Village Cinemas Doncaster reviews
23Needs a Reno pretty soon. Hoyts cinemas have added adjustable seating throughout most of their locations. Will village be able to match them? Still very busy though. Very hard to find parking in the rooftop at times. Better off going 1 level down and walking. At least parking is free after 6pm.
We attended gold class last night with a voucher for the indulgence package. The menu had so many deep fried choices. Two deep fried fish choices. One deep fried dessert choice. Several non deep fried dishes had nuts. My daughter is allergic to nuts and seafood. Everything that’s deep fried is cooked in the same oil as the seafood. This renders choices to eat incredibly difficult. Even the salad had deep fried chicken.
We discussed this with duty manager Brianna, and Danny. Both were extremely helpful, helped modify the choices where possible, gave a complementary popcorn and extra scoop of ice cream so my daughter could at least have a dessert she could eat.
They have passed on our concerns (the menus was also unsuitable for vegans given the shared oil) and that was the best they could do. Meanwhile their demeanour and willingness to listen and help really went a long way to retrieving our night.
Four stars because of their work, otherwise it would be one star.
No longer Gold Class quality. Fewer staff, less value and less attention to detail. A shadow of what it once was. Now it’s simply overpriced.
Our first Gold Class experience. I was quite surprised by the level of services available just to see a movie. I liked the idea of drinks and food being served in the cinema.
Wouldn't mind doing it once in a while.
Was forced to pay for parking. Arrived after 6pm on a Saturday night. Validated my movie ticket, got the extra hour. But because the movie was over 3.5 hours long I had to pay $6 for the extra time I was there.
Went to Gold Class. Kids were kicking my seat for the entire second half of the movie, were running around the cinema, and talked for most of the film. Couldn’t see their ps around.
I went to the toilet during my movie. There was no toilet paper. I couldn't get up off the toilet because of this. I missed the entire movie by being stuck in the toilet.
I asked for a refund and all they gave me was more toilet paper.
Just watched Barbie movie there on Monday night in their Gold Class cinema. 1st was terrible services as we didn't get exactly with what we ordered.
2nd was the manager's attitude is not well-trained compared to waiters as he not showing any respect to me when he talked or fixed the issue.
3rd was we waited for about 45mins after the movie was shown for our pre ordered food and waited another 30mins for staffs to show up after we pressed the button to call for help so I have to come out during the movie to talk to one of their staffs.
Just not happy with the services and not worth the money that I paid for what they call Gold Class tickets. Never comeback to this cinema in the future.
Very pleasant Gold Class Cinema experience. Staff are to be recommended. The prawn twisters were so good.we ordered another serve!
Went to see a movie in the Gold Class. It's much better than the Lux at Hoyst. Absolute loved it especially the service.
Somewhat dated compared to other cinemas in the area. And multiple vending machines that take your money and Village take no ownership of.
Great Experience, big screens and amazing audio throughout the film. Chairs are comfortable, maybe in the future they will add reclinable chairs? Food there was decent. Got the My Combo Snack, comes with a Large Popcorn, Large Drink and a Ice Cream! Overall great experience! Come check this place out if you are close by.
Tried to get a chop top at the front sales desk at 2: 30pm Monday. The two female staff were too busy at looking at their mobile phone and the popcorn processer. Never look at their customers. Waited for a few minutes and i decided it is not worth the trouble.
I have been to a lot of different IMAX theaters through out Melbourne but the IMAX theater in doncaster feels significantly bigger than any other. Perfect for watching a blockbuster movie on its first weekend.
Worst service ever by the Customer Service Representative, Jordan Khoo.
He was aggressive and abusive during the call. He had ruined my experience with Village Cinema.
I hope this does not happen to anyone else, who is using the customer service at Village Cinema.
Very disappointing.
Went Gold Class tonight, highly recommended.
Very comfortable seats.
Great sound quality.
Mouth watering food and amazing service by all. Really made the experience worth while.
Gold Class.wouldn’t go even if it was free.
Terribly loud & deafening.
Freezing cold.
Seat dirty & full of popcorn.
Wrong order brought to us twice.
Asked for napkins, never got them.
My advise. Hoyts recliner $17?
Enjoyed a relaxing time watching Nobody.
Nobody interested me.
Nobody was there. Right in the moment.
Nobody did it for me.
I relied on Nobody to entertain me.
Village cinemas is great however unlike hyots reclining chairs is not a necessity but a luxury you have to pay for, the popcorn variety like every Australian cinemas is very limited, I recommend that they should have caramel, cheese, butter and salt
Generally great, but a wider selection of films would be good and hopefully Village will introduce reclining seats in the future.
