Violet Town Cafe reviews
21 Got the chicken burger. Well worth it.
The Violet Town train disaster info on the walls is interesting too
Fantastic cafe, and friendly staff. Nice place to stop, stretch the legs and have a bite to eat.
Go Pies!
Stopped on our way from Bendigo to Canberra and had breakfast. Bacon and egg roll was delicious and same for coffee. On our way back had lunch and sandwiches were delicious as was coffee again. 10/10
I got some takeaway here, sadly it was all old, dry, tasteless & very over priced.
I really try to support small communities when l'm travelling, l wish the management & staff @ VTC served food that was worthy of customers stopping in & supporting there business.
1×Chicken & Avo Focaccia roll
1×Pastie
2×Vanilla slice
That will be $28
The toasted sandwiches we were given were tasty but dry, unfortunately also not what we ordered. For the price paid, I expect to get what was ordered. Overall disappointed.
Forgot to take any photos but the food is beyond imagination, highly recommend schnitzels and fisherman basket
Great food. Good menu, family orientated.
Will definitely visit again soon

Stopping in Violet Town is always a must, very pretty& well presented main street with great shops. Cafe was absolutely packed yet the staff were still patient& helpful. Nice park for the kids to have a play, clean public toilet facilities.
Pulled over on our way to Milawa.good range of bakery goods.we had pies and loved them.there was both indoor and outdoor seating.
Clean and neat, friendly service, an air-conditioned area inside plus nice seating outside. We ordered a seafood basket but there was no lemon in the pack, bit surprised and disappointed about that. The chips were good, crab stick a bit strange, the batter was almost like a chiko roll, and tough. Really nice garden salad. We took our lunch down the street a little to the rest park with toilets, which were accessible and clean. A good place to stop.
An extremely welcoming gem in an already welcoming town, the Violet Town Café is a must-stop destination for anyone seeking a quality meal within the warm feeling of a family-run café. I enjoyed a fabulous burger that was hot and fresh with a generous serve of fries, and one of the best thickshakes I have had in a long time. The staff (whose names I have unfortunately forgotten) even let me wash my hands in their sink behind the counter after I had finished! They also have a wonderful selection of lollies too that are not so common, so definitely something for everyone. The flathead tails are also marvellous and worth a mention!
We stopped in for lunch at this little cafe on our way to Porepunkah. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. I had the chicken burger and it was amazing! My husband had the hamburger with the lot and he was also impressed with how fresh everything tasted. Thanks so much.
Popped in for a coffee stop, the service was friendly and the coffee was better than I would have expected, however the coffee was very hot and I feel the banana bread could have been toasted for a bit longer.
The cafe has the old country cafe vibe.
A nice place to sit and rest and watch the world go past. Really helpful staff and wide selection of snacks/meals.
Great coffee and breakfast, There were 10 of us for breakfast a busy time, but nothing was too much trouble. 10/10
Friendly staff & a homely feel. The chicken caesar wrap was delicious & we loved the hot chips (nice & crispy). Brilliant coffee too. Definitely recommend.
Very friendly staff, great coffee and within a lovely town. Felt very welcomed when we walked in and staff were attentive and we had our coffees quickly. Dining was available both indoors and outside and the food looked reasonable too. Great for a quick bite to each or takeaways like we had. Glad we visited this cafe on our travels through the town.
Sign on counter that for the ‘health of their staff all meals will be take away with no dine in’. Bit of a joke when not one person behind the counter or kitchen wore a mask. Big passing trade here so please management, for for the health of all your staff, wear a mask and make your staff wear one. And medical exemptions need to be real. Not because it doesn’t make me look pretty!
As soon as you walk into this café you are made to feel welcome. My take away coffee was great. The hamburger being taken to the dining area looked mouth watering. Worth turning off the Hume Highway if you're driving past.
We stopped at the cafe on our way back to Sydney from a wedding in Raglan. The food and coffee were great and the staff were very friendly. I didn't realise at the time that I had lost my necklace there.
My sister rang the cafe and spoke with the owner, Gary, who went above and beyond for us and found the necklace. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
