Victorian Dance Academy School of Performing Arts reviews
10We have been with VDA for over 7 years and both my daughters love coming here! Dancing is the highlight of their week!
My daughter started in the kinder class in VDA this September. Before that we took trial classes in two dance schools, and in VDA she integrated into the dancing class almost as soon as she entered the room. Here we felt a lot of passion and profession. Though she is just a kinder kid, she felt the differences immediately. So my daughter and I decided to come here. Recently, all in the studio have been working for the concert and everyone is busy. I saw that Kerrie and Marylin explained to the parents who lined up for consultation one by one with lots of patience. On the photo day, unfortunately I failed to make my daughter's hair, it was my first time to do this. One teacher (sorry I didn’t know her name but I’m very thankful) immediately took out all the hair styling tools and made a standard ballet bun for my daughter, and I learned how to do it in the upcoming rehearsal. I am very grateful to them. Now we’ve studied here for a term, I’d like to say that they are full of passion and very professional with dancing teaching.
My daughter has been going to VDA for 2 years and adores the the teachers and I like how professional the whole team is. Very welcoming and supportive.
My daughter has been attending VDA for several years, and as a result she just loves dancing. Kerrie and her team are true professionals and build a love of dance in the children, which is wonderful to witness.
The facilities are terrific and so appealing to children, including their dance store, and the staff, especially beautiful Marilyn, are all excellent. Kerrie, as the Principal, has extremely high standards, which are reflected in every aspect of her amazing school.
Many thanks to Kerrie and all of the VDA team. We look forward to many more years of dance with you! Keep up the wonderful work!
It’s our 2nd year to be in VDA and have enrolled next year. The principal Mrs Fraser and all the teachers and Staff are so nice to each student and parent. VDA always try their best to make the performance perfect. And the most important thing is my daughter loves dancing here and loves her teacher. I always recommend VDA to my friends and here to everyone to learn dancing!
I highly recommend Victorian dance school for its dedication to maintain a high standard of dance, annual concerts showcasing children's skills, and thorough competition training.
Thank you to Kerrie, Marilyn and the staff for your support and commitment.
VDA has been a part of my daughter's life for the past 5 years and she has gone from strength to strength since starting there. She has been dancing since she was 3 years old but has really flourished since being at VDA. The principle, Kerrie Fraser and all the teachers have been so supportive and encouraged her in so many ways l can't thank them enough. It has been a very challenging year this year but VDA has managed to keep the kids engaged with zoom classes. I would recommend VDA to any kids that love dancing. Thanks Stefanie (Catia's mum)
Strongly caution parents about sending their kids here. We had a very bad experience that almost destroyed my daughter’s love for dancing, as well as her confidence. Put me off the whole dance thing as well. In summary - which I still find quite disturbing - my 8 yo daughter was asked not to return because the owner believed i had written a bad review on their previous site. I didn’t. I use my name in reviews. It was another parent who was experiencing similar issues. Instead of first checking, I was told that because of my bad review (which I didn’t write) they did not want my daughter back. I was shocked.
Turns out best thing ever to happen as we found an amazing studio in Nunawading that is heads above VDA. My daughter has gone from strength to strength and is very much back in love with dance.
I would never assume to tell a parent what to do, however in this case would recommend you look around, do some trials at different places to see what fits.
. Also noted most of the 7 reviews on the site now, are from employees and owners. I recognize the names.
I’m not that kind of person that likes to leave feedback and this is actually my first time writing feedback. I know no school can be 100% perfect the way you wanted for your kids. But as long as teachers are dedicated and professional, staff are friendly and kids are happy then it’s a good school. We have been with VDA for three years now and my two girls love dancing with them, no matter in the studio or on Zoom classes. From the principle to the teachers, are all very professional and supportive. Every school has their own ways of running their business, as a teacher myself I do respect the ways how VDA is run and happy to stay. Well done to all VDA teachers and staff for the hard work in 2020 and looking forward to our Covid-normal 2021!
I just had to write to express my gratitude to the staff at VDA for their hard work, positivity and creativity during COVID restrictions. As a result of their efforts, my daughters have been able to continue to dance this year with the very high standard of care and guidance they've always enjoyed. Returning to the studio this month was so very enjoyable for them and I've appreciated how enthusiastic the staff have been in welcoming them back. Thanks VDA. We love being part of the VDA family.
