Viet Rose Vietnamese Restaurant reviews
52Dead set my favourite Laksa in Melbourne. Been coming here for 10 years and the broth has remained consistent, delectable, and creamy. Always been affordable too.
I had dinner there with a group of around 10 people, and we opted for the 'Bring It On' experience. It was absolutely fantastic! The food was delicious, and the service was exceptional. Not to mention, they have an impressive selection of cocktails, such a good feed here, chicken skewers and Pho were great, fresh and exciting salads. Highly recommended Laksa noodle.
What sets this place apart is the spaciousness. Delicious no matter what!
Pretty decent BBQ Pork Bahn Mi, it would have been a 5/5 if the bread was fresher and more sauce was used but still a very good Bahn Mi, easily beats more of ones you can buy in Saigon, because they don’t skimp on ingredients
Ordered via ubereat. Ordered fried pork spare rib battered with salt n pepper. Meats hardened and can tell is over cooke and refried it. Awful bites no juicy no tender no crispy and too dried meat and uneatable. Had 2 pieces and rest threw away. Disappointed. Next order beef with chinese broccoli. Not genuinely chinese way of cooking as i expected. Just an ok but not much enjoyable base on poor oyster sauce quality.
One of the most disappointed Vietnamese restaurant ever tried.
I was so surprised that the staff didn't know the difference between broken rice (Com tam) and normal rice. We ordered Broken rice and it is quite different from any other type of rice, what we got were definitely not it. But if the staff insisted it is Broken rice then whatever
For the three colors drink you didn’t put the mung bean (yellow color) on our drink, so I guess it is Two colors drink.
Anyways, overall disappointed.
Poor rice paper rolls: no colour; no flavour - just noodles, plain chicken, cabbage and a slither of carrot.
I assumed any restaurant that could survive in Fitzroy would be pretty good but was hugely disappointed with Viet Rose. The service was terrible (but that was forgivable given staff shortages) and the glasses dirty, but there was no excuse for the awful, tasteless, over cooked food. The lettuce cups came with coarse meat and frozen vegetables, the noodles were a gluggy mess that needed masses of soy sauce to be barely palatable. I will never go back and can't believe it's received so many good reviews! And there were four of us, all having different dishes—all were awful!
I eat here often and I'm never disappointed, food is always fresh and perfectly presented.
I ordered a clear chicken soup from viet rose delivery and it was amazing. I went in with partner and got a beef pho and he got the spare ribs with rice. Both were so BLAND. My beef was over cooked, soup had NO flavour. Beef even tasted frozen. Even when I added chilli and hoisin it had no flavour. Didn’t even taste like it was a proper stock. Service was bad. She rolled her eyes and had an IDGAF vibe. Very disappointed and dissatisfied
I had the stir fry beef, food was okay but you'll see in the photos the water bottle was absolutely disgusting. Showed them the bottle and the second bottle of water I got was somewhat cleaner but you could still see the dirt residue on the neck. I'm sorry but when it comes to EATING hygiene is the most important factor, hence 1 star.
Best Laksa Pho, the broth is amazing. Must try, highly recommend.
Prawn Spring rolls are awesome too.
This place is an institution of Fitzroy. Long may it reign. Humble, casual and no fuss. Huge fan of their Laksa with chicken and combo rice/egg noodles.
I had a really yummy rice noodle seafood laksa, though experience of customer service could have been more positive. Was not greeted at door, no smile, short answers re dishes (I was asking if seafood laksa had any fish sticks in it and if there were green veggies in it). Waitress could have helped by elaborating on answers, ie, how much veggies and what kind of fish in laksa. Waitress walked around restaurant on her phone. Some friendly, communicative, welcoming customer service would really make a difference.
One of the oldest standing Vietnamese restaurants in Fitzroy. An institution that’s still pumping out great beef pho, lakes and spring rolls with nice alfresco option at the front to soak in the Brunswick St vibe and people watching. Being on the west side of the street it gets shade in the afternoon which is handy on a hot summer day and a nice spot to sip a cold beer with dinner and watch the world go by
Really disappointed in this place.
We started doing pick up so they e wouldn't have to wear the Uber costs.
Our food orders still got smaller and the quality went down hill. They must have hired a Caucasian in the kitchen instead of an Asian!
Don’t bother ordering walk in takeaway. You’ll be prioritised below the Uber orders. Should’ve stayed home and ordered, would’ve been quicker. 45 minute wait, ridiculous, especially considering the prawn crackers are $3 for a tiny bag. Pick up your game guys.
Came at the start of the evening. Tried to order a three colour drink, none. Tried to order a lychee drink, none. Tried to order a coconut drink, none. All three on their menu. Not a good start.
The Pho soup was super sweet - lots of sugar added. It was impossible to eat. Definitely not a place to go for Pho!
Condiment containers arrived half full and dirty; needless to add, we did not use them.
Ordered on Uber Eats, and after two hours of waiting! My order was cancelled!
Now can’t order anywhere else as everything I wanted is closed.
Last week when I ordered my order also took 2 hours to arrive, and none of the extras I paid for were included in my meal. Vegetarian laksa had 2 pieces of broccoli, 3 tiny pieces of carrot and a bowl of noodles. Disappointed, clearly they no longer care about their customers!
The laksa was good and tasty but the Singaporean noodles were dry and not particularly good. Service could be improved. I do not need the waiter to click on my phone when I'm checking in. It's not polite
