Wagyu Ya (South Yarra,Victoria ) reviews
68 Recommended A5 wagyu, squid, truffle fried rice
The roasted pork and sashimi are also great
Large portions, suitable for gathering with friends and family
It is recommended to book a table first, the atmosphere is very good
There are two floors of seating
Our go to place for a quick and nice dinner in South Yarra. Quality of the meat is great, for both fish n beef.
Environment really nice and food with high quality. Just one thing need to be improve, it is a little bit cold when the Bbq not begin. Maybe can make the temperature higher inside.
We enjoyed the BBQ lunch sets very much. Service is also good. Would definitely visit again.
Wow food is good. Didn't order much, tuna tataki, scallops, shabu don and hot udon. Entrees are good, yuzu or lemon infused, can't recall which haha shabu don was easily easiest to consume. Could have taken two bowls! Haha will probably try others there the next time or the upstairs yakitori if I'm right
We celebrated our anniversary at this amazing Japanese restaurant and it was truly a memorable experience! The ambiance was warm and inviting, with a cozy and intimate setting perfect for a romantic evening. The menu had an extensive range of delicious options. We enjoyed the wagyu sticks and the wagyu steak don! Overall, a perfect place for a memorable anniversary celebration - highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience!
We ordered the Australian Wagyu Set and the quality is 10/10! I was surprised by how much I like the kimchi and wagyu soup, taste very homemade and completely different from other kimchi soups i’ve had. The service is amazing too! A few staff upstairs are attentive and helpful?
The meat quality was amazing! But better than this is the staff, they do a fantastic job to host you and always check on you at the table!
It’s my second attempt. The quality of wagyu set is nice. Decent customers service. How come the portion of wagyu set is quite small but the price is expensive tho. The free side dishes comes just one small plate. It’s not enough for serving four people. If you want more side dishes, you have to call out for them all the time.it’s a bit annoying.
We tried the large platter of sushi & sashimi combination, delicious. The oysters fresh & creamy served with ponzu vinegar, The à la carte eel nigiri was amazing. Essential dessert list. I'll be back to try the fresh scampi prawns
The wagyu here is seriously amazing. Very silky and smooth on the tongue. Expensive but worth the experience?
Took a best mate for his 40th. We did the chargrill experience upstairs. Absolute first class. Get the shared grill to try the variety of cuts - all so different and absolutely delicious. Indulge in the Wagyu sandwich too, unbelievable
Had such a lovely night with amazing food and excellent service! We were greeted and served by Kay who was bubbly, incredibly accomodating and provided us with both dish and cocktail recommendations that we'll definitely need to come back for.
Great food, great service. We've been here many times and still enjoy it each time we're there.
Beef quality was absolutely amazing, melt-in-your-mouth type of quality. Value for price was pretty good considering this was a fine dining experience, place was small but has two floors and had great ambience. Beef don was also delicious, flavorful meat and amazing onsen egg not to mention the rice tasted on point. Also got to try the sorbet & green tea ice cream which tasted pretty good, but have had better. Overall a fantastic experience and would definitely come back.
The food was amazing, the services was ok, we ordered a Kobe A5 and took more than one hour to bring it to the table.
Came here for my birthday because it was recommend by a close friend and was sadly disappointed. Whilst the quality of the meat are good, sadly we were all disappointed by the service-or so lack of it. The service was slow but that wasn’t even our main concern. (We even helped clear and combine dish for them because it was so slow). Conversely, what made the night turn south was how the medium aged man who waited our table was unprofessional and made us feel like we’re “newbies”. I’m not sure if that’s how he treats other customers or perhaps he acted like that because we were on the younger side of customers. However, I believe that the customers does have the freedom to ask questions and what we asked was info on meals, for scissors, helping with splitting the foie gras bibimba and simple a takeaway box. But with every question or request it was met with a puzzled look, a pause and face that screamed it was an “unsual request”- it made us feel so uncomfortable and belittled. To spend over $800 and receive this kind of service is really disappointing. I will definitely be sharing my experiences with friends and family. This will be my first and last time dining here.
It was a good dining experience. We ordered set for 2 pax but the meat portion was not enough. We added additional meat from ala carte menu.
Great food, friendly staff. Little expensive but if you like quality Japanese beef then this is the place to
Go.
Exceptional customer service and attention to detail.
Great selection of meats and staff are unbelievably attentive and sincere. The Manager Jeff was amazing with his recommendations and carefully explained the menu. Highly recommended
