Been back since the below review. Things have improved.

Food is average for the price. Has pokies. I'm a big supporter of RSLs, but Watsonia has been going downhill for a while. The prices are high for what is basically a bar meal. Salads are very poor. The members' bar area, which gets quite crowded some nights, smells like smoke from the smoking area, and the male toilets stink like urine. The smells make their way into the members bar area, so don't eat there. The place needs some serious maintainence.

I recently revisited, post covid, and found that the food had improved, but the ambience still needs work. It was better and the food was OK.

The smokers area doesn't seem to contaminate the rest of the club like it used to, which is a huge improvement. The beer was nice!

Very nice menu, the gnocchi was excellent. Went back 2 days later and had a parmigiana which was also very good. A colleague had the steak and said it was one of the best cooked steaks he's had.

Love this place.i live at Kilmore now. I still come down i love to go to watsonia R S L. We usually spend a couple of hours there playing pokies. Also stay for tea time and have meal. Usually go there with family and friends.the staff are really nice. Also like your food and we find it a very nice place to go to.

Tuesday night's trivia are a hoot, meals are awesome.
Had the garlic bread with cheese for entre and 300gm porterhouse steak with chips and salad.
Cold beer and cider on tap even Canadian club.
Lovely surroundings and friendly staff.

We come for our parma, chips, salad and gravy. Love this place for the quick service with practically no waiting for your meal (and the parma).

Standard clean and tidy RSL bistro set up which was renovated a couple of years ago. I found the food to be reasonably good, my thai salad quite delicious, fresh and healthy. Prices for food are average and drinks at pub prices. Good if you're after a casual dinner and drinks in the burbs or locally. They had a meat raffle on a Friday so you could walk out with a Sunday BBQ supply for $1 a ticket.
On my next visit, I enjoyed the Saturday night special of scotch fillet, which was cooked to perfection. It was raining when we left so we took advantage of the courtesy bus to get to my friend's home, which was within the 5km complimentary travel radius. So convenient and a great service. Will definitely visit again.

Great food, music and people! And the guest band playing rock, pop, country and all danceable music!

Have been attending Watsonia RSL for the past 10 years even celebrated my 21st and engagement party here aswell as various family members birthdays. However the past 2 visits have left us not wanting to come back. The first rude staff member we thought maybe just having a bad day but yesterday's incident with a staff member was utterly disgusting being told a 2 year old is being to loud in a play area in the rudest way is completely inappropriate struggling to understand why you would have a play area if there not allowed to play in it? Staff members attitude needs a huge readjustment. Massive disappointment

Upstairs function area was super spacious and bartenders were lovely. Cheap drinks but overpriced and overcooked food. I ordered a medium porterhouse steak but the meat was super tough and chewy. There are good deals for seniors.

Slow POS system so delays in ordering in the main dining area. Freezing cold downstairs (even on hot days) so definitely bring a jacket.

I recently went here with my 2 friends, we were asked upon entertain into the BISTRO for Identification, 2/3 of us had it as one had previously lost her wallet and had no intentions to drink at all even though we are very obviously of age. We told the lady at the front desk who was extremely rude, that we only had intentions on eating and we were told we were not allowed entry. Has no information of this on their website, only gambling and drinking responsibly. Absolute shame, will never come back again. Will take my business elsewhere.

Booked in fof a casual Sunday lunch, Staff very welcoming and ready to make your visit pleasurable
Bistro meals are excellemt, full of flavour, good serving size and for a seniors meal 2 courses $20.50 or 3 courses $25.a free bread roll when you place your order an added bonus.worth the trip for families, kids play area aswell, side note pokies are ok aswell.

Went for morning melodies.
Great for a dance and a small lunch.
Wonderful for the over 50s.

The watsonia rsl has great food in the bistro it is very well designed and looks great the gaming lounge is also very good a great place to visit just take your licence or I d as u need to sign in on arrival.

Never met a more arrogant bar tender in my life… the guy didn’t want to be there or serve us… if you want a friendly atmosphere go somewhere else

Attended for meal. Friendly staff. Bistro section comfortable, reasonably priced, good and varied selection on menu
Meals arrived quickly, children's and seniors options. Adequate parking available. As mentioned wonderful and friendly staff. Attended with five people and all enjoyed the experience

I went for lunch with my brother and the staff were excellent from going into the RSL then ordering a lunch with a quiet drink. Exceptional time spent and the food was delicious. Certainly no complaints and far from that.

Nice atmosphere and good bistro offering variety of fare and seniors meals.
Very patient, pleasant staff.
