My posting concerns the small part of this shop where you enter a colourful doorway and go down to a shop full of fish, reptiles and the accessories associated with their care. There is no wheelchair access and the staircase is steep but if you are able it is worth a look.

QUITE A WIDE RANGE OF FISH AND AQUARIUM EQUIPMENT
Bought some frogs here (you need a permit to buy / move frogs and tadpoles in Victoria) and they were very helpful. Lost of fish on sale too (for both indoor and outdoor pools) as well as water conditioning products and advice

Really awesome place. I am a first time fish shopper. Philip over there was a really passionate about his work. He helped us choose our fish and the accessories we need. We had a great time.

My dogs love coming here so much! The staff are so lovely and my dogs have come to learn that if they sit while I am getting their supplies, they get a pat and a treat! Whenever we get anywhere near here on our walks, my usually slow and ambling 15 year old starts pulling on her lead and trying to lead me towards the shop! My other dog is 7 and usually very shy and anxious but they have been so patient with him and now he runs to get there and get his treat and pat too! I have been given great advice here and really happy with my purchases, especially kibble recommendations (I give their kibble as training treats now because they love it so much!).

The aquarium is really really bad. I bought four guppy here, one male and three female. One of the female looks unhealthy and dead in the second day. The male one always scratched himself on the ground of tanker. That means he has parasites. He cannot eat anything, became thiner, a few weeks later dead. One of the last two females also looks bad now, I am so worried about her.

The girls are always so lovely and are really pet friendly, living in the city with a pet dog is hard to go shopping but these girls make U feel so welcome and Ur pet they always offer a treat too it's the only place I would go now to get anything let related

Excellent customer service! Twice I've been in isolation and they have been so helpful to ensure I get my order of hay for my bunnies. They have a great range of products and have given good recommendations in the past too. Great to have this store so easily accessible in the city

I found these guys online and they offered the cheapest price in the area for the litter my cat needs. I called ahead to ensure there was stock, the man was polite and quickly able to confirm they had the item in.

I did not see any animals there, except for their freeroaming white parrot and another beautiful green bird in a big cage.

Thanks for providing the essentials at a fair price!

Great place. Super helpful. Great variety.
Totally ridiculous they're not allowed to sell the pets they used to. I have some doctor & nurse friends that would take a visit to see the pets after a particularly trying/emotional/sad shift at some of the hospitals near by. Spending time with the puppies/kittens etc seemed to take the edge off and allow them to keep at it. I tried to fill the gap with my very cool and old cat - sadly he passed to the big C recently. I've tasked them with the job of finding me another. When that day comes, my go-to guys as t UMP will be my first stop

Alyssa, the employee on ground level is incredible. She was patient, kind, knowledgeable, friendly and helpful! Alyssa is one of the only great things about upmarket pets. The products themselves are very hit and miss. The foolproof items like food bowls and ID tags were perfect, and exactly what we needed. I also purchased nail clippers and a plastic bristle brush for my dog. The nail clippers were so blunt that they could not actually cut my dog's nails. They were also way too big for my hand. The brush's handle had a gel interior that had leaked out, and was about 10% air bubbles. The gel was oozing down the handle through a hole. Both products had bird poo stained on the back. I had to cut the gel handle off and clean it in order for it to be useable. The nail clippers will need to be sharpened and adjusted to fit my hand. This is unacceptable at this high price.
The other staff member we met, an older lady, was completely inept. She refused to learn the easi-delivery orders machine's interface, or even read the screen. It was ringing off the hook extremely loudly, which was very distracting and stressful. In an attempt to stop the machine from ringing, she closed the store for business online, likely costing Alyssa the sale. This woman would not stop complaining, and did not help us with our shopping at all. We asked if engraving was available for ID tags and she was adament they did not have the machine. Alyssa returned from her short break (after 8 hours of nonstop work!) and told us immediately that engraving was available. This woman made excuses about how she only worked in the fish department, so she had no idea how to run the store (what? !) and she was rude, loud and impersonable. My partner and i have sensory processing disorder, so loud unexpected noises can make us very anxious and uncomfortable. They can even cause panic attacks. There was a large, loud pet cockatoo up on top of the shelves, who screeched so loudly i jumped in surprise. This, coupled with the easi-delivery machine ringing nonstop was enough to make me extremely anxious. The dog treats, raw-hides and dried bones were all at the perfect height for my dog to pick them up and swallow them whole. (she's a beagle, who is very well behaved usually, but that much food was hard to avoid). The whole store was lined with tubs along the floor of raw-hides and bones. It was impossible to shop while my dog was attempting to inhale the whole stock. There should be a dedicated section for treats, not the whole store! Most products were low in stock, or looked like they needed to be cycled through with new stock due to the bird poo. It smelt incredibly strongly of bird poo in the store. It was quite a sensory overload. Please give Alyssa a raise, and fix these issues! In the meantime my partner and i will be shopping online at petcircle instead.

I don't write reviews but the way this place went above and beyond for service was ridiculously incredible, Sarah in particular. Amazing - i'd shop here even if I didn't have a pet.

I have been going to Upmarket Pets for 10 years now.
They have a fantastic range of products for even the most finicky of pets Damo and the Team are always helpfull and have good advice the Aquarium is great Staff are knowlegeable and good range of Food and Plants will and always highly recommend

A week ago we purchased 2 fish and bunch of plants for our established aquarium of 15 years. I've never had a problem with my fish due to how much effort I put into the tank.
Firstly one of the fish died within 2 days, 2 days after that white spot started to appear on some of our other fish. A week on and all 12 of our fish are dead.
Some off our fish we have had for over 10 years these fish are irreplaceable and most worth around 500 dollars each, this has been a terrible experience.
We called upmarket pets, this was a complete waist of time, of course as mentioned in previous reviews they just denied any accountability or compassion. I ended up just ending the call it was pointless.
Meanwhile we had other pet shops get involved to try to help save the fish with no luck.

This operation should be shut down, please read older reviews before you give them your money. They knowingly sell sick animals.

I bought a Angel fish because the owner recommend that fish, on the way home the fish died, I try next day and the day after the shop was closed, next week same day I went to see the owner and he asked me to proof it that the fish is dead, even he asked me for the dead fish picture. Who even does that. So people something happens to your pets don't forget to take pictures, or take the dead pets to him, he will exchange.

I went to the Aquarium section on the basement, I’m partially setting up a Nano tank and I receive great info about my project as well as the products, which includes plants and substrate, lights and filter for my tank. The owner was really nice to me and give me a lot of extra information for my project. I’m waiting for my tank to cycle so I can go and get the most amazing betta fighter fish!
