Wattle Bank Farm reviews
19 Gorgeous, peaceful home away from home. Listen to frogs and birds all day and night, cuddle the herd of horses and choose from a wealth of options nearby for a walk, hike or surf. Photo of large tree in second photo is from the Wonthaggi Wetlands (~10min drive), great for birdwatching, very accessible walking track.
This is our second time visiting, the first time we came as a group and really enjoyed a natural horsemanship session with Peter, he loves his horses and loves sharing them with others, whatever your level of experience or age, you will learn quickly.
Beatrice and Peter’s cabin Seahorse is a really lovely place, fully off-grid and thoroughly equipped with everything you need to have a great Victorian holiday.
We’ll be back soon!
EDIT: I forgot to mention the mushrooms! WOW so delicious, will be visiting the farm shop again on our way home!
We have done multiple Horsemanship lessons with Peter, an incredible trail ride and our daughter has done a school clinic as well. Each time we leave with more skill, confidence and appreciation for Peter and Béatrice and the experiences they run. Wish we started years ago!
It is wonderful experience I ever had. They are like a family and very friendly. Their experience and encouragement made us to get rid of fear of getting friendship with the animals horses. I never ever touched a horse in my life. I was sooo scared. But peters words and encouragement and Beatrice’s beautiful smile and friendship made my fear go away and enjoyed reining horses and play with them. Their mushroom soo nice and we had fantastic time with them. I really recommend the place you too to be and enjoy the nature. They are amazing and marvellous family and a very good place to go and get valuable experience. We wish them bright future thank you beautiful and very friendly couple.
Entered into a dreamed of world as a kid.
Lovely people, horses and fantastic learning style. So fortunate to have found.
Highly recommend this beautiful property, the people and the horses. Had a wonderful lesson in natural horsemanship yesterday which highlighted for me areas I want to improve on. Would be great for beginners or experienced riders open to learning.
Enjoyed an incredible twilight trail ride with Peter on Wednesday. Beautiful horses, stunning scenery, always an amazing experience, thanks for another brilliant ride. So good for the soul! Thoroughly recommend. Kirsty
Thanks Pete for an amazing time. The kids had an great first time experience with interacting with horses and would love to come back in the future.
Our natural horsemanship experience was absolutely incredible. The kids learned so many amazing skills, gained confidence and fell in love. What an empowering way to learn to interact with and respect these beautiful animals. We will definitely be back. 10/10 recommend!
If your in the area must go here!
Amazing how experience with Pete’s horse training!
And mushrooms are 10/10
Highly recommend the horsemanship experience with Peter. He caters for all abilities and has a passion for his work. My daughter loved the school holiday clinic and will definitely return in the future.
We visited Wattlebank farm with another family that we were travelling with. Pete and Beatrice were wonderful hosts, and the kids + adults had so much fun acquainting themselves with the horses, tasting mushrooms and having a tour around the mushroom and vegetable farm. Even the smallest (<2 yo) of the group was comfortable enough to have a go at the horses.
Great foundation Horsemanship by Peter, within 30 minutes had our 7 year old & 17 year old respected by & riding a horse for the first time. A must before any trail ride. Can’t wait for the next lesson.
Amazing riding experience - beautiful and well cared for horses. Highly recommend Pete as a riding coach as well as for trail rides.
We stayed here for 2 nights and did the Natural horsemanship lesson - the seahorse cabin was perfect for myself, partner and doggo. It had everything we needed and we loved our stay.
The horsemanship lesson was incredibly rewarding and was the cherry on top of a great getaway.
I recently attended a retreat at the beautiful Wattle Bank Farm and would recommend to anyone needing a break from the hustle and bustle. The grounds are so magical and relaxing I really felt like I was able to have the space to look inwards. Beatrice took us through a meaningful letter writing exploration and gratitude practice that I will hold onto for a very long time. Thank you so much for sharing your space, time and love with us all.
Our team retreat was made all the better by the wonderful Bea and Peter. Their hospitality and attention to detail was second to none. The food was delicious and the venue picturesque. I highly recommend you all experience Wattle Bank Farm.
Mushroom are so yummy. The cabin feels so warm, cosy and like a second home. Beatrice and Peter the owners are the most kind and welcoming people. The whole place is amazing with all the horses. Defently recommend going
Our family have been attending Wattle Bank Farm for six months for equine therapy for our daughter. The impact on our daughter has been incredible. She is now experiencing improved emotional regulation, and now has more self confidence, a sense of pride and self worth that wasn't there before.
Pete's professionalism, care and ability to read his clients make him an amazing teacher. Thank-you to Pete and B of Wattle Bank Farm, you guys have been a game changer for our whole family. X
Grow - to be honest I am not a fan of mushrooms but Bi cooked them on the BBQ one afternoon and they were delicious. I even got a tour of the growing facilities, amazing.
Play - both my daughter aged 12, and I have spent a lot of time with Pete and the horses. Pete has kindness and patience which is second to none.
Stay - laying in bed looking up at the stars, sitting outside having a cuppa surrounded by horses or playing one of the many boardgames supplied. Relaxation everywhere you turn.
The hosts Bi and Pete are warm and welcoming. Do yourself a favour and visit Wattle Bank Farm. I do, almost every week!
