UniLodge on Swanston

Unilodge is an unbefitting place of accommodation that puts shame to the apartment living standards of Melbourne.

Be prepared to co-exist with MICE and COCKROACHES as there is an infestation on every floor; a pre-existing issue that in my 1.5 years of tenancy I saw no effective effort from Unilodge to have this issue alleviated. Pest control contractors do not count as a solution if they still persist in just a matter of a few days.

Communication as well at reception is a joke. Writing to Unilodge via email is unreliable and any further effort made to make yourself noticed will also fall short. In any case where there is money involved be prepared to be taken advantage of, as their team at reception are highly manipulative and advantageous of their tenants.
Also costs for any non-contractual based services such as apartment cleaning fees and laundry service fees have gone up in price (and will likely go up again even more).
During my tenancy, I failed to receive any resolution for any of my tenant related enquiries, such as faulty utilities, broken furniture, broken tap, kitchen service faults, etc.

Please heed my warning,

Do not sign any papers with Unilodge if you value your own health and finances.

Filthy smell, Issue with elevators most of the time, the place is filled with cockroaches. Unhygienic place to live. Very noisy, if window is opening towards Melbourne central.

The place is very old and not very well kept. The place is infested with roaches! Some dodgy people live there as well:/. Not a very pleasant place to stay at!

Hell of noises around and nobody takes that complaint seriously! Coles loader come any time day or night to steal your sleep!

Ideal for students at Uni. Provide tv, common wash area on each floor, common tt table, provide tickets for movies. Lot of families stay too, not sure how do they manage in such a congested space.

Neat and convenience, especially subway right on the corner, coles, tram, train, nando, i used to live here as well and certainly, I would evaluate 5 star.

Great location - can’t get any more central than this, reasonably priced, adequate facilities, on-site reception during business hours and after-hours staff also available on call.

This apartments are in the heart of CBD it's amazing if you are travelling for few days because everything is around you. And also public transport is in front of you nothing else to ask haha everything is perfect.

Old apartment but inside look good and the location interesting cause the apartment stand among the city of Melbourne. It easy to travel around the city

Location very central to shopping and eateries. The room stayed in was great but because there is no aircond for the whole building, it can get stuffy.

Average, the furniture really needs an upgrade location is great and the windows need to be fixed please even after sealing them up the cold air still get in.

I lived across from a small bedsitter that regularly housed multiple travellers/ backpackers. I complained on numerous occasions, but management had simply given me lip service to address the issue. There are definitely slum lords operating from Unilodge on Swanston. Just try to avoid being allocated an apartment next to or across from one. The constant door slamming will drive anyone insane.

Great location in the heart of the city. Building is slightly older but still great. Can't beat location.

Best value for the money out there. Awesome location.people complaining about cockroaches should start cleaning their kitchens more often.for real

Because is centric and in the heart of the city. Convenient for students of RMIT and University of Melbourne to commute to school due to the free city loop tram line.
