Venus Bay 1st Beach ( 20 spots only) reviews
33I love this long beach. In winter not crowded with a cold, southerly wind. It was an enjoyable walk along the sand in the sun and wind.
Great beach, it is great on a nice day. A short walk from town, not many parking spots on busy days. The road loops around so it flows ok if no one stops. Beach is 20m from the road end.
Sand was super soft however hard to clean because its so soft hahahah, found lots of animals even fishes! Wide space to set up tent and be away from other people
We really enjoy the Gippsland beaches. It was nice and quiet during our visit at the end of February. There was no litter. The beach was nice and clean.
Very good surf fishing beach. Great gutters and and plenty of variety of fish.
Best time on rising tide with northerly winds.
Beautiful beach and ocean. We all had good fun during Christmas holiday especially kids. Make sure bring your sunscreen lotion, beach tent coz you definitely get a sunburnt if you stay there whole day. Limited parking spot but can park at beach 2 and walk to beach 1 (most popular spot) -15 mins walk along the beach. We only found toilet facilities located in beach 1. It will be far away if you walk from beach 3,4,5 to beach 1. We love to go there because beach so big and you wont feel thats a big crowd even so many peoples there. Pipis picking very popular there but make sure follow the regulation and buy fishing licence in advance.
Loved seeing my kids have fun I wonder if the lay the wheelchair ️ mat's out on this beach ️
Just sit on the bench and look at the view. 5-6 benches available. At times, can see amazing reflection in water.
Feels isolated but great.walk from beach to even nearest accomodation in dark not recommend.we spotted wombat by the roadside.
Less crowded beach. Clean.limited car park. No public toilet.
Beautiful place to visit.
Parking is horrible sometimes but it's probably better that way.
Less people
Amazing beach with beautiful yellow sand as far as you can see. It is patrolled by surf life savers part of the year. Great place for a long walk. There are toilets at the car park. Beach access is easy. And its not far from the shops at Venus bay. Highly recommended.
Great beach, yes you are supposed to have your dog on a leash, no one was there and he wanted a swim, didn't hurt no one
Great beach in general
I prefer to go at night when it is less crowded but if you want to go to a secluded beach in venus bay i recommend checking out point smythe it is a great place to check out.
A patrolled beach a good seat at the top of the cliff or dune to watch the surf crash in it has a kiosk we got parking right near the beach
Beautiful beach. Often windy.
Strong currents in the water to be aware of.
On low tide it's a great walking beach, plenty of flat sand to walk as far as you like, or ideal for beach cricket, soccer, volleyball or other beach sports.
So picturesque and spacious. You would have to walk a fair bit to have a small strip to yourself. Surf club present with lots of kids at certain times of day. Wish it had shower facilities, that would make it 5-star.
If you have come to enjoy the beach, it's a 5 star experience. There are also many beaches around all of Victoria that have a great vibe but depends on what you want. This is not necessarily one for tiny kids. There are facilities but they are a bit old not but we are still thankful for them. Good walkways for kids to safely get to beach.
However if you are looking for pipis, it's been overfished I reckon. All the best if you try and remember NO tools allowed (no spades, etc). If you see anyone that breaks these, tell them off! Hopefully then one day it will go back to how it was that I remember when I first visited 10 years ago.
Amazing place in winter or summer. Only a short drive from Melbourne but feels like a whole world away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Definitely on our list for beach side escapes for either winter or summer.
Today was cold and very windy - blowing sand straight into our faces.
And even then it was spectacular!
One of the best beach for kids to swim, only thing u need a place to shower. Took a water bucket
If you cannot swim do not enter the water. Dangerous unpredictable currents that constantly change.
