25 Delicious malaysian food springvale

: Been missing Asian food after coming back from holidays, so we headed to Warong Mummy in Springvale for some tasty Malaysian food last week. They’ve got a selection of food on the bain marie, as well as made-to-order dishes from the kitchen as well.
: Food here was delicious and flavourful. The portions were huge as well, we couldn’t finish it on our own! I chose to get the Mixed Rice Combo, where I picked my own dishes to go with rice. Hard to pick my favourite between the Fish Sambal and Beef Rendang since both were so delicious
The best Malay authentic foods in Springvale
One of my favourite dish was I kan masak lemak. It is a delicious and authentic Malay dish that consists of fish cooked in a spicy and creamy coconut gravy.
One of my favourite dish is Ikan masak lemak that very delicious and tender, as well as its secret recipes from its own kitchen. The food is tasty, flavourful and satisfying. Recommended! ️️️️️
The best Malay food in town! As authentic as eating in Malaysia (if not better). Service is always exceptional! Nothing is too much of a fuss. Sizes are generous, superbly delicious. Have been coming genre for years and will continue on.
Simply one of the best Malay restaurants in Melbourne. The owner (Ariff) makes you feel so welcome like a guest in his house. Highly recommended
Truly authentic Malay cooking including home-made Kuihs and pulled tea. Unassuming place with a warm charm.
Second time here, Food was good. Service, not so much.
We found the stools at the front uncomfortable so requested to be moved to the seating at the back where there are chairs. Person at the counter blatantly lied to our face claiming that the other sitting area has the same stools, which it clearly didn't. I literally had to point him out to show chairs. Then he rudely told the actual reason, that it's a hassle to move tables after ordering when it's busy (the place was 80% empty)
We did end up sitting at the back and get our food.
I would highly encourage the management to take notice of whoever was manning the counter today 10th August around 2-2: 30pm in a blue shirt.
You've lost a customer because of this.
I had my first meal here today and decided to try the nasi kelabu. I'm sorry to say but it was a disappointing experience because the fried chicken was so dry, hard and chewy, not with a crispy and crunchy outside and not with moist flesh inside. My first thought was that the chicken was old and maybe from yesterday. The flesh was really stringy and dry and I had a hard time pulling apart the flesh with my fork and spoon but instead had to use my hands to eat the chicken. The crust itself had no crunch and was soggy and stale, surely it isn't supposed to be like that. Because I was hungry I ate it all but it wasn't a good meal and it wasn't a tasty meal. The rice itself and other things on the plate were ok although the cucumber and tomato were not freshly cut and the cut surfaces were showing signs of dehydration and were wrinkly. It just seemed very strange because I have heard good things about Warong Mummy. But sadly this was the worst fried chicken I have eaten in my life. It was disgusting and I feel disrespected that anyone would serve something like that to me. If the chicken was not old and not from yesterday maybe it was fried for too long? Maybe the usual cook was sick today? I just hope it was an off day and not the normal chicken they usually serve because I feel like going back to try my luck again and hopefully get a good meal but at the same time I'm a bit scared that maybe the standard has slipped recently and I will again be disappointed. I hope the owner will take note of my feedback and gets inspired to reach a consistent high standard for every meal served every day.
One of the best malaysian food in Melbourne and some ay Victoria. You will always want to comeback for more. Terbaek!
Enjoyed Nasi Kerabu. Hubby had Chicken Briyani. Both were really good. The Nescafe tarik kurang manis was just the way I love it. Will recommend Warong Mummy to all and be back again. Worth the drive from the Western suburbs.
Excellent service.
What a friendly place. The people who are serving are very friendly and patient explaining the menu. Generous portions, lots of menu options and fair price. Not spicy for me, but flavourful. The have more seating at the back. Definitely will be back!
Honestly, the best Malaysian food at such reasonable prices! How did I not stumble upon this gem before? Had the nasi kerabu and rice with fish curry. Serving sizes were generous and we tried to finish everything on our plates. The atmosphere is typical 'warung' style but very comfortable with air conditioning as we were there on a 33 degree day. Dessert was ais kachang.and again.it was excellent! With just the right amount of shaved iced with toppings. The service was friendly and the wait staff was very knowledgeable and helpful with dish suggestions. We packed extra to take away as the food was beyond delicious. Very happy. Will be back.
First time eating there, good food, good service, reasonable price. Plenty of choices, will definitely come back again soon to try others.
Yum!
At the prices they charge the portion is pretty big. Packed full of flavour. The fried chicken was a stand out.
Amazing food. Was so deliciousss! Great atmosphere, great vibe, top notch food. Will definitely be back!
Love it. We order 2 nasi campur and 1 hor fun for my son. The food looked all spicy with all the red gravy around, but it was not that spicy to me. My son doesn't mind the hor fun, it's not the best, but it's good enough for him. Food portion is quite big. I'll be back next time.
Went for dinner and after eating I felt so satisfied. Was like eating a home cooked meal! Gentleman at the counter helped me choose a non spicy fish curry combo. The fish is very good! Husband had chicken curry and a piece of fried chicken. If you are unsure just go. It’s really nice.
We were in Melbourne for a short trip and a Malaysian countryman foodie friend recommended this place to us. We thanked him for that. They served authentic Malaysian food, friendly and polite staffs. When you step into the place, you are literally transported to a warung in Malaysia, the decoration and ambience.
We enjoyed our mix rice and nasi lemak and also bought 2 curry puffs (chicken & beef) as take away.
We accidentally left a cap in the restaurant after our meal and a friendly crew chased out and found us 200 meters away. I wish I can rate them more than 5 stars D
Probably the best Malay/Indonesian food ive ever had & I’ve tried many. The best Tom yum I’ve ever had too! Affordable & friendly staff
Great authentic Malaysian food. Friendly staff explaining about food making it easy to order.
Authentic tasting food and ambience. If you’re not into hot and spicy this is a reason to change that. Had the ikan bakar, so good…definitely a must-have if you’re visiting this place
