Village Cinemas Geelong reviews
50Everything was great except the food. Way too expensive. At least serve me a nice brioche bun with my slider instead of a Woolworths brand bread roll…. I’m sorry, the food tasted really bad: (even the chips did! Whyyyyyyy
Absolutely no covid safe practice in place. They claim to sell limited tickets, but the cinema was full with no empty seats between the sold ones to allow any social distancing. Highly unsafe in these times.
Pricing for tickets and candy bar are reasonable, and our experiences for family outings and date nights have always been positive.
NO COVID SAFE AT ALL, all the seats were almost full and there were no social distancing, people were not wearing the mask, all seats next to us were full, we did not feel safe at all and felt trapped, we have to leave the salon just less than 1 minute, during the commercial and before the movie even start!
Top rate service from the Gold Class staff.
Attentive and polite.
Food and beverages served, of a high standard.
The Grey Goose Cosmopolitan cocktail was a winner on the night!
And finally to top things off, the 'movie' itself was an added bonus.
Was disappointed in Gold class chairs in lounge area had holes in the armrest & the cinema chairs are uncomfortable needs to be refurbished looks very dull & outdated
Okay so loved the gold class experience, but the food supplied was expensive and not what I ordered, huh you might say why the 5 stars? Because when I contacted the cinema, they apologised and offered a free replacement on my next visit, can't ask for more than that. Congratulations to their follow up customer service.
I find the more the website gets up dated the harder it is to navigate, maybe employing staff to answer phones could help.
I didn't go to the movies I went to check if I had more time to use my Gold Class vouchers I received prior to COVID.there's nothing I want to see at the minute and I have till the end of July to use them now so happy about that at least. I hope a movie comes up that will interest me othereise 2 tickets have just been wasted! So fingers crossed for a decent movie soon PLEASE
I always go to Gold Class and drink wine and eat nachos. The movie I watched was the usual cinema. Medium coke and popcorn a rip-off. $15.no wonder we all Netflix it at home! Cinemas were clean. No issues besides the cost of what I'd mentioned
Cinemas are ok, the best are the bigger ones. Some are too small. Hot food are okay but lately have been out of stock. Can't bring your own food (pizza/ maccas), staff said because other customers might find the smell offensive, but they sell their own hot food.better come up with a better excuse.
Alot of independent and overseas films are here, they do have cinema themed nights every once in a while, perfect place to go with friends due to it being in the cbd of geelong.can be overpriced in ticket sales.expect to pay 16-18$ for a student ticket
We had a Gold Card gifted to us, due to COVID we couldn't use it, I contacted Village after it had run out by to days to see if they would extend it for a week, I received a lengthy email explaining they dont do extensions even through nobody could go to the cinema, poor form! Lets just hope the raise of online streaming lifts there customer service. I won't be going back or using the overpriced Gold Class ever again
The building in general is quite dated, and although well maintained, it needs some brushing up in my opinion. I watched a movie in cinema 8, a room which didn't smell nice and had poor sound quality, and uncomfortable seats.
Inside the building could do with an update and a fresh lick of paint. Old and a bit shabby but otherwise ok to go and watch movies.
First time back at the movies in over 12 months. Booked tickets online, easy to do. Once at the cinema not one person was there to check/scan us in. We could have walked into any cinema we wanted! No hand sanitiser seen. Enjoyed the movie, cinema relatively clean.
Always find village cinema great comfy seating big screen great sound fair price tickets close to where I live who could ask for more
Nice and clean theatre with friendly staff. The only downside is that the seats don't recline which could get uncomfortable with time.
It was honestly very dirty. Because their seats are blue you can see all the dirt. I mean we had to go through a lot of them to find clean ones to sit. When we went there the cinema was so empty so I don't know why they could not even vacuum the place.
I was in shock as to the price, in Gold Class $42. And NO FOOD! We go to Reading Cinemas in Waurn Ponds And it's $30 with food! Never Ever Again!
