Warrandyte Federation Playspace reviews
17 I love this playground and area around
BBQ area, playground, river - all perfect, except public toilets
Great for the kids of various ages, something for everyone. Beware the coffee van shuts at 3.
Suitable for both small and big kids. Also convenient for having some snacks from the bakery nearby after playtime.
If you have a climber/risk taker child, then this is a great playground for them. Otherwise, probably give it a miss. Great place to meet up with friends and family though, as there's a bakery, coffee and walking track near the river so you can keep busy for a few hours. There's toilets available, and generally there's free picnic tables and barbeques in the area.
What a spectacular addition to the river in Warrandyte. A stunning park for kids, lots of shady spots to sit, and next door to the bakery!
It’s new and looks good…. BUT who thought unshaded metal slides were a good idea? !?
Temp was mid-20s and Sun out after a few weeks of wet, kids eager to get out. The larger tunnel slide is in full sun, and guess what? It was like a BBQ hot plate. No attempt to introduce shade to that part.
Park heaving with kids so it was hard for kids to turn back down the ladder so forced to use the slide to come back down. Kids definitely had red skin on exposed parts and couldnt easily use hands to push themselves off at the bottom of slide. Had to water the slide down to cool it and kids sent to water play area to soak soar parts. Advised other parents to avoid use - but very hard to do with kids being kids.
Can’t wait until it’s summer - I’ve told my kids I’m going to bring an egg to fry (learning experience).
Slides designed, made and imported from Germany - what happened to local procurement policies and strategies?
A nice modern playground nestled between the park & next to the river. Its not big buy still has enough variation of play equipments to keep children of all age entertained.
Park is great for big kids, but for 1-4 year olds it’s very disappointing, trying to take an 18 month old down the slide is impossible due to the tight ropes to get there. Also hard to explain to an 18 month old why he can’t go on the slide.
Brand new play space in a beautiful, native setting. Just reopened on Friday. Now has two timber tree house structures with slides (one is an enclosed tunnel) and lots of rope climbing. One very high and one lower, for smaller kids, note that all climbing activities may be difficult for some kids under 4. There is also a water play feature, swings, spinner, rope carousel and trampolines. Great space with lots of seating, an undercover area with BBQs and the Warrandyte cafes and shops just a walk away up the to the road. The play area is fenced (except the steps up to the bakery and near the BBQs), but the river walk is a few steps the other direction and is always a lovely activity any day.
A wonderful, gated playground, cleverly squeezed between the delicious Bakery and nearby cafes, and the river walking path.
A perfect spot to set the littlies loose to burn off some energy while you enjoy your next caffeine hit!
Lovely fenced in playspace away from the road, toilets nearby, lots of shade, next to a riverwalk with plenty of ducks, good for a variety of ages.
Charming gated playground, just a few paces away from lovely coffee, books, and lolly shops. The best bit was the river walk with plenty of adventure for the kids and pup.
The Riverside walk is really good. A pet friendly area. Good to enjoy evening walk & relax along Riverside. Good breakfast options also available.
Bring your reusable coffee cup as there is a Cafe there. River, ducks, swings, climbing stuff and fun to be had. Accessible toilets for everyone too!
Little park for the children next to a bakery. Nice little spot for kids to play while your eating. It has a little historical building next to it as well.
Lots of variety and something for most (young) ages. A couple of bits of equipment where little ones need close watching. Usually plenty of other young to play with.
The classic go to playground in the warrandyte area. Nice wooden structures and pretend train. Also a well built sheltered eating and relaxing area for picnicking. Dogs are forbidden within the safely fenced off playground.
Enjoy pies nearby with the kids. Enjoy a walk along the beautiful yarra river.
