Upwey-Belgrave RSL reviews
28Best food in Upwey! We love coming here for delicious food, lovely service and of course a beer!
What happened? The chicken parmas were processed chicken with processed ham on them. And yet still $26. Was not expecting that given previous reviews
Food aside, this place has an incredible military museum and brand new exhibits that honour the personal sacrifices of younger veterans that you will not see anywhere in the country nor the Australian War Memorial. The exhibits (8 of) are titled Honouring Our Younger Veterans project. Bring the family, see the exhibits and they have mainly all genuine and rare ADF equipment on show. Well worth a visit!
Walked in on a busy Fathers Day without a booking. Didn’t expect to get a table for 4 inside and quite happy to sit outside or just be served drinks. Young woman doing seating was very friendly and said she’d check if they could seat us. Came back and said we could have a table. Older woman who obviously can’t handle a busy restaurant (not full) made a comment “they should have had a booking” in a grunting rude way to the young woman. At the same time she tried to shoo my wife away from grabbing a menu on a stand at the front. Ignoring this we went to sit down and my wife reached for the menu again and the older woman reached in again to stop her. At this point I confronted her and she had a whinge about how busy they were. Walked out immediately.
All this rude woman has to do was either tell us they were full and act polite/professional.
Busy at the next place we went to and they said they could only serve drinks/desserts. Absolutely no problem. Had always wanted to try this place and now I never will.
Went for Sunday night karaoke, pleasantly suprised for open mic afterwards and heard some great country tunes played live
Absolutely loved the rustic and warm atmosphere. Staff were lovely and the partons friendly. We had dinner and it was yummy. Can't wait for our next visit.
Really lovely community vibe here. Everyone was very welcoming and genuinely helpful and informative. Family friendly dining and food is AMAAAZING!
Building isn't flash to look at but the leopard tank out the front sure is interesting. I then walked by a very interesting rifle collection as I walked towards the restaurant. The menu is very interesting and isn't normal RSL food. I got the jambalaya and my son the smoke pork belly. My jambalaya was excellent I would love to have it again tomorrow. The pork belly was good. A surprisingly good feed. I will be back to taste more of the menu. And now. Onto dessert yum, can't decide so let's get one of each!
New management new chef who are making a wonderful job food is excellent I went there at Christmas it was a good size serving could’ve had a little bit more taste but I will I need to do is add salt and pepper presentation was excellent and the staff were excellent
Well tonight we decided to try the Upwey RSL for dinner! We have never been there and always thought must try it! Well now I wish we had tried it before! When I called to order the lady who answered was so lovely and helpful and the food was delivered hot and absolutely delicious. The servings where plentiful enough for us to have it for lunch tomorrow as well! We will be back! Highly recommend
Awesome takeaway Menu. Food delivered dead on time and was fantastic. Thanks Grant Kerry and Teish.

Nice to actually take the grandkids in for a meal the food was good and the service was fantasic and very friendly the chef actually went out of his way and cook grandson an adult spaghetti bolognese thank you
I really love the atmosphere. You can feel a warm welcome from the staff and the people.
Good food good beers excellent service and what's more important is we return our gratitude to the service man and woman. True Australian experience.
This little sub-branch is a true treasure with an enthusiastic and knowledgeable cadre of members. The rear yard has numerous ex-military items of hardware on display including: Leopard 1A3 (AS1) tank, 105mm howitzer M2A2 (C1A1), and MkXIV 11-horn naval mine. The museum however is packed with a great many items of interest, including a very rare WW1 mountain gun: 7.5cm GebK L/15 M15 No. 2161 1915 Skodawerke.
Hadn't been for ages, new kitchen meant great meals, very friendly staff, huge portions and my daughter got a free lemonade.we'll be back.
I noticed they even had Vegan meals.something for everyone.
Came here for a birthday function. Organiser had had a previous function here and been so happy with the whole package, food, service etc that she booked it again. Sadly this time it was not as successful. Chips appeared to have been recooked and were burnt, parmas were barely recognisable as parmas, some random cheesy goop and some slices of tomato on the parma - rather than an actual cheese sauce. Service was disappointing. Initially food flew out the kitchen and then it appeared that the kitchen went to sleep as eventually guests started asking whether they had actually begun to cook their order as they needed to leave - some guests had an hour and a half to travel and had still not received food by 10pm. Portions were good though. Atmosphere lovely, location lovely but poor food, poor service and high prices means I will have to look elsewhere for my meal out. Big plus though - no pokies - what a treat!
We're at the trivia night and it hasn't gone well. The meals for our table were delivered over 30 minutes, but the food was excellent. The trivia was obviously amateurish and I hope the next night is better.
