UPPAREL reviews
39Originally had a lot of difficulty contacting them, but then found out upparel had just changed some communication systems. Since finding the right contact, I've had great and fast communication. Happy to have recycled my fabrics.
Amazing service - so good to see people supporting it. I think it’s good they charge a fee as such services need cash flow to sustain their service. I send suitcases of stuff per year (which mates and family contribute to). Hopefully these guys get more attention and popularity as time goes on.
Very easy process to navigate with clear instructions and good website. Very quickly booked in and picked up on time. Would highly recommend. Support this great initiative everyone.
Thrilled that a company like Upparel exists to help steer in more sustainable directions. Looking forward to seeing all that this young company will accomplish in the years to come!
Whilst I love the idea of this, in practice it’s just not worth the cost or hassle. The process was extremely cumbersome AND expensive - $25 to send one box, the pain of having to print a label plus a very surly courier pick up experience. Sure you get a $25 voucher but the products (socks only) available to purchase were very few and only available in kids sizes except one pack of mystery socks. You have to pay quite a bit extra on top and you only have 30 days to use the voucher, so no time really to wait for stock to replenish. Not recommended.
Great service, easy to access and efficient with organising the pick up. Very happy that my fabric won't be going into landfill. Highly recommend!
Noticed Upparel when it was still Manrags, I like the idea very much - recycling and sustainability and all that. Finally purchased a pick up but little did I know I won't be able to choose my preferred pick up date. Was told to print the label off ASAP and leave the boxes outside however they are also experiencing delay. I live in an apartment complex so leaving bulky items outside a locked complex all.day.long.for.several.days is practically irresponsible and unsafe.definitely not making things convenient for anyone! If only I could change my pick up location to my work place /friend's place. Also took forever to reply email. They used to have more items to purchase from on the website too, don't really have a choice these day even though you get $25 credit back from purchasing the pickup.
Excellent service and such a good initiative. Somewhere that isn't landfill to send textiles that aren't good enough to reuse. Love this company. Undies and socks are super cute too.
Used Upparel for clothing recycling. So glad that my old things don't land up in landfill. Recycled 40kgs already. Now have a bag in the laundry and any clothing that is stained, old, unusable goes into a bag for Upparel to collect when I have 10kg. The clothing has to be cleaned and washed. Highly recommend.
So disappointing. Visited upparel to look at free materials advertised only to be told that they would open for one day in march for.public to go to factory for materials. Can you imagine what a bun fight that one day will be.
I was representing the mornington peninsula boomerang bag groups who sew material shopping bags from donated material that would go to landfill to save supermarkets using and to stamp out PLASTIC bags. We are all volunteers and there are 13 sewing groups on the peninsula

Thank you so much for making this happen. Thank you to all the staff that were kind and helpful too.
The early bird crowd were lovely to chat to, and I thought once we were allowed in, everyone behaved courteously and were helpful to one another.
Restored my faith in humans even!
This is absolutely not worth your time. You're much better off dropping your linen at a Sheridan shop or an animal rescue shelter or taking your items to a charity shop. It starts with the hassle of putting too many unnecessary details in online to make the purchase and then no box or bag is provided. So, if you don't have a suitable container, you have to buy a box from somewhere. You then get an email that directs you to schedule your own pick up but that link just sends an automatic email. Then you get another email that directs you to a form - where you manually need to key in your order number plus a code. Then you need to print out a label and put it on your box. So, if you do not have a printer that means going to Office Works and printing one off. Seriously - this is just such a garbage service. There are much easier ways to recycle. I am so disappointed. Obviously do not recommend. Wish I could choose 0 stars.
Great business, am all for the mission behind this brand. It was a smooth process from beginning to pick up. Pick up process and service was hassle free. Sock credit applied and new socks happily being worn. All for supporting this initiative.
I was thrilled to have a ticket to go to the free material collection in May 2021. It was awesome. The materials available were of great quality and there was a wonderful selection. It was great to see such a vast amount of material being saved from landfill. We are looking forward to using our selections. Thank you to the help we received from the blokes working there. Thank you!
Sent in my old socks. Used my $20 credit to get a Mystery Box & received 3 very colourful new pairs!
Been a loyal and satisfied subscriber for maybe just over 2 years and don't see myself cancelling any time soon. Plenty of compliments around the workplace about my Manrags socks.
I love the socks but even more the fact that I have cleared out my cupboards and know that nothing is going to waste.
The process of collecting my clothes, packing them and arranging a pick up date was very easy. It felt so much better to be able to send off my old, used and no longer needed clothes to gain a second, or even third lease on life. There was normally no where to send my damaged clothes, so I had to put them in the bin and now they are being kept out of the tip and I can help the environment one step at a time.
Scam. Booked for clothing upcycle, nothing got picked up. Disputing the $25 charged. Other companies offer this service for free.
A great service which saves me time but also makes me feel pretty up to date within the style world. A couple of mishaps but these guys have been so quick to resolve the problem with minimal fuss.something to look forward to everything month. Well done and keep up the good work A+
