Vault is a fundraising outlet for The National Trust that sells donated high quality clothing. I'd read about this place in The Age and seen it on the news and then when in Block Arcade was able to visit. I saw a few things that I liked but not the right size however when I saw a Hardy Amies striped men's shirt for $30 I brought it! No, not for husband for me! However I did do a double take when I saw the fur coats for sale, oh my that is so not OK these days.however aside from that, it's worthwhile checking out what they have and if granny chic is your thing definitely visit. The vintage clothing, hats, bags, ties, etc are fantastic. Would have browsed for longer but meeting friends for lunch so couldnt. Husband says that's a good thing!

I love The Vault! I always get compliments when I wear something I bought from here. The staff are so lovely and the store is in a luxe but easy to get to location. It's always worth dropping by - you don't know what you will find. It has more for smaller sizes but most vintage stores are in the same boat - and it's not the 1960s fault we are all getting bigger and taller. Higher prices than an opshop but usually on par or cheaper than a high street store. Items are often rare or unique lucky finds. I'm always astonished when people think donated clothes should be cheap when so many resources go into collecting them, sorting them, transporting them, tidying them up and storing them (in a store with a commercial lease, with utility bills to cover) before sale.

I highly recommend a visit to find the classic and eclectic. You'll find the best customer service and care.
