying. If someone don't know something, teachers should explain to them properly. My humanities teacher just says two to three words about how to do something, he does explain but we don't understand, that means he doesn't explain properly to us.
Rest is all good, the school is very big.it has 2 outdoor courts and 2 indoor courts. And there are some nice cool games we play in sports period. So, if you choose your student to join Wellington secondary college, no problem at all. But the only problem is I have mentioned above. ️️ Rest is all okay.

Aye the teachers are amazing and so is the learning processes and effectiveness of said learning. Many of the studentes become high achievers and set a strong influence to the other students.

Students are fairly nice and staff are also nice. 3 starts because of all the rubbish in the school.

I’ll admit it’s a good school, they have good teachers and the rules make sense, the counselling office is great you can seek help and they actually care but the students are the problem the school has a good education system but the students are bullies and are entitled to being ‘popular’ by bullying others should definitely have bigger consequences for bullies
