Vacation reviews
55Delicious "fancy" toast including nice GF bread option. Coffee was top notch. Not a huge amount of space to sit inside but enough to perch and enjoy. Would recommend.
I was brought to Vacation along with my tour group, as one of the stops for our walking tour. The tour guide confidently recommended the place as one of the sure quality coffee shops in the CBD. After having a flat white here, I can confidently say that he is right. If you happen to be in the area of Exhibition Street corner Flinders Street, give Vacation a visit! It may be the quick vacation you need on a busy day.
Expensive for a cup of coffee. They charge you extra for a ‘white’ coffee (milk in coffee) and then they add an extra charge for alternative milk. $7 for a large seems pretty excessive and the guy serving me was pretty rude when I queried the difference between white and black coffee.
I thought they were better than this…very average almond croissant and okay coffee. The kitchen was cleaning with strong vinegar when there were still customers eating and drinking coffee. Not the vibe anymore
Stumbled across this cafe on way to work. Customer service is cold. The layout confused me and I didn't know where to order and I was looking here and there but noone just bothered to say hi or offered help. Eventually asked where to order and was directed to the corner. While ordering felt the ppl serving just didn't want to be there and were overly automated and machine like. $6 for medium cap though coffee was good, bit overly smooth and not enough depth but some ppl will find it
Good to their taste buds but not dollar 6 good. I think I will stick to my regular cafe.
Went there for breakfast. It was busy with lots of customers doing takeaway. It’s more like a coffee stop rather than a cafe.
The coffee was way too smooth for my taste not enough depth, but I can see how some people like this style of coffee.
The croissants were a bit stale though the chicken sandwiches was quite nice.
Nice design of the shop but the walls are looking a bit grubby.
It was a nice experience but slightly disappointing.
Aesthetics of the place are nice although the walls and floors are getting a bit grimy. Flat white was OK; strong taste with good latte art. Staff was averagely friendly. Branded ceramics and cups are a nice bonus.
The Cashier is a short mid-aged Asian male. I told him I wanted to have a ham cheese croissant. A few minutes later a lady gave me a toastie which was not what I ordered. I told her I ordered a croissant, not a toastie. The lady exchanged the croissant for me and I left. Then I realized I was charged the wrong price, i.e. A toastie price $10 for a croissant. No refund for price difference. If you didn’t hear clearly, please clarify with your customer, instead of charging them more!
Great coffee. But the e-commerce deliveries are terrible. It takes weeks to get your coffee delivered 3km away. Please find a better provider.
Coffee is ok. 2/5
However it isn't close to Melbourne's standard.
Customer service is to be improved. 1/5
At least shouldn't be rude to Asian customers. One staff appeared to ruin the name of this coffee shop. She doesn't like her job.
Little cafe with quite good coffee. Not much food items available though and pricey ($15 sandwiches).
A solid brunch spot but not the best in Melbourne. Fun little cafe with a range of coffees but limited food options. We had the banana chocolate toast and the strawberry peanut butter toast. Both were tasty but expensive for what it was and the bread was a little underwhelming. Coffee was tasty and views were good. Overall 4 stars seems reasonable.
There are too many cafes and high quality coffee in Melbourne. A small cup of coffee costs $5 and I'm not sure it's worth it. The taste is too weak, i couldn’t feel the aroma of the coffee beans The interior is so pretty.
Great Cafe, prime location and the coffee soft serve in summer is amazing. Their in-house roasted coffee is delicious which they sell in store as well as serve in their coffees
Very conveniently located if you're walking to the tennis. Coffee was solid. Chai latte was underwhelming.
Great pour over. It was clear that the batista really care about coffee based on how carefully they prepared the cup. Really good stuff.
One of my favourite spots for a coffee in the city, it literally is a mini vacation from every day life. It may be a small shop, but it's packed with character and super tasty coffee. A Melbourne coffee institution that you don't want to miss.
Had great experiences at Vacation. Once, had coffee and cabinet foods to go. Next, had coffee in and has toasties. Clearly consistent in good service, good food, and unbelievably delicious coffee. Really nice ambiance and decor too, in a very central location.
I’m not a local but found this place based off reviews online and oh boy, it surpassed the 4.6 star rating! This place has an awesome vibe with incredible coffee. I would highly recommend the well priced Brioche Bacon & Egg - that was delicious. For anyone unsure.you must check this place out, incredible!
If there is only one early morning coffee shop open in the Melbourne CBD on a Sunday, thank god it’s this one. Great coffee, smashing B&E brioche, lovely team, and a Geoffrey Smart sunrise over the Yarra. Add Vacation to your vacation.
