Untitled Cafe - Armstrong Creek

My friend and I love the food and coffee here.
But it's always so packed out sometimes we have to go elsewhere

After ordering a take away flat white and waiting off to the side for 20 mins watching the barristers work, I approached asking where is my coffee as the people waiting before me had all cleared out. To be told they don’t know she hasn’t got the order I show proof on my phone or the purchase and asked for a refund as I am out of time to wait. To be told their machine just magically sends money to people as she didn’t even ask for the card I purchased in but gave me a piece of paper that said refund. Probably dodged a bullet but would have preferred to not donate $5.7 to wait for 20 mins.

Won the bagel of the month for December the festive chook. It was amazing I’m a picky eater and there’s more than a few foods that I avoid and this bagel was beautiful!

Some of the best food around… It’s an absolute shame then that the wait times are horrendous. 50 minutes for two bagels is unacceptable. I understand staffing is an issue these days, but this isn’t the first time we’ve had to wait when there is 5+ staff in house. Multiple times over the past year we’ve had 50 minute wait times on takeaway and dining in. Each time we go back thinking maybe they’ve improved, it’s exactly the same. Whatever the system is, it needs to change.
Sitting there for 50 minutes today without so much as a check from any staff, without an apology for the wait time or an offer of refund finally put the nail in for me, we won’t be coming back anymore.

The food is amazing its more to do with the fact I bought $10 chips only for the box to be half full, so disappointed as I love getting lunch here. Hopefully in the future no one else gets ‘scammed’ by sizing

Go for the coffee.
Atmosphere is lack lustre. There is so much opportunity to improve the seating, lighting, hard surfaces, which bounce the noise around creating a loud echoing effect.less than ideal. But it still works for short stays which most people tend to visit this venue for anyhow.
The staff are genuinely friendly, attentive, and typically switched on with people's orders.
I have never tried any of their food, so I can't comment on this. But most people I've sat with, or beside who have ordered food, seem to be enjoying it?

Edit: Thank you for your response, your response is exactly the evidence of how you treat your customers, lots of reviews stating the staff are blatantly rude, where as I have mentioned temperamental (meaning can be good or bad/ not consistent) and that i felt discriminated against due to the hesitance as I saw other tables being seated. Please, do not say it was booked out as I was clearly advised.with one staff we cannot serve you and that some tables can sit but not anymore and i was allowed a takeaway.no tables had the reserved sign either.please note i seriously am a regular.atleast twice each week (takeaway mainly or when i have work lunches, we get a table). So i am quite aware of your cafe/ reserved signs and your menu.infact we were super excited about the 'thai chicken bagel' as its our favourite specials! So, no your cafe was not booked out/ had any lack of tables. We have had similar feedback from others.your response actually proves me right. I am not here to coach you on what you should be addressing instead to ensure you don't loose further regulars and no offence taken to your comments about me and my experiences in life and your comment on my children and how i raise them, as you've mentioned there are bigger issues in the world.however, a cafe where patrons pay are equally important as i have worked in hospitality for over 7 years myself.and this is just a review platform where I have all the right to express my experiences/ views as a consumer. Based on your response here, i dont think an email to you would have been helpful, so i do stick to my words here and have further explained my reasoning in this edit. The food is mostly great and mostly it is a timely service from the kitchen. The floor staff can be temperamental.ideally if you are short staffed.you'll need to say no to all patrons or allow all. After waiting to be served with 2 children.we were said no, as the one serving us said she was going on a break with only one staff left to serve.though we said we we're happy to order at the counter and just sit at the tables (there were only 3 other tables that were occupied.with 1 to 2 patrons in each).
So, we went to the shops and we crossed the cafe again to see more patrons being served! In less than 30 mins! So, all I can say is from the other feedback I've heard about the place, but didn't pay heed until today.it is NOT A CHILD FRIENDLY CAFE! IF YOU'RE WITH YOUR KIDS THE FLOOR STAFF GETS UPSET AND CAN DECLINE YOU A SEAT IN THE CAFE. Fair enough.but I would like the owner/ manager to put up a sign to suggest the same.specially on a weekday, when parents are juggling work breaks and kids together. Time of visit approx 12: 30pm, Monday 16/10/2023.
We frequently visit the cafe as a pair and even frequently get takeaways, based on the service will try my best to steer away for discrimination based on having children with me!

Food is amazing and the coffee is top- notch, the staff are always super friendly, definitely worth visiting this cafe!

Love this place - love their coffee, love their bagels, love their new sheer curtains - creates such a cosy ambience Do yourself a favour & make this place your go to.

They make you wait to be seated and then take forever to come back and take your order.
At least the food is good.

I'd like to thank the chef's this morning for the most soul fulfilling Halloumi bagel I've ever eaten. The bagels here are always top notch, but this morning was on another level. Love your work.

The salmon bagel was delicious but my chicken wrap was bit cold inside, probably because it’s pre cooked meal. Flat white and hot choc were so good. Will return here to try something else

Great food & location for us, cannot recommend enough. Only con for me would be the consistently rock hard bread that is toasted so you can't cut through it without a fight, especially not with the butter knives provided. 5 stars if not for that.

This is our local go to café.
Staff are always so kind and courteous.
A few weeks ago i left my bag in there and they contacted me AND dropped it to my house!
Always delicious food and coffee.
Keep up the good work team.

I always order vanilla soy chai latte here, hands down the best chai ive ever had.their cups are also soo cute
