Victoria Quality Butcher reviews
34They put MSG on their pork, had a massive flareup, wasn't even on the package, pretty criminal. Hope this helps someone.
During my recent trip from Sydney to Melbourne, I had the pleasure of discovering this exceptional butcher shop. Despite encountering a small hiccup where the yukke meat we were hoping to purchase had sold out upon our arrival, the staff went above and beyond to ensure our utmost satisfaction.
Understanding our time constraints and the need to depart for Sydney the following day, they graciously agreed to open earlier than usual to fulfill our request. This level of dedication and willingness to accommodate our needs truly impressed us, and we are immensely grateful for their exceptional service.
The yukke meat they prepared for us the next morning was nothing short of incredible. The quality and taste surpassed our expectations, and each bite was a delightful explosion of flavors. It's evident that this butcher shop takes immense pride in sourcing the finest meat, and their commitment to excellence shines through in every bite.
In addition to their outstanding meat, the staff members were friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about their craft. They took the time to understand our preferences, provide helpful recommendations, and ensure that our experience was nothing short of exceptional.
This butcher shop truly turned our initial disappointment into a memorable and enjoyable experience. By accommodating our request to open earlier and crafting the most delicious yukke meat, they exceeded our expectations in every way.
If you find yourself in Melbourne and are in search of a butcher shop that offers outstanding service, top-quality meat, and an unforgettable culinary experience, I wholeheartedly recommend visiting this establishment. Prepare to be impressed and treated to an exceptional dining experience that will leave you wanting to return for more.
What do you do if the meat quality is good? The staff is very unfriendly, and when I ask them anything, they frown and look so offended that everyone who went with me felt that I bought a different color of scrub brush. It was so annoying that I didn't want to go again.
Overall good quality and reliable supply of KBBQ meat. Great for home BBQ during lockdown times. We especially like the MB9 wagyu pieces for $139/kg
Edit: recently some of the marinated meats and larger fillet pieces were not so fresh, the meat was a bit smelly and unappetising after 1-2 days even when kept below 2 degrees in fridge. When we arrived home we discovered that it showed some darkened color which was disappointing. Minus 2 stars for that.
The meat tastes good and the quality is good.
I wish the staff were a bit more friendly.
If you treat guests with a smile.
I am not sure what's wrong with these people who give 1 star for this butcher. Surprisingly they are all Koreans, so embarrassed. You guys should support your ethnic minority group, rather than bullying. I feel very privileged to have this quality butcher in Melbourne.
Very shifty.
Bought 3 pack of beef and got scanned for 5 pack. After realised there are 2 extra packs that we didn’t ask to buy, we asked for a refund right at the spot. Literally 5 seconds after I paid. They said they cannot do the refund due to the efpos machine limitation - have no idea how on earth a retail shop cannot do a refund. It’s not they can’t, its they don’t “want” to do the refund - and instead of refund they will put the credit as point so I can use it next time when we come back.
Basically had to spend the money they over charged at the end.
This is not the only butcher in town, there are so many other GOOD options.
If you are looking for the best quality wagyu beef or simply want to impress your guests when they come to your house, then please do yourself a favour to visit this place!
I recently visited Victoria Quality Butcher and I was blown away by the quality of their meat. This shop is specialised in Japan’s finest wagyu beef, Australian wagyu MB9+ and the Multi Award Winning 1824 Premium Beef.
Apparently there’s only a few licensed distributors of Japan’s finest beef in the world. And this shop is one of them! Their wagyu beef are directly import from Hokkaido, Tohoku and Kyosu.
You can get everything you need for bbq in this shop, from the fresh meats, marinated meats, frozen meats, condiments, seasonings, drinks to bbq appliances
what we bought:
- Full blood wagyu MB11+
- Wagyu chuck tail flap MB9+
- Wagyu brisket MB9+
- Marinated LA Galbi wagyu
- Radish pickle
- Onion sauce
- Kimchi
- Perilla leaves
- Some drinks
The wagyu beef was absolutely beautiful, it just melts in your mouth? The marinated la galbi was delicious, the pickles, kimchi and onion sauce were so good! Finest quality at it’s best! And their staffs are so friendly, no words can describe how I love this shop, come and try it yourself! Trust me you’ll love this shop as much as I do
Meat is good but service was terrible.
Spent $300+ other day and I got 0 smile and clearly he couldn’t be bothered serving me.
Wouldn’t bother explaining which type of meat is for what.
I am worried if he is held against his will and nearly called the authorities.
Dont worry about complains. I believe the quality of the meat from this store is the best in melbourne. Im pretty sure that the complaints were written deliberately by some customers who has bad intention
Phoned ahead to order eye fillet steaks, as was driving from three hours away. When arrived, order not prepared and didn’t have enough eye fillet steaks to prepare my order. After the inconvenience, denied offering a discount. Quality is excellent, hence I drive a long way to pick up, but displeased with the service and goodwill as a regular customer.
Meat is good but the service is bad, some much attitude. Wouldnt going back to this store. Glen Waverley Store.
Amazing butcher that specialises in Wagyu and KBBQ. They have everything you need to create the kbbq experience at home including all types of fresh meat, sliced and marinated meat. They also have lettuce for wrapping, salads, sauces and kimchi. We were recommended fresh wasabi and it did not disappoint. Went very nicely with the fattiness of the meat.
Overall the meat quality is ok.but last time when I bought few packs of wagyu, some beef were stinky even though I cooked them with good charcoal.also as a regular customer, I found their price is getting more and more expensive. I probablly won't go their anymore.
Absolute top quality cuts for what I believe to be a fair price. The yukke beef (a raw beef dish) is fantastic and the onion sauce goes well with the barbecue meats. If you are having korean barbecue at home then you must visit this premises. They have a loyalty program too which is nice to use after a few trips.
We bought range of beef& pork from here. In my 30+ years of purchasing meat for the family, never had a butcher where they include the weight of the tray in the price of the meat. For example if you buy 1kg of wagyu (~$150/kg) that means you are paying $1.20 extra (tray& wrap weighs about 8g). Of course you will pay more for the packaging if you buy more expensive meats/more Meats you buy
***in addition: this place is not following the Australian regulations as you are required to sell the meat by the meat weight not including the packaging****
Also we bought spring onion slices. But in fact they were not spring onions. They looked like leek. Spring onions can't be this thick (as can be seen from the photos).
It was our first time purchasing it from here as we had no other choice during the holiday period.however we won't come back. Truly disappointed at the service.

The quality of the slice is so good. Once you eat here, you can't buy meat from other butcher! Whenever I go there, I buy wagyu with pork belly️️️
What can I say, this is the best meat in Melbourne, no need to chew it just melts in your mouth!
Wagyu Eye Fillet 8+ score is the only thing I'll eat - it's THE BEST!
So much great selection for meat! Love stocking up whenever I visit this place. Though I had a bad experience with an elderly woman from the kitchen. I wanted a packet of pickled chilli but they didn’t have it. So I asked the staff over the counter if it was sold out and she checked with a guy in the kitchen. He came out to check and told me he could make one for me if i wanted. I said it’s okay not to go out of his way to make it but he said it’s no big deal. I was very grateful. Then when i was trying to pay for it, an elderly lady out of nowhere from kitchen walked up to the counter staff and told her off for taking the made-to-order stuff when busy. It was so unpleasant and I felt so bad for the girl over the counter so I apologised to her that I even asked her about it. First, she could have waited till I left. Second, she could have cross checked the fact with the guy who was very willing to help me and not just blindly blamed the girl who didn’t play any part in that decision.
