Wantirna Trash & Treasure Market reviews
39 Bit disappointed after losing our own Trash and Treasure Market.
Parking was certainly confusing when you haven't attended there prior Wouldn't bother going again
Very interesting place, a good place to relax and shop for treasures on weekends. I like the family to dispose of old things that are no longer needed, and I don‘t like those professional traders.
Great day out with the family.
You may come across some treasures for a good price.
ONE OF MY FAVOURITE MELBOURNE MARKETS! I both sell and shop at this market regularly, and LOVE IT! Love and appreciate the team that staff the market and all the people that regularly attend it as buyers and sellers/stall holders. GREAT MARKET, HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! XXX
Informatiin for 1st time seller
The stall entry gate was located inside the Wantina Health.
Enter into Wantina Health towards carpark. Go all the way straight downhill and see the bright coloured boom gates. The small market entry gate was on the left.
It won't be visible until reaching to the boom gate
It was my first time visit and may be one car was inside the gate when I came 5am on Sunday.
A first seller car pass me and went through the gate and 5 more cars went through.
There was another small gate on far left 9 O'clock corner. Around 5: 10am, the staff slowly arrived and by the time it was our turn to pay at 5: 20am, male staff told us this queue is weekly booked stalls and need to queue right side near the first gate for casual stall
Now I can see another staff at the first gate. By the time we reached the end of another queue, it was already 40 cars in front of us
Casual seller queues right side top corner big L (the first car was North west facing towards 2nd entry gate.
Regular stall holders queue left side of fence, facing up the 2nd gate next to the Mountain Hwy.
Because there was lack of information on website how to queue (as 7Jan2023), we just followed the first car.
We left the casual seller side queue at 5: 25am and went to the Dandenong one
Was quite underwhelming. It is more of a community garage sale than a market, the range of items are mainly plants and second hand items.
Some bargains good range, I especially like the seedlings varieties from home growers, reasonable prices.
Cheap entry. Great variety of plants at good prices, purchased more than I anticipated. Fresh fruit/veg was good quality. Hoping there will be more vendors as the weather improves but was fun to have a look at all the stalls.
Heaps of parking too.
Feels nice to support local.
This is a great place for Sunday relaxing stroll. People are friendly and plenty of marked carpark. Beside the usual sellers, there are some random sellers selling odd stuff at very cheap price. Plants are always quite cheap.
Mostly hand tools, power tools, hardware bits and pieces, plants, and fresh produce. If you're looking for antiques, clothing and fashion accessories, Camberwell Sunday Market is much better.
Oh and this market could use some coffee and food stalls.
I have been visiting this market every Sunday for the last 18 years. I have collected a lot of old tools. There is a place for fruits and vegetables where you can have bargains.
$1.80 entry for adults, $1.20 for seniors.
Great market with a huge array of items, new and pre-owned, clothes, tools, industrial, pet fish, fruit and veg, bakery etc.
Love this market! You can buy almost anything here. Cheap fruit & veg, plants, bric a brac, new & old items
Currently used as a drive in Covid testing facility. We were able to be cone out of there within 40-60 minutes
From the perspective of a casual seller, this market was great to sell off second hand goods. We arrived at 4.40am (sellers arrive at 5am) and there was already a small queue forming. Entry and set up is well organised. You have your car at your stall site, which is very convenient for loading and unloading. You can expect early bird buyers to start rummaging through your stuff before you're finished setting up. Lost one star for lack of food - you can only buy food from the cafeteria, there are no independent stalls so the variety and quality is very poor and we were quite disappointed by that, other markets have much better food options.
Worth a look.
Try and go on a fine day
In the open.
Food, plants, trash treasure, clothes fruit veg
Best market in the East, never know what you'll find. Large variety of plants, building products, tools, fruit and vegetables, never know what you'll find, so glad it's open again
Look this place you to be a safe haven for people of all sorts on Sundays. The amount of treasures you can find. The shady person selling electronic goods that you know are sourced by different means, but now all that is gone. It is a covid test site.
The covid staff are doing an awesome job nonetheless. Keep up the good work.
My car got bogged in the mud and some idoit parked in the only way to get out, had to call a friend and wait for someone to leave to beable to get out. Left didnt even go into the market.
Love it here. The multi cultural spirit is still thriving here. Must come here next time to sell up some of my goods
