We went there and they suggested us better not take medication, they ask us to wait, but it was getting worse. We had to go to the other hospital for emergency department. Terrible expensive ever. And it’s expensive

We are so lucky to have the VEI in Box Hill. From my wonderful Doctor and his team, the caring day hospital staff and the professional administration staff a HUGE THANK YOU.

I had complained about my long wait here, etc.but today I had a call from the practice manager who was very helpful, explained everything and I understand, I guess everyone is doing their best, it was just a bad day for me all around

I was sent here by Monash and thought it was a hospital, it is not and no where near a hospital environment.
No gown provided, was operated on in a dorm type room in my clothing and shoes on. Hand was not swabbed with disinfectant prior to canula being put in.
Surgeon did not advise me of the drugs that were being given to me, suddenly felt sick and dizzy (fentanal) or that procedure had commenced.
Couriers coming in and out of front doors not using hand sanitizer during strict Covoid conditions. NO A BIG NO! I called the number I was given for problems and the person could not understand me, I told her 4 times that I could not open my eye and was in agony. I Spent a night in hospital via ambulance 6 hours after procedure In complete agony every 5 minutes and put in pain drip, discharged at 7am and had to take a taxi home. Still in massive pain the next day

Dr Eric Maher performed consultation, tests and eye surgery - all on the premises. My outcome (vitrectomy and epiretinal membrane removal) was completely pain free and gave me a wonderful result. All high tech and highly professional.

Dr Mayer was brilliant. He took lots of time explaining things to me and was very patient throughout all my questions. Thank you. I had been very worried about my eyes but the whole experience was positive.
