Vau d'vile Drag Cabaret Restaurant reviews
35The website will tell you to arrive at 7pm for an 8pm show. There is absolutely no reason for this and you will just sit around waiting. Upon arrival, you may be informed that the owners have overbooked and you are now allocated to the 'second show' in a smaller room, which doesn't start until 8.45pm, so you just get to sit and wait longer. When the show does eventually start, you'll be treated to all of the patrons from the other room traipsing through your room on their way out the door to have a cigarette, blocking your view and generally distracting from your night out. The staff will also choose that exact moment to serve the food, clanking and clanging during the performance as they do so. The performance itself is very average. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
There a just a few things I would like to put out there, when your website clearly states that it is $69pp that includes tapas and a show that you get given your own plate of food not sharing a dinner plate between 2 people of what would have to be the worst food, to the point I wouldn't even feed it to my dog it was cold, stale, and just disgusting, and then to look around and see most tables obviously felt the same way.
One last thing your main bar and the back bar where charging differently for the same drink that where be poured, and to be given in a smaller glass aswell.show was great when they actually started doing the show to songs I actually knew.
We went for a night out with the girls! And what a night we had the performances were out of this world! The service was amazing and I have never felt more safe and looked after then I have at vue de vile! The staff are amazing and what miss bumpa love and bubbles have created is an absolute show stoping place where people from all walks of life can come and enjoy each other’s company and creativity if you want a night out full of laughs and fun look no further! Vue de vile has it all
Dinner and a show, what more could you want. Laughter, lots and lots of laughter. The show was awesome and soooo funny. I haven't laughed that much in a long time.
Went to drag bingo hosted by Amelia nitrate and it was a riot! We have the steak, grilled fish and chickpea petty dinners and they were all delicious. Had an awesome night
Sleazy and not nice and food was below average.
Went there with a group.
Won't go again
We celebrated my mums 70th birthday here.
We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
A great night out
Went here for a night out about 6 weeks ago, just before the COVID-19 lockdown began.
Incredibly boring evening.
Definitely would not recommend.
Hypothetically, if it was the only "entertainment" option available post lockdown. I'd encourage punters to continue staying in their homes, and read a book or carry on Netflix-ing; rather than endure this drivel.
Admittedly, my partner really enjoyed it, but her tastebuds clearly obtained 100% of allocated taste, leaving little leeway for other aspects of life.
Lovely, tasty, fresh, big serve dinner&dessert during2drag shows-with lots of sass&some venom, with laughter galore&creative impersonations on stage to applaud.check out the dinner show; heaps better than bar show!
Had a wonderful time food was good, show was great, couldn't have asked for a better night and the sarcastic barman made the evening.
The Melbourne tradition of great theatre restaurants is alive and well at Vau D'Vile! The staff are warm, loving and welcoming, the shows are professional, witty and entertaining. Overall, a great night's entertainment is guaranteed!
Lovely friendly service. The bar area was very clean and well kept. The cabaret show was amazing and tasteful and the three course meal was rather pleasant. The queens are classy and vivacious. Would definitely come again!
Drag queens serving dinner in drag. They did not look happy about it and they were not friendly. The show was lacklustre and boring.no pizzaz at all. The venue needed more bling. Looked more like the local RSL.
We attended last night for a Hens. And I expected a lot more than we got. For $115 it was not worth it. The food was possibly the worst I have ever experienced, I can’t even tell you what cut of steak I received, it was tough as boots. The veggies were from a packet of no name frozen veggies, and I can’t begin to explain how soggy the Parma was. The girls performing were wonderful and the experience of drag cabaret was definitely different. But I would not go again. At least not to eat.
